Early Mock Picks
Seems like a couple interesting scenarios here. I'm always a fine with trading down to get more picks, and I think Scot McCloughan will probably wind up doing this. What do you guys think? Agree? Disagree with anything on these lists?

Re: Early Mock Picks
This mock sucks.
No way we take a WR in the first round. Five-round mock 5.0: Cowboys pluck Myles Jack, Derrick Henry - NFL.com |
Re: Early Mock Picks
Elliot would be scary in Dallas. Henry might actually be scarier. Henry sucks without getting some momentum going and he should have it behind that line.

Imo Doctsun is the best WR in this draft class so I love the pick, for me he would certainly be in the conversation for BPA based on the previous 20 picks in that mock. |
Re: Early Mock Picks
I certainly hope the BPA for the next five years for us isnt a wide receiver or we're going to have one silly ass looking roster.

Either way I would take defense on the first three picks. |
Re: Early Mock Picks
not sure if he is a football player, but Beckham's cousin is a heck of an athlete. Vinny would have used a high pick on him.

Re: Early Mock Picks
Ryan Kelly ... It will help solve 2 issues. Our Center position and improve the run game. 2 for one
Ryan Kelly ... It will help solve 2 issues. Our Center position and improve the run game. 2 for one
I wouldn't hate it. But if you can't stop anybody from scoring and you get down 10, you've got to move away from the run anyway. Defense is pretty key for us this year. |
Re: Early Mock Picks
I dont see Kelly going in the first round.
I think if McC was able to do something awesome like trading back with the Titans and gaining 2 seconds, then I think Kelly could be in play for us. |

Re: Early Mock Picks
since the Redskins are not going to spend money on good free agents, then they must add as many high picks as they can. I hope they trade down, there is a chance to rebuild the defense quickly.
Then they need WR, C, RB, TE, and a 3rd string QB too. Gil Brandt says there are 18 impact players in the draft. If there is a major mistake and a great one slips maybe you take him. |

Things just fell into my lap in that last mock, sometimes their scenarios are a bit unrealistic. ...but still fun. |

Huh? I don't think that will happen either. It was just a good result for 30gut on a for fun interactive draft site. I liked it. |
Re: Early Mock Picks
Chad Reuter of NFL.com did a seven round mock draft for all teams (if you can believe that) and here's what he came up with for us:
1. Jarran Reed, DT Alabama 2. Kendall Fuller, CB VT 3. Nick Martin, C ND 4. Jordan Howard, RB Indiana 5. Brandon Allen, QB Ark 6. James Cowser, DE So. Utah 7a. Jordan Payton, WR UCLA 7b. Tevin Carter, S Utah Not bad at all. He clearly understands our needs, anyway. If he had done this draft today, I imagine he may well have gone with a safety prospect in the second round. |

Then we would have a top 4 of Norman, Breeland, Fuller, and Dunbar next season. Pretty damn good if you ask me. I don't think Fuller will actually drop that far unfortunately. If he did, I wouldn't imagine there being a guy we could get that I would be happier about. |

Re: Early Mock Picks
Heres my (not gonna happen) focus on the offense draft -
1st - Jarran Reed DT 2nd - Nick Martin C 3rd - Braxton Miller WR 4th - Kenyan Drake RB 5th - Best ILB 6th - Best Safety 7th - BPA 7th - BPA |
Re: Early Mock Picks
Hearing we could go QB as high as the 2nd round if we gain multiple picks
Have also heard to keep an eye on Jaylon Smith LB from ND. Skins have interest if he starts to fall. |
Re: Early Mock Picks
If we burn a 2nd rounder on a QB, I'll be pissed.
