Eagles round 2. Pregame
Well this is a code red game... No but really it probably is lol. If we lose Sunday we drop big time in the race. I think we come out fired up and win a close game on the road 27-20. Eagles will have ball last but we actually get a stop for the win.

Re: Eagles round 2. Pregame
With this defense I wouldnt be surprised if Carson doesnt have his get well game against us,Kirk is just gonna have to play better, especially in the redzone.
If I was the coach of another team I would not punt if I were playing the skins{unless inside own 10}This defense is historically bad, with the worst 3rd down percentage by a large margin over any other team.On 3rd and 6 teams convert 40% of the time!! Plus if your the other team and you go for it on 4th down and by some miracle the defense holds, you dont have to worry about the skins getting a td:tongue:,a f/g maybe. Kirk had had some of his best games against philly{minus the ints}So hopefully that streak continues and we can pull it out. |
Re: Eagles round 2. Pregame
How much better can Kirk play? Lol. We should beat this team hands down. The first Eagles game was by far our best defensive showing of the year. We got this shit!
Skins - 24 Birdies - 13 Okie this is definitely a code red! Hard code red even! Lol. (But seriously) |
Re: Eagles round 2. Pregame
I'm calling it now, if the team received "the message" from Jay, and the return of T.Will bolsters the o-line, and the d gets their shit together, this game will be a blowout. If not, it will be a close game.
But honestly if we are a good team this year, this one should be won by 9+ points. The Eagles have gone 2-6 following their 3-1 start, and Wentz is looking like a true rookie qb right now. His best playmaker is Zach Ertz. Let that sink in. Their d is alright but nothing special, and they just got beaten up by a crappy Bengals team that doesn't have AJ Green anymore. You think you deserve to make the playoffs? Time to prove it. |

Last week was frustrating, but it was against a top defense. Philly is not. Let's go smash some birds! HTTR ! |

this is when the playoffs start for the skins. they are a better team overall then the eagles. playoff teams win these kinds of games

Totally agree. The playoffs start this week for the Skins. The Skins are by far the better team and should win this game easily. |

I agree. This is absolutely a must win game, IMO. I don't think we'll have any reasonable chance of going to the playoffs if we lose this one. Even if we win this game, we still have a difficult path to the playoffs. Code Red! Code Red! Code Red! |

Also, we beat them pretty solidly back when they were 3-1 and being talked about like they were the Cowboys. Now they're 5-7 and playing like a big pile of suck. |

Which is JUST the time when the Redskins let Wentz have his best career game... Cardinals freaking sucked ass and we made them look like the Super Bowl contenders they were preseason. If we can just get some damn stops, we'll win this one. We SHOULD dominate this one... ...and since the Skins have now lost their first one when I'm in Vegas, I'll be out tasting wine/beer Sunday. They haven't lost this year when I haven't watched the game (I come home and watch after I find out the results). |

Kirk was the least of the problems. He was under heavy pressure all day. Yet he did not make any mistakes until the int at the end. The int on 3rd and 4 with 40 seconds left I cannot say I remember exactly how it undolded BUT i do not remember thinking NO! WTF?!? Lol. I want to say Crowder slipped or the dback made a hell of a play. It certainly was not a terrible decision to throw it though. |

Speaking for me not Malcolm, the pain from the cardinals game kept me from even looking at football till yesterday. Disheartening to say the least, but time to move forward. Let's see the Skins respond. |

Re: Eagles round 2. Pregame
It's really hard to see the Eagles receivers keeping up with the Redskins' offense in this game. Wentz just doesn't have any weapons, like at all. The gameplan for the Eagles becomes painfully obvious - run Ryan Mathews and try to keep the Redskins offense off the field. But Joe Barry should know that - Whitner should be in the box a lot. I'd feel very comfortable with Norman Breeland and Fuller matching up man to man in a lot of circumstances and selling out to stop the run.
Wentz may burn us once, but not often enough to keep up with Cousins. We win. |
Re: Eagles round 2. Pregame
It's going to be close. They play good defense at home and that will keep them in the game, along with our inability to get off the field. I want to see Ryan Kerrigan show the F up this week. I already know Smith will be quiet. I've given up on him this year. They might as well put Murphy in as the starter and see if that wakes Smith up.
|
Re: Eagles round 2. Pregame
I'll say this: based on all the articles I'm reading, people are REALLY picking us. I hate that, lol. We're running into them after three shitty games, much like the Cardinals.

If we lose this game then Barry should definitely be fired, because while we do struggle to get off the field on 3rd downs, that comes because we're facing talents like Larry Fitzgerald, AJ Green, OBJ, Dez Bryant and Cole Beasley, etc. etc. The Eagles don't have anybody that can threaten you on 3rd downs the way our previous opponents have. If we can't find a way to get off the field against the Eagles, given our secondary talent, then A) I'll be surprised and B) it will definitely be time to fire Joe Barry. Like I said, when a team has a deficiency as bad as the Eagles do at WR, it makes the gameplanning so painfully obvious. They're going to want to run at us. We should know it, and we should take steps to stop it. This isn't buckle up and hold on for dear life as you try to limit Larry Fitzgerald and hope for the best. This is take away the one thing the Eagles are at all capable of: running. And we'll be fine. |

But 69 you're right, if we don't get any pressure on Wentz then that's not good. Agree, Kerrigan needs to be a factor. Baker too, we need the pocket to collapse a bit and make Wentz feel it.

I see my early season angst with RK not showing up has caught some wind in its sails. Seems like only yesterday I was being lambasted for suggesting that he is meh. |

Does he? Damn those are some quiet sacks. Smith has taken 574 total snaps, 71.22% of all D snaps. Murphy has taken 472 snaps, 58.56%. I think its about time for Murphy to start. |

He has a habit of completely not showing up for a game. Even if he has 2 sacks he is invisible for the other 40 plays. Again, he is not thee biggest problem by any stretch. But a first round pick needs to get more consistent pressure. You know stats do not always tell the whole story. |

Trent and RK have been extremely solid this year. Preston Smith had one crazy great game...but other than that has been a ghost. I think its important to remember with Preston Smith, last year Jason Hatcher was a major force next to him...although Hatcher didn't have a ton of sacks; he was a constant force, commanded double teams, and would collapse that side of the oline. Who benefited most? Preston Smith...he doesn't have that help. Folks, we need 2 new starters on the DLine next to Chris B. Its been bad this year. |
