@RapSheet

#KCChiefs TE Travis Kelce signed a 5-year extension worth $46M, source said. $20.5M in guarantees. The second-highest paid TE in the NFL.

This is pretty much what we can expect to pay Jordan Reed.

Could start a pool on which team has the most off season police incidents. Vikings, Browns, Bengals are early favorites.

Okay , you go to a hotel room for what reason and then she climbs on the roof of a car for a ride home from a guy who just tried to rape her,.....something is not right here.

NFL is definitely lagging behind other leagues when it comes to this, but this article talks about it like it is a new concept when it's definitely not. I remember watching the old skills competitions, I definitely remember strongest man, etc., they also had the qb competition where you got points depending on how close to the bulls eye you were, not to mention the obstacle course thing they did. I enjoyed it. I think it was discontinued, most likely because of low ratings or something, but it was a part of the Pro Bowl weekend. I would definitely tune in if they revamped it. Tomorrow is gonna be the first Sunday I've had in months where I'm not planning on watching football.

Re: NFL things and stuff.....

Panthers currently have a +20 on the turnover ratio this year. Their fans are going to be in for a rude awakening next year when they don't get those kinds of numbers. Here is the history:

2010 T-(-8) Record: 2-14

2011 T- +1 Record: 6-10

2012 T- +1 Record: 8-9

2013 T- +11 Record: 12-4

2014 T- +3 Record: 7-8-1

2015 T- +20 Record: 15-1

I wouldn't even be surprised if the end up being a 10 win team next year. It's not like they added tons of talent on that 7-8-1 team from the previous year.

That Guy 02-01-2016 09:48 AM

Re: NFL things and stuff.....

if they win a superbowl, i doubt the fans would mind that much.

also, don't discount newton's development. he doubled his passing tds this year (35 vs 18) with 2 less ints, and he's cut his fumbles lost in half (4 this year vs 9 last year).

that's +7 right there. i'd bet on them being pretty good next year, depending on how many players they can keep. i don't think back to back +20 (or more) t/o's is very likely though.

That was pretty bad wasnt it?
A bunch of hugging on the field and tomfoolery on the sidelines.
I'd rather see it turned into a glorified punt pass and kick contest.

Thanks for the recap guys, glad I didn't watch. I used to be one of those holdouts that would watch the Pro Bowl because of how obsessed I was with football. But as I kept watching and I realized how lackadaisical the players are about it I lost interest. The antics reminded me of watching Haynesworth lay on the ground like a fat fish on that play against the Eagles all those years ago. Now since Sundays are my only day off I have way better things to do than watch that trainwreck.

Punters sleeping on the sidelines, kickers calling their sweeties (or either ordering pizza?)

Bunch of waste of time. I'd rather see the hottest cheerleaders of each team play in the Pro Bowl. Now THAT, I'd tune into.

Absolutely not !!!The man was a coaching genus and no one was better then he was at halftime adjustments even today it's hard to find someone with that ability.

Joe's staff definitely excelled at halftime adjustments (except against Parcells).

But I think what made Gibbs truly special was that he had a great staff that truly loved working with him.

I always felt like nobody was trying to steal any glory from Joe and that he used every opportunity to pass the credit off to his players and coaches.

Very admirable in a leader.

You and I know that. But when you hear about the greatest coaches in NFL, past and present, Gibbs always seems to take a backseat to coaches like Belichick, Lombardi, Knoll, or Walsh.

When you ask NFL fans who the team of the 80's was, almost everyone says the 49ers. Nobody seems to remember how successful the Redskins were during that decade.

skinsfan69 02-05-2016 11:36 AM

Re: NFL things and stuff.....

Belichick is a great coach. No question about it. His best coaching job I think was his 2001 team. But let's be honest, they never in a million years knew Brady would become the great QB that he is today. They've been riding that now for the past 15 years or so.

What Gibbs did, winning it with three different guys... and none will sniff the HOF, that will never ever be done in the NFL again. Ever. Walsh, Belichick, Knoll, Johnson and Switzer...all the so called dynasty teams won it w/ one guy under center. Not Gibbs.

It's sad when a story goes from "he's wasting his talent" to "his life may be in danger because of his own poor choices." Hope he gets the help he needs, everybody loves a good redemption story.

skinsfan69 02-05-2016 03:05 PM

Re: NFL things and stuff.....

Manziel has pretty much thrown his career away. He simply can't be trusted to be the face of a franchise. If he played another position he'd have a chance. Now he can be a professional club rat the rest of his life, cause he certainly won't be in the NFL. He's following right in Ryan Leaf's footsteps.

And if people don't think Gibbs is great, how about his success in NASCAR? The man is a winner, if he had a QB like Montana and Brady when he coached, he would be considered the best ever, which he is to me.
