So replay from NY seems like it's going to be worse than before. Bengals just challenged a catch where the ball hit the ground and moved but they let the catch stand.

Terrible.

Re: Around the NFL Week 2.

I actually thought the game was rather entertaining in the second half, when the offenses did something. Didn't mind looking at a defensive struggle though. Geno Atkins and JJ Watt were putting on a clinic out there. Watson made some decent plays, even though his offensive line gave him no time.

I wonder what would be a good compromise if you got rid of TNF? My money would be on always having MNF double-headers with a late West Coast game. Either that or having a Sunday morning football game. Otherwise, I don't see where else you'd put another football game on national TV (Fridays are a no no and Saturdays are owned by college football).

I still like the Friday idea. As I get older, I realize drinking during the game is always a given and it's harder and harder to wake up the next day. Hell, if it weren't for college football, I'd LOVE a Saturday night game every week.

I'd rather watch High school ,some good games and it is more of a pure game.

Sorry can't drink when watching the game ,it distorts it,makes you think you know things when you really don't.Most fans are like that but drinking just magnifies it.I like my beer ,I am not anti drinking or having a good time,I just don't need it to watch a game I enjoy watching and evaluating what I see at a game.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/sliding-nfl-ratings-could-throw-networks-for-a-loss/

These days, however, the most popular U.S. professional sport isn't such a sure bet. According to Pivotal Research analyst Brian Wieser, viewership for the NFL was down 14 percent on a year-over-year basis during the first week of the 2017-18 season. That's the lowest level of same-week viewing since 2009

14% is significant period. What's the excuse this year? Last years excuse was pretty bad.

I am dyed in the wool with the NFL and the Skins, so I will never stop watching, and thus maybe I'm not the best one to comment.

But I think the CBA with its rules about limiting padded practices and hitting really hurts the game. The product is not like I remember in the mid 2000s when a Sean Taylor hit could be celebrated for both the ferocity and the perfect form of the tackle.

I think the lack of practice time leads to a lot of mistakes, which shows in the form of penalties. I would love to see stats to confirm my thoughts here but I feel like we see flags all the damn time. Personal fouls for hitting, lots more holding, it reflects a declining quality of the play.

I think they need to practice more.

Ok and I am not disagreeing here but a question, how do you feel about preseason games?I stated before and I'll say it again the first three to four weeks of the season are still a preseason mode, players are still not into "game shape".

Words to live by. I have respect for that offense, but Dak thrives because he's got a nasty o-line, 1 elite and multiple solid receivers, and a stud running back taking pressure off of him. I suspect many teams will look at the Broncos gameplan today and try to force Dak to win games without leaning on Zeke. Then again the Broncos D is nasty so it remains to be seen how well teams can duplicate their gameplan.

Re: Around the NFL Week 2.

Gotta give a shoutout to the Chargers stadium staff for setting off fireworks after their kicker blew the game winner again lol, apparently they thought all the cheers from the Dolphins fans meant he made the kick. (Note, this is just rumor so take it FWIW). Yes, I am immensely enjoying all the egg on the NFL's face and on Kroenke/Spanos for moving their teams to a place that doesn't give a shit about them. Those two cheapos deserve all the love they get. Hope the games don't sell out after their new stadium gets built, that would be hilarious.

Edit: Also gotta give a shoutout to Joe Thomas for 10k consecutive snaps, in this day and age of brittle bones and hard hits it would be an amazing feat for any player, but I give him extra due for the fact that he plays one of the most physically demanding positions in the game, and he also does it at a consistently very high level. Nothing short of amazing and he deserves all the props he gets. First ballot HOFer even if he retired tomorrow, and he's one of the lone bright spots for the eternally lost Browns.

Straight from Reddit, fun NFL fact of the week. Only two qb's have beaten both Brady and Manning in the playoffs, and they are Joe Flacco and Mark Sanchez.

Cowboys looked bad.

Anyone else feel like KC and Oak look beatable?

I think we probably match up better vs KC, but it's an away game.

If we can go into the bye 2-2 I think that's a good start to this season, we can come out of he bye against SF and then get some payback against Philly and we are 4-2.
