Re: Nick Rose
These fuckin injuries have been brutal. Fuck
|
Re: Nick Rose
Well SS, congratulations on getting your wish to replace one of the most inaccurate field goal kickers in the history of the NFL.
|
Re: Nick Rose
Not good. Hasn't even kicked in a NFL regular season game.
|
Re: Nick Rose
He looks like he uses the word bruh a lot.
|
Re: Nick Rose
Damn it, I was hooping for Ray Finkle.

He looks like Jay Cutler, the even-more-stoned than usual version. |
Re: Nick Rose
Lmao ughgghhhhhh cross your fingers peeps
|
Re: Nick Rose
That picture looks like someone that got a DUI for smoking pot. Zero alcohol involved.
|
Re: Nick Rose
For some reason, Nick Rose looks like he belongs in the SNL skit "the Californians", the one about the soap opera and driving direction.

Jay Cutler always looks like someone pissed in his cornflakes. |

From the looks of the picture, the guy looks like he would be so ignorant to the fact that he's kicking the game winner that he thinks nothing about it and just goes and kicks the field goal and realizing afterwards that, "Brahhh....that was soooo the game winner! Righteous!!!!" |

Kid has a strong leg, but very different when he has to kick under MNF pressure on the road.

Re: Nick Rose
He only made 66% of his kicks in college? That sucks! What other competition did we bring in? That’s the best we could do? Fuck
|
Re: Nick Rose
Well, if he can be accurate within 45 yards out and keep kicking the ball in the end zone on kick offs, then that's hopefully enough to get us through the rest of the season. Who knows? Maybe he turns out to be a stud.

71% |
Re: Nick Rose
71%
Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't 71% for field goal kickers not bad? How many of those were super long kicks? |
Re: Nick Rose
I don't really care for the stats.
Kickers are odd creatures, no telling what they are going to do. Look at Roberto Aguayo, best kicker in college but couldn't make it in the NFL. He might get his head straight and turn out to be a good kicker down the road but right now he can't kick. This Spicoli kid has the leg, hopefully he's got his shit together now. |

It’s not good |
Re: Nick Rose
Best case scenario Gruden decides we can't trust Rose and decides we have to go for touchdowns. He has used hopkins as a crutch for too long.

Darn it! Back when I was in school, 71% was passing lol! |

But with his field-goal percentage accuracy not being very good it would be interesting to know who the kickers were that were brought in to compete for the job. I’m all for giving someone a second chance but it would have been nice to get a kicker who had NFL experience, hopefully he won’t let the pressure get to him |

Re: Nick Rose
The team announced Monday that they have claimed Nick Rose off of waivers and waived Travis Coons. Rose was dropped by the Redskins when they activated Dustin Hopkins from injured reserve.
Rose made 10-of-11 field goals and 18-of-20 extra points in eight games for Washington this season. Chargers claim Nick Rose, waive Travis Coons – ProFootballTalk I liked Nick. Seemed like he had a live leg. Would trust him to hit a 50+ vs Hopkins ... but no biggie. |

Not saying Hopkins is bad, just didn't see how it mattered, unless you didn't want to pay Hopkins and another kicker, but that's pretty petty. |
Re: Nick Rose
Didnt realize the guy made a total of $1,000 prior to joining the skins. This has us paying him 246k so that is one happy dude that we picked up the phone and called him.
Now he has pretty good regular season game tape to send out, already picked up by Chargers .... i think we did that young mans career a solid. Might have never cracked the league. https://overthecap.com/player/nick-rose/5159 |
Re: Nick Rose
Rose was rock solid and better than any of us could have expected. Best of luck in the future.
|
Re: Nick Rose
I'm sure the Skins had a good reason to bring back Hopkins. Best of luck to Rose in the future, when he came in I didn't have high hopes but he did about as good as you can do under the circumstances. Glad he got decently compensated for his time too. Hopefully he lasts with the Chargers.

Re: Nick Rose
Hey i was ready to ride with him for longer if we needed to....
