Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Players I like for the Skins on Day 3:
1. Tyrell Crosby OT (Move to LG) - Run blocker. 2. Bradley Bozeman OC - Solid all-around player. 3. Will Clapp (C/G) - Big, tough SEC player. 4. Ian Thomas TE - Smooth route runner who can get downfield. 5. Greg Stroman CB - Playmaker and a great punt returner. |

I hope BPA and not need which in later rounds gets dicey. Maurice Hurst? Shaquem Griffin? No idea if there are any good guards (which would be need based). I also wonder about the QB from Richmond as an investment for the future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
I don't have any quotes but Smoot and Portis were hilarious on 980 this morning.
They made the point that all 3 of our tackles had major injuries last year. That puts the right spin on the 3rd round tackle selection |
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Would be very happy with Hurst, Sweat or Crosby.
Edit: or Griffin. Reminds me of Sua. But not a bitch |
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Take a chance get Hurst, don’t be pussies!!
|
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Hurst, Bozeman, or a corner.
|
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Damn... I didn't want the Giants to take Lauletta. I think that makes their QB room solid. :(
|
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Pussies!! If you are going to waste a pick, at least make it a good one. Blah pick.
|
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Averett pr Nelson would have been my pick there but this guy has potential for sure.
|
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Troy Apke is a very underrated SAF prospect.
Love the pick. |
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
I like this draft so far

Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Not on any guru’s list of best remaining players. He may have gone undrafted. This ones a head scratcher for sure.

Apke seems like a high upside guy....his physical abilities seem off the charts

Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
I do not like this pick at all. Gonna be a long wait to the 5th round.
|
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
I know nothing of Apke, but he certainly squares up when he tackles and I like that.

Huh? He was on ESPN’s board of best remaining one of the 15 best remaining when we took him. there was no chance he was going undrafted. |

Ok well that makes me feel better knowing that someone other than the redskins thought he was good. I’ve obviously never heard of him before and Didn’t see him on the nfl list or sb nation list linked in this thread at all. |
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
As per NFL.com:
Apke's production in key indicators for the position, like ball production and tackle consistency, are lacking. With just one year as a full-time starter, there simply isn't enough impressive tape to get excited about. He has decent size and could put together a solid workout, but may not offer enough range in coverage or thump as a tackler to ever be a full-time contributor. Apke may need to find his niche on special teams to earn any early playing time." So we got a work out guy with limited skills. A special teams guy. |

He was on Gil Brandt's top 150. You have 30+ picks before our next one, so if they love this guy then take him. |

How much do you know about Apke? To consider him a reach? |

They call him a better athlete than football player right now but with all the tools to develop into a starter. Good man to man guy. |

Good point, it’s gonna be a long wait. |
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
Apke’s workout was really good as far as I’ve heard and seen. That has to be why he went as high as he did. We just saw a lot of potential! I like it! 4.34 40 yard time!

Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
He's fast enough to play FS but can he play FS? A lot of his highlights are down around LOS. Need someone who can back up Montae at FS.

I think he is going to be an immediate and impactful ST’s player. I think he will also be good depth at S with an outside chance to start one day. But I think with this guys speed and athleticism he has ST ace written all over him. It is a solid pick. |

Fast enough? he has elite speed and 40"+ vertical. I really like this pick for his special teams coverage ability. We need a special teams ace and he has the physical tool to keep up with any returner in the league. If he has to play safety then we are in trouble. |
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
The Bucs and their pirate crap is so effin corny. Lol

I couldn't tell but can he be a returner? With that speed, might make for some good punt returns. |

Could probably play CB in a pinch.

He sounds like a guy who is going to go to the mat and do what the team needs. Combine that with the physical skills he clearly has, and our DB coach (who I also think is outstanding) and I see a guy who could explode in the NFL. Maybe not, but he has 2years solid ST experience which makes him valuable while he learns from our strong core players. Thanks for the read. |
Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
49ers with the lamest idea of how to make pick by far. Terrible.

Re: Day 3 thread rounds 4-7
I assume we pick a guard next, thoughts?
