I thought i read that he was due back soon. Damn. That sucks. 9 sacks last year?
Edit : I honestly forgot about him for the start of the season.

Hats off to the defense prior to the injuries. Preston Smith has got to stop these stupid fucking penalties as well as Breeland.

Hats off to Kirk. No issue with him for the most part. Came up big in the end, but was let down by his teammates.

Perine is looking to go the way of Matt Jones.

Doctson has made 1 great play in 1-1/2 years. That's piss poor for a first round talent. He's got to make those plays and he absolutely let this team and fans down. He's definitely the goat (in bad way) of the game.

Also, fuck Pryor and his continued drops. He's good as gone next year.

B Mitch said Alex Smith was over the line on the last long pass Not Called he also said the last offside wasn’t offsides so like I said the Referees screwed us over again

No moral victories. We should've had this one.

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.

We need a OLB that can make big one on one sacks. No one we have is explosive. Smith had all day to throw. And we had no discipline. He was allowed to just roll to his right whenever he wanted and it cost us the game. Thats just undiscplined football. Not beating elite teams like that.

We also need an explosive running back (bigger than Thompson). Imagine our offense if we had Kareem Hunt.

I want to see Mack Brown over Perrine.

Breeland and Smith need to stay focused. Talented players that really need to lock in to be successful. They combined to make quite a few bonehead plays.

Overall, liked the effort and despite not playing very well, we were right there.

Bye week is very much needed right now. Win the next 3.

Apparently Reed was open on that play to Doc that he dropped. Haven't seen it yet and im not sure i want to. Because if he was open for a sure first down i might be sick.

That was a tough catch that he has to make. I know everyone is down on the guy but he's close. If he can stay healthy it's a matter of time. You can see the raw talent.

He had a step but wasn't really clear until after Cousins started throwing. And he made a perfect throw.

Should've went to overtime. Defense shouldn't give up points with 47 seconds.

He's our most talented WR. If he's healthy he should be starting. No one else is playing well enough that you can say should keep him off the field. Did Crowder even catch 1 ball tonight?

Definitely. The kid has talent and I do feel bad for him. He was brought in for those exact same plays tonight. Out jump the DB for the catch in the end zone. I'm more down on Pryor than I am Doctson. It's unfortunate but many of these games come down to a handful of plays. Some players make the plays (Kelce) and others do not. (Doctson) Remember seeing this college coach talk about how even many of these teams are and how these games come down to a few plays during the course of the entire game. The Giants/Chargers are a perfect example to that. Losing close games.

Also, hard for our defense to do jack shit with all those injuries.

Few plays from 4-0, a few plays from 3-1. Gotta settle for 2-2. Win our next 2 and we're at least tied for 1st.

The boys left it all on the pitch but unfortunately that late drop in the end zone was one to many errors to overcome in addition to the injuries.

He was on man coverage but not wide open. But in retrospect he was the better option.

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.

Chiefs don't lose at home often, they probably have the truest home field advantage in the NFL. I think they have lost like two games a year at home over the past few years...Skins played good, and should have won.

Negatives: Defensive penalties leading to extended drives and points, not containing Alex Smith, and not finding a way to get a turnover, are what lost the game. Turn any of those negatives into a positive and it's a W.

Crowder has been absolutely invisible this year. I miss D-Jax and Garcon. There was another missed opportunity tonight where KC had someone down the right side who beat the coverage but couldn't get to the ball. D-Jax it was a sure TD. I still am having a tough time with the fact that we gave up both of them. Read somewhere we are the first team ever to give up two 1000 yard wr's in the same off season. Thst is a whole lotta yards.

That was Ryan Grant and he was open. Cousins missed him by 1-2 yards.

Cousins had some nice passes and runs but this was an up and down game for him. Missed some throws.

Every Qb during a course of a game is going to miss some. Again KC gave the team a chance to win and the D allows KC to get in FG range within seconds.

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.

Defense needs to cut down on the big plays. Take away last week, its been at least 1 a week and this one came at worse possible time. Biggest issue is letting qb outside of pocket. We're not sticking with guys when the QB breaks contain. We should have had a 2nd chance in overtime. Frustrating how easy they got down the field.

SIAP.... terrible timeout by Gruden with 55 (?) seconds. You either score a TD and win, or make a FG snd go to OT.

On the final big play to get them in range, here was no reason for Spaight to leave Albert Wilson. The second he stepped up Wilson was wide open.

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.

A lot to be angry about.

It should have been a fireable offense for Bruce Allen to not find quality replacements for Garcon and DJax. I know Pryor had a lucky touchdown (Watch the replay he nearly drops it and falls over his own feet), but he is garbage.

Doctson is a total waste here - all he does is milk injuries, steal money, and repeatedly disappoint.

Bashaud Breeland sucks - he has been disgraceful for the past two seasons and still has kept his job.

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.

First off KC is arguable the best team in the NFL right now. We played them at their house, a historically hard place to win. I think we held our own considering myself included had this team going 0-4 to start the season after the Philly game. We have lost to Philly and KC and have beaten LAR and OAK. All 4 of those teams seem fairly legit this season, especially their offenses.

Last night once Norman went down it was going be hard for us to win this game. That had to have thrown Greg's plan into a tail spin. Offense needed to step even more so, they did not.

I will agree at least in the beginning here the gamble with PG/Djax is starting to bite this team in the foot.

Still plenty of games to go, at 2 and 2 we are right in the mix with the NFC East.

HTTR!

Always sucks to lose a tough one but I think we need some perspective. We took the best team in the league down to the wire on the road. I think we’ve got much more to be happy about than not.

MTK 10-03-2017 08:46 AM

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.

Shitting on Doctson makes no sense, he was a tough catch away from being a hero, he probably makes that catch 9 out of 10 times. Plenty of good receivers in this league make similar drops every week.

SFREDSKIN 10-03-2017 08:52 AM

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.

Things started going downhill after Kelley left the game. We were running the ball and mixing with CT, Perine came in and had 2 bad plays, there went our running game and went to the air. This team does better when the play calling is 50/50. Pryor had some drops including alligator arms on a sure 1st down, dropped others, Reed wasn’t on the same page as Kirk on another, Kirk over threw Grant on another. Need to bench Perine and play Brown.

metalskins 10-03-2017 08:55 AM

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.

I don't know about Alex Smith being over the line on that last big pass, but in my opinion, that would have been a non-issue had Doctson held onto that TD pass. Boneheaded penalties and turnovers willl kill a team's chances almost 100% of the time, and last night was no different. But still, if KC turns out to be the best team in the league, then what does that say about the Redskins, who had so many injuries on defense last night, kept shooting themselves in the foot, and still had an opportunity to come out with a win? I think our team has taken the next step.

Overall we played a SB contender on the road to the last 4 secs. You can't be mad at that. Plus all the damn injuries. We'll bounce back in a couple weeks

I stated it before, but we need some growth from Kelly and Perine. But Mack needs a chance to start imo.

True but it has been painful watching those two struggle plus it has limited Crowder now that he is being more of the focus of the defense. We have been spoiled at WR for a few years now. Hard to go from a Caddy to a Ford.

Ruhskins 10-03-2017 09:50 AM

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.

Honestly, on the 3rd and 2, I was really hoping that they would not go deep. I just felt it was too risky and would have preferred something short to complete the first down. Given how banged up the defense was, I wish Jay would have managed the clock better.

I get the instinct of going for the TD, but not on a 3rd down.

I still feel that we've lost a lot of games due to missed early opportunities. The way the Defense played in the first half, the offense should have put up more than 10 points.
