Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
Folks, free agency is upon us!
Give me some names you would like to see us target and why. What rumors are you hearing? "Legal" tampering period is soon...who are we getting our tamper on with? No Cousins discussion on this thread, frankly sick of it. I think we will be more active this year than any before in the McC era. I think we get one big "Josh Norman"-like signing. Defense should be the focus. What you got? |
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
What about that one guy, Cirk Kousins?
(sorry, I couldn't help myself) |
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
Give me Hightower

Yup, this is the guy I thought when referring to the Josh Norman-type signing. He comes to mind first. The NT from the Ravens is the second guy Brandon Williams. To me, the Run Defense needs to be addressed asap. |

U rang? |
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
Brendan Williams and Calais Campbell.
|
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
I like Cambell and Hightower but they will be big bucks.
I doubt we could/would want to afford both. Kenny Britt if we lose Garcon. |
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
I just don't think Britt gives us the return Garcon would.
A FA on offense...Ron Leary LG...Would like to see him hired and Luavo cut. |
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
It's buyer beware season!!! I would target no one, especially Britt. He's a train wreck waiting to happen once he gets paid. Wait until that first wave goes, watch for the suckers to overspend ( like we did for Norman) and then get the 2nd tier guys. In the end we're going to have to coach up our guys, resign Baker once he sees he isn't worth what he thinks he is and draft some studs.

Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
Campbell seems like another potential Hatcher situation to me. If he was 28 I'd be all for it. At 31 no thanks.
|
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
Djax can leave for all i care, he was on his best behavior last year, once he gets paid it will be back to every little injury bothering him. Plus only matter time before father time takes his speed.
PG I feel like we need to keep; it will be hard to replace him. |
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
I don't think we can become a better defense unless we add a bigger talent in the front 7. Its a must.
|
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
I wouldn't target no one. We have to be somewhat active during free agency. I'm hoping we re-sign Garcon, but if we don't, it makes me think we draft someone like John Ross in the first round and then go defense the rest of the way.
Are there any good offensive linemen available in free agency? |

Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
All in all I dont see a lot of value or "wow factor" in this years FA crop.
However I think we are going to have to take some risk. The draft is not going to be enough if we expect to be NFC East champs next year. |
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
Give me Williams from Ravens, then Campbell next if he'd agree to a 2 year contract (would have to be for good money due to only being 2 years).

Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
Per Keim:
"Someone put his name out last week (forget who), but continue 2 hear Terrell McClain connected to the Redskins." D-Tackle for the Cowboys last year. |

Snarky party of 1, your table is ready, Snarky party of 1, your table is ready. You're right though, I should never disagree with him because all his signings are money, like Kendell Reyes and Stephen Pea'a (sp?). |
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
Hightower and logan on defense.
Torrey Smith on offense. He'll be cheap and it still a solid WR. Would love Alshon but he won't be cheap Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk |

Difference between the two for me is that Campbell has produced his whole career whereas prior to the off season we signed him Hatcher hadnt done anything and was playing out of position for us |

Yeah I get that and Campbell had been very sturdy health wise, but still, dude is going to be 31 when the season kicks off. |
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
Yeah I'm not too high on Campbell either, father time never loses. I'd rather go younger and see what we can do. The whole haynesworth deal killed me on FA DLineman. They don't typically pay off

Agreed I too am a little iffy on the age but I wouldnt give him a 4 year deal like we did Hatcher |
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
I'm sick of watching our d-line get pushed around by mediocre o-lines, so my choice is
Brandon Williams. hopefully we re-sign Baker & then pick up a quality DE in the draft to complete the trifecta. |
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
Andre Holmes or B Marshall would be a nice pick up as well. Holmes could be a solid number 2.

Campbell's production last year was about the same as Trent Murphy Calais Campbell, DT for the Arizona Cardinals at NFL.com Trent Murphy Stats, News, Videos, Highlights, Pictures, Bio - Washington Redskins - ESPN |
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
Nobody likes Dontari Poe?
And Zach Brown LB from Buffalo? Don't know him very well but he's 27 and was a tackling machine (149 tot, 97 solo, 52 ast) for my fantasy team last season. |

Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
Torrey
Smith will come cheap if we go for a veteran receiver. |
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
What about Tyrelle Pryor? He could probably do some serious damage in our offense. Norman could not check him when we played Cleveland.

i think Pryor will get more money than DJax and Garcon. He had 1 good year too. I would be concerned giving a lot of guaranteed money to him. |

Thanks, knew I was missing something there... What about Zach Brown? We could use a young pro bowler/tackling machine at ILB, couldn't we? |

5-46-1 and Norman jumped his route for the INT to seal the game. You talking about that game? That said I would give him a look. He's definitely talented. |
Re: Who should the Redskins Target in Free Agency?
Legal tampering is underway, let's hope McC isn't drunk dialing...

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports the Steelers looked into free agent Terrelle Pryor, but lost interest when his asking price was over $10 million annually. It speaks to potential concern over Martavis Bryant's return from suspension, in addition to Pryor's lofty price tag. While costly, $10 million per year is absolutely the going rate for a wideout of Pryor's caliber. Alshon Jeffery is expected to set the top of the market with a deal worth $14-15 million annually. 27-year-old Pryor and 30-year-old DeSean Jackson are next up |

So far, he's offered Papa John's a $7M per year contract and left an order for a pizza on Chris Baker's answering machine. It's not looking good. |
