Redskins Free Agents List
2017 NFL Free Agents Tracker | Spotrac
Cousins, Garçon, D Jax, Chris Baker, Vernon Davis, Junior Gallette, Duke Ihenache, K Golston, John Sullivan, Greg Toler, Terrence Garvin and can't forget our long snapper Nick Sundberg. Who you bringing back? I'm going with Cousins 23.0 per year 5 year deal Chris Baker 8.5-9.5 3 year deal Garçon 7.0-8.0 3 year deal Nick Sundberg 1 3 year deal Vernon Davis 2.5 1 year deal Junior Gallette 1.5 prove it 1 year Duke Nachos 1.5 1 year I'd probably look into bringing Center J Sullivan into camp for depth. |

I would rather draft D-lineman than pay Baker close to $10 million. And he probably wants 5 years. Garcon is a tough player, and tough call. Davis and Duke, no thanks. Draft a TE. |

Davis and Duke, no thanks. Draft a TE.
Naw. Baker was really good for us and seems like a McC type of guy...I could see 4 years. I don't think you'll see a 5 year deal. I think duke is a decent special teams player and good depth at ss. Davis was better than expected this year and filled in nicely. Niles Paul and carrier are under contract too, will be interesting to see what we do. So your saying resign cousins and let everybody else walk? Interesting |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Cousins, Garcon, Baker are the no brainers. DJax and Davis only at the right price. After that, Galette on another cheap deal, Sundberg, and Sullivan. The rest are little better than camp bodies

I'm not totally against bringing back desean jax, but I don't think he wants to be here. And if anybody is looking for a big deal, I think it's him. Id let him test the market |

I'm not going to try to guess the contract amounts. I'd say Baker/Garcon are the only "must" re-signs. Davis is pretty close to making that list too, depending on how much money he'll want. He seems like he would want to stay here. Edit - Geez, forgot to include Garcon with Baker, and Garcon is my favorite player. I want them both back for sure. |

Davis earned another year and McC seems to really like the dude. He was our only TE that stayed healthy...I think that's big. I wouldn't be surprised if we moved on from Paul |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
I say move on from Gallette, he wants to get paid and hasn't been on the field in 2-3 years. Find a new young pass rusher and if he agrees to a minimum then sign him.

Cousins, Baker and Garcon are the most important.

I'm sure they would like to keep him, but reality is he's a backup tackle on the wrong side of 30. |

Davis and Duke, no thanks. Draft a TE.
There is no way you pay Baker 8-10 million per year. He just isn't that type of player. To me he's around a 4-5 million dollar player and not a dime more. I'm also in agreement with drafting a TE, although I'd try and bring Davis back for depth. But we need another young stud traditional TE that can freakin' block and knock some people off the ball. Reed is just too soft in the run game. Garcon at the right price is a person that I'd bring back. But not at 7 or 8 million per season. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
This market value thing is pretty cool. It's about right for what they have on Cousins.

Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Baker is 29 he's worth keeping for another 4 years. Kirk isn't even a Q and garcon is a must keep

Re: Redskins Free Agents List
If Cousins starts demanding this kind of money, I'd let him walk.
@EBJunkies Wow. @corryjoel suggests on open market Kirk could potentially get $26.5+ mil per yr... $90 million guaranteed. Id want to leave too. https://twitter.com/EBJunkies/status/816270956159270913 |

Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Regardless of these interviews, I think Cousins wants a long term deal with the Redskins. I'm going to wait until the climate calms to throw a specific number out there but we have the cap space.
It's in Cousin's (and more specifically his agent's) best interest to generate some buzz about him leaving. Having a public campaign makes the Redskins look bad if they don't give him a legitimate deal. It's extra leverage on the negotiating table, and the next few weeks/months expect it to heat up. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Thinking about Redskins needs, one thing that stood out was Breeland played much better in the slot down the stretch. Probably should keep him there.
I guess we will role with Fuller on the outside? I think we should probably try to draft someone there as well. |

49ers have money and picks, would not surprise me if Kyle ends up here. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
I can't imagine we would tag and trade. How many firsts would that give us?!

They would love to have him back, but he will get mid level starter money from someone and he is not worth that to us. |

If they do the transition tag and someone claims (essentially trades) for him it is two firsts. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Interesting. I'd have to think long and hard, but I am also on the side of the fence where the man has broken franchise passing records twice. You see what the Rams are doing with a lot of first round picks and shitty QB play.

Good article. Vernon Davis and skins have already talked new deal? Interesting to hear they would let baker walk...the fact garçon wants at least 7.6 per year isn't a surprise, that's the going rate for starting WR- pay the man |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
So you guys would really want to trade the best QB we have had in a while for some unknown draft picks?
I think this is nuts if we don't bring him back. The last time we had a QB we could have any kind of confidence in was Brad Johnson in 99 when we won the division and actually looked pretty competent. Then we go out and sign Jeff George after that season and set our franchise back down the toilet. This franchise needs to just pay the guy and keep building this thing. We don't have a QB. Do we really want to sit around and wait another 2-4 years to develop another guy and muttle through 5-7 win seasons again.... That is just stupid. With the bump in the cap and at a 23 mil deal the percentage that Cousins would take up is around 14.4% which is lower than the percentage he took up this year. IF we start over at QB again Jay will be looking for work in a year and this team will be back to ground zero all over after finally putting together two seasons in a row with a winning record. Cousins will only get better here, but starting back with a rookie makes me want to vomit. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Breaking Burgundy's Ben Standig reports the Redskins have shown interest in impending free agent Kenny Britt.
CSN Mid-Atlantic's JP Finlay is also hearing the same. Britt is coming off a career season, posting a 68-1,002-5 line as one of the only bright spots for a 4-12 Rams team. It was Britt's first 1,000-yard season of his eight-year career, and he'd reportedly be interested in the Redskins if Kirk Cousins is brought back. DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon are also free agents in Washington. Britt is from New Jersey and would likely be very interested in a return to the East Coast. Interesting...McC like big receivers...makes sense. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Figure Britt interest is about redzone issues.
Figure Britt interest is about redzone issues.
Is Britt's Madden attribute-rating on "RED ZONE TD FADE ROUTE" 100? I agree with you, I think Doctson size was appealing for that same reason. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Adding britt means Djax is definitely gone and I believe he's already gone any way. He's probably going back to Philly which makes no sense to me but hey whatever. Britt isn't a deep threat but he's a good WR.

Re: Redskins Free Agents List
They cannot "show interest" in Britt until free agency starts. Also, he has had off the field issues.
Junior Galette said today he intends to sign a one year contract with the Redskins. And says he is healthy. |

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
It makes perfect sense to me. D.Jax knows we won't pay him, Philly will, they need him, they have a young promising qb, he knows the HC from his previous time in Philly, and he's probably still got a lot of friends on the team. I think it's practically a done deal barring an outrageous offer from some other club. |
