Redskins over Cards postgame
Big ups to the D, but mostly to Gabbert for being terrible. If I were a Cards fan I’d be pissed they’re trying to sell fans the idea that he’s a potential starter next year. He’s awful.

Re: Redskins over Cards postgame
Anthony Lanier II and Preston Smith get game balls.

Re: Redskins over Cards postgame
With Lanier coming on our DL is looking dangerous for next year

Add Allen, Ionnadis, resign Murphy and move him to the DL and we have a very solid line. We need to draft a pass rusher that will wreak havoc. |

Ugly W but at least it's a W. Hope Dallas losses

If we could get JG back on a reasonable deal I’d be all for it. Sounds like we wants more opportunities elsewhere though.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk[/quote] It means he's gonna put up 4 sacks over the next 2 games so he can get a nice free agency deal, because we aren't using him right. I'll give him credit for the sack he had today but he hasn't done jack all year, he can get to steppin for all I care. Also on the subject of gettin' to steppin', I agree with Chico, our special teams is hilariously bad. The 2nd half kickoff where 6+ guys totally forgot someone has to catch the ball was literally the worst special teams play I've seen by the Skins in years. A competent qb on the Cards side turns that into 7 and takes total control of the game there. We got lucky on that one. And we also got lucky on that call for leaping on the back of the Cards lineman. It pains me that we half ass all of our field goal blocks every time now, but to get penalized 15 yards on top of that for some absolute dumb shit is just adding insult to injury. |
Re: Redskins over Cards postgame
Like matt said, if it wasn't gabbert we would have lost by 10 today. Our O sucks

I love that idea. Murphy is strong and so quick off the snap. |

Won't trent be suspended still?

Good for Kirk showing Arizona what he could do for them.

Re: Redskins over Cards postgame
Outside of signing Cousins, our total focus should be finally building an effective running game.

Need some help on DL as well, have got to stop the run. |
Re: Redskins over Cards postgame
I cant lie, was hoping we would lose .. but seeing how bad the D wanted it at the end, made me change my mind. Let the guys win out and have some feel good moments. They work hard, play hard, get the win.
Even if it was against a Gabbert led Cards team. |

Zack Brown should be back. Our ILB position has been a MASH unit, when Foster went to IR, stopping the run got worse. |

no doubt |
Re: Redskins over Cards postgame
Run the ball, stop the run. Even in today's era, its still the most important thing on O/D. Besides maybe a S, all of our picks should be spent on upgrading the units needed for the run game/defense.

Kotwika sucks but I blame Gruden for this shitshow. Gruden picked his WR's and RB's but none of them contribute on special teams. (For the record, I don't consider Crowders 30th ranked punt return average as a contribution to Teams) You can't have a team where your 4th and 5th WR's don't play ST but we started the year with Grant and Quick as our 4th and 5th WRs. Our backup corners(Dunbar and Moreau) are great on special teams coverage. Talent evaluation on this team is horrible. Vigils play makes me wonder why we kept Compton this year. This team is crippled with slow players. |

They're good back up and special teams players. They should never be full time starters. If we could put Compton's mental make up into Spaight's body we'd have Ray Lewis. |
Re: Redskins over Cards postgame
Yop Vigil is a really nice surprise.
With Foster, Allen, Ioannidis and Murphy back 100% our D could be pretty darn good next season. Have to sign Zach Brown back, maybe transition to a 4-3, especially if it's a better way to use Ryan Anderson. Fuller again had a solid game. Love corners making plays against the run! Fuller has been very good this yr, our CB's have really stepped it up mostly.

Because he is a nothing guy who wouldnt start on 30 of the 32 teams in the NFL. |

Grant is definitely 1 of the best 160 WRs in the NFL, based on 5 to a team, there's a spot for him on the roster. Never seen a guy who seems like a great teammate and is under a cheap contract get rheemed so much. He's gonna finish the year with 500+ yards and 4+ TDs. I think he's earned his checks this year. |

I agree. He's been our most dependable receiver this year, which really is an indictment of our receiving corps. Still, I think he's reached his ceiling. He's never gonna be a clutch guy, or a guy who makes athletic plays over db's, or a guy who catches everything that comes near his hands. But over the course of a year, he'll catch 2/3 of the passes thrown his way. This year we desperately need him, any other year he'd probably be relegated to backup duty. |

I dont mind Grant. He got some flack for his play at the end of last year. Slipping on that route that led to an int in a crucial moment wasnt great. Running short of the sticks on 3rd downs, etc. He's stepped up this year and has been serviceable. But he is fine for what he is ... on the flip side, you do want your 4-5 WRs to be contributing on teams. Much like your 4-5 CBs. |
Re: Redskins over Cards postgame
Grant is fine, it’s not his fault he’s been asked to play as much as he has. He’s clearly a #4 type of WR.

I really don't want to see Kerrigan and Smith out in space trying to cover. It's painful to watch. |

Anderson would be much better suited as a strong-side LB. Re-sign Brown to play MLB. We have wasted 8 years dabbling with the 3-4 without a real NT.

That was more of an awful throw than a nice INT, covering just isn't their thing. |
