Skins vs Ravens prediction thread

Well this has to be considered another code red. With the Cowboys playing well, and the Eagles playing even better I am not pinning any post season hopes on winning a weak division anymore. Also, this is one of the games, based on our schedule, that I would consider a must win. I think the Ravens are not as good as a 3-1 record would indicate. They squeaked past three very mediocre teams.
Skins - 28
Ravens - 17
Going to be 3-2 with the Eagles coming to town. Could not have asked for more after the Dallas meltdown was over. HTTR!

Re: Skins vs Ravens prediction thread

Baltimore secondary is terrible so there is opportunity to score through the air...we need to be prepared to get run against cause Baltimore isn't a great running team, but their philosophy generally is to grind on the ground and big play with Steve Smith or the re-emerging Mike Wallace.

Re: Skins vs Ravens prediction thread

Totally agree. These are not the Ravens of the past. I'm going to take tons of shit for this, but I don't think the Ravens are much better than the Browns. Flacco is what separates those two teams. Defense a shell of what it once was. Offense has... Steve Smith? Norman can match up on smaller receivers, so while I do worry about the run a bit, their offensive line isn't as good as the Browns (weird to say).

EDIT: Just checked some stats because I'm speaking only on the eye test. They're #1 overall in defense? I'm SHOCKED.

Ravens offense is very avg, they cant run the ball and the passing game is mediocre at best.. They have played very weak teams outside of Oak.. The raiders carved them up and we can too. It'll be a close one of course but I say skins by 3

I could see us squeaking by for a win, but Im not expecting it. The Ravens are contenders year in and year out, they might not be as good as Denver etc. this year but we're still a level below

Ravens 31, Skins 27

They went 5-11 last year.....so speaking just very recent history we are more contenders than them. Obviously they have been more competitive over the last decade or two, but these current teams are a different story....

Never underestimate the other team, Pittsburgh had terrible CB's yet they kicked our ass. Let's see if our depleted D can stop them, especially Steve Smith.

Here we go again lol. No I realize their record last year, but they still have the same front office and coach that they've been so successful with, and they're off to a solid start this year. I would think last year was an abberration

Re: Skins vs Ravens prediction thread

I predict that if Kerrigan, Breeland, & Cravens can't suit up, they don't beat the Ravens on the road. This defense struggles enough when fairly healthy, let alone with three key guys out. 30-23 Baltimore

I predict if we get these guys back for Sunday, then it's a WIN despite the fact that this team has only won three or more games in a row two times since 2008 (uggh)... 27-20 Washington

I also predict that at least one Redskins fan gets their ass kicked in the parking lot, win or lose.

Yeah really surprised about their defense, 1st overall, 3rd against the pass, 5th against the run... didn't expect that.

If KC is in a great day we can pull off this one, their offense is average in everything and they're not sure where they're going at RB...

HTTR, this is winnable, hard one, but winnable, I say ravens<giants...

This would be the first team with a legitimate winning record KC and crew beat.
Not this week though. Ravens 38 Skins 20.

Honestly, no. Look at them against Minnesota - they just aren't a good team and I think that's going to get more pronounced as the year goes on.

I don't disagree with that, but I do not think the Ravens are a lot better (if at all). They beat the 2-2 Bills 13-7 (and, yes, I know what the Bills just did, but they have had some clunkers too), 0-4 Browns 25-20 (after being down 20-0), 1-3 Jags 19-17 (no real achievement there), and lost to the only team that they have played with a winning record in the 3-1 Raiders (at home) 28-27.

Don't get me wrong, the ravens can definitely beat us. But no one should fear that team. Their great D has had to play the likes of the Bills, Jags, and Browns in the first 4 weeks -- a good defense ought to keep the points and yard totals low.

I think the start of the season was an aberration. Browns, bills , jags. Meh. What did you mean "here we go again"? Lol.
Also their coach is better than ours right now. No doubt. I think our team is better though.

Id say to this point we have been more impressive than Baltimore. We beat the Browns worse than them, and the Giants > Bills or Jags. We should have beaten Dallas. They should have beaten the Raiders. None of this means anything on Sunday, but to say the Ravens have been impressive and the Giants and Skins have been less impressive is not accurate imo,...

OmahaRedskins 10-04-2016 09:08 PM

Re: Skins vs Ravens prediction thread

It all comes down to KC and the run defense. We had receives open on Pittsburgh and he missed the throws. We should have scored 30 on them and we didn't. I think KC is fine; 300 yards 3 TD and 1 INT.

We are not fixing the run defense until next year or the following year. If Norman sits on their number 1 receiver the secondary should be ok.

If we are plus two in turnovers we will win. 31 - 28 nail bitter.

If we are even or lose the turn over battle; Ravens 38 Skins 24.

In two years, we have developed a top 10 offensive line. There is a possibility we have two lineman in the Pro Bowl.

What's amazing is we are 2nd best in run blocking, yet like second to last in running attempts. Not smart

It was a one score game late too....
They are a really good team. Did not think they had enough talent to be so good, but -
Zimmer and Norv. What a perfect pair. Arguably the best OC in the game, and Zimmer is a defensive guru. Quite a pair.

Worse 3rd down defense in the history of the NFL and it's not even close.

I don't see how we win this. Unless we go with the same gameplan we did again Cleveland.

If we win the turnover battle. We will win, but that's the only way I predict

With the Skins D every game is a tough game so no matter how they have looked Balt will be a very tough opponent. I think in the end the Skins find a way to win and pull this one out.

Balt 30

Close game but we put it away with a Trent Murphy strip sack 20-27

We pick off 2 Flacco passes, Garcon gets into the end zone this weekend for his first of the year.

Do you take any stock in the fact that Baltimore squeaked by the Bills, Browns, and Jags? I mean I understand that for us and our D every game is going to be a struggle. However we are not exactly heading into Denver or Seattle.

While the speed Mike Wallace and Steve Smith should give us some pause, does anybody else really scare you for Balitmore? I actually think pryor, Crowell and Barnidge are a better group of offensive skill players than what Baltimore has...Flacco while solid is not outstanding.

Does anybody know how their Oline is this year?

Funny you mentioned that, I was just looking that up. Their starting LT rookie Stanley and their starting LG Lewis were both injured and missed last weeks game.

Weedle also left last weeks game w a concussion.

By Friday we should know whether those 3 were able to practice this week.
