2018 Mock Drafts
I used firstpick.com:
Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 13:*Vita Vea, DT, Washington (B-) Round 2 Pick 13:*Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma (A) Round 3 Pick 13:*D.J. Chark, WR, LSU (A+) Round 4 Pick 13:*Uchenna Nwosu, OLB, Southern California (A-) Round 5 Pick 13:*Sean Welsh, C, Iowa (B+) Round 6 Pick 13:*Bo Scarbrough, RB, Alabama (A) Round 7 Pick 13:*Cody OConnell, OG, Washington State (A) |

I'd be shocked if Baker is available in 2nd round. I'd take him in the 2nd even if we had Kirk. That becomes 1st rounder in 2019 or a way to trade back and get extra picks in later rounds. I want R. Smith from GA with our 1st pick. |
Re: 2018 Mock Drafts
If we don't have Kirk:
Round 1 Pick 13: Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming (A) Round 2 Pick 13: Courtland Sutton, WR, Southern Methodist (A) Round 3 Pick 13: Ross Pierschbacher, OG, Alabama (A) Round 4 Pick 13: Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, OLB, Oklahoma (A+) Round 5 Pick 13: Brandon Facyson, CB, Virginia Tech (A+) Round 6 Pick 13: Royce Freeman, RB, Oregon (A+) Round 7 Pick 13: Kentavius Street, DT, North Carolina State (A) |
Re: 2018 Mock Drafts
After Thompson broke his leg, KC didn’t pass for 300+ yards the rest of the year...
We will draft a RB in the first or second round. |
Re: 2018 Mock Drafts
Best O-Line in the NFL next year if this happened:
1: G QUENTON NELSON - NOTRE DAME 2: DL DARON PAYNE - ALABAMA 3: RB RASHAAD PENNY - SAN DIEGO STATE 4: WR DANTE PETTIS - WASHINGTON 5: CB BRANDON FACYSON - VIRGINIA TECH 6: LB SKAI MOORE JR. - SOUTH CAROLINA 7: S TRAYVON HENDERSON - HAWAII |

Re: 2018 Mock Drafts
I used fanspeak.com, difficult option where players don't fall as far as with the standard option. Quick and fun, shows players stats.
1. Vita Vea, DL, Washington 2. Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming 3. Troy Fumagalli, TE, Wisconsin 4. Sony Michel, RB, Georgia 5. Chad Thomas, Edge, Miami 6. Steven Parker, S, Oklahoma 7. Justin Jacksoin, RB, Northwestern 7. Kentavius Street, DL, NC State |

Vita Vea would make our front 7 instantly the best in the league next to Allen, Kerrigan, etc. He's probably my top target if we still have Kirk. Doubt Josh Allen will be there, but nice! Fumagalli is a beast, we need a TE that can block and be a solid receiver. There's a few in this draft, and he's one. Sony Michele is a solid pickup in the 4th, at an area of need. I don't think that he'd be 'the' answer at RB, but he could definitely be part of the rotation and has the potential to be a big contributor. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |
Re: 2018 Mock Drafts
There is no way J Allen or Baker last that long, so many teams need QBs
|

I want Nick Chubb at 13 unless obviously we dont have KC.

Re: 2018 Mock Drafts
I think I like Michel over Chubb. He reminds me of Alvin Kamara, except maybe faster. I hope he falls to us in the 2nd. If we have cousins, I think we still need too much on defense not to use the 1st.

Isaiah Wynn, OT/G/C, Georgia*
Height: 6-2. Weight: 302.* Projected 40 Time: 5.10.* Projected Round (2018): 2-3.* 1/6/18:*Wynn has impressed scouts this season as an excellent run blocker for the Bulldogs. He blocks with aggression and has a temperament that is hard to find in college blockers. In pass protection, Wynn has been very dependable as well.* Because he is shorter and doesn't have ideal length, some sources think that Wynn could move to guard or center in the NFL. Wynn started at left guard in 2016, but scouts think he is athletic enough to also play center. Wynn's size and skill set has drawn comparisons to Kelvin Beachum, who is undersized but has managed to carve out a career at left tackle in the NFL. Wynn is just a natural football player who finds a way to get the job done, thus he might end up sticking at left tackle.
Maybe, but I would sign FA G Norwell and save the picks for defense
Yeah, he's apparently the best guard in the league and young, but he's probably going to command close to 13 mil / year. I'm not sure we can sink that much into G. Certainly not if we sign Cousins.
Also, we have our own homegrown talent to sign (Spencer Long). Im not sure we need a high priced probowler, it's already our strongest unit. Injuries do happen though, and it seems like you need to always be developing young lineman. I really like some of our backup guys like Nsekhe and Kouandjo, but we need a young versatile guy or two that can be plugged in anywhere on the line and be at least good and potentially develop into the next starter wherever they fit best on the line. Can't rule it out until we know what's going to happen with Kirk. And I can't definitively say that letting Kirk go and drafting Baker wouldn't be the best thing for our future. I'd rather keep Kirk and draft a defensive lineman at 13. But who knows. |

Re: 2018 Mock Drafts
Baker Mayfield Scouting report from Walter football
Strengths: Play-maker Gunslinger attitude Instincts Can be an accurate passer with good ball placement Throws receivers open Excellent touch passer Throws a very catchable ball Superb ball placement and timing to lead receivers for yards after the catch Throws with good timing Mobility Escapability to extend plays Difficult to sack Good at throwing on the run Can pick up yards on the ground Enough arm to make all the throws in the NFL Leadership potential All of the ones in bold are the big pros he can bring and is why many compare him to Russell Wilson. Weaknesses: Undersized; shorter than ideal Poor footwork Gets happy feet in the pocket Inconsistent field vision Can have issues reading the field Teams question how will he perform when forced to stay in the pocket? Didn't play a lot of top competition Maturity Will need more development for working under center Transition from a college-style to pro-style offense |

Re: 2018 Mock Drafts
From the Oklahoma games I've seen, his teammates seam to love the guy and rally around him. I think he's worth the chance if there at 13. And hope his play (play only) is like a young Drew Brees or R. Wilson and less like Manziel/RG3. Hell, I'd take him, playing like this years Keenum. All QB have a risk, sometimes you just gotta go for it.

1. We don't know what they can afford until Cousins is figured out. 2. The FO brought him in on a steal of a deal, and now it seems like they are evaluating what he's worth. Don't you think it's prudent to do those type of evaluations, or should they just sign good players to whatever contract they want? Being prudent with the cap is smart not stupid. Perhaps you are saying that you believe that they will not properly evaluate him because of their intelligence level? Well, in his case, they did a better job of it than 31 other teams last year. Sooo tired of the mindless blaming of the FO. If you're going to criticize please add something to the conversation, hate for hate sake is exhausting. We get it, they've made mistakes, let's break those mistakes down and compare to others, or evaluate potential future decisions they should make, or drool over potential draft picks or FA, or in this case actually break down what we think a player is worth and why, but please let's spare each other from mindless emotional reactions, it's not a game day thread. 3. I really like him, and at times he was a stud, but he sucks in coverage and without JA our run defense sucked. Ultimately, I think he's an impact player when he has other impact players around him, and even when he doesn't he is a tackling machine. That's probably worth 7 mil, if you have the cap space, IMO. Mason Rudolph is the most recent QB name associated with the skins from this draft that I've heard. Though, Mayfield is the most popular one right now. That said, it might work out well top be able to go bpa defense in the first round and nab Rudolph in the 2nd. Most believe he's a developmental pick, but maybe the best option available will be a project to sit behind Colt for a year or so while they continue to build the defense. Anywho, this clip helped his case with me:
