Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
Nice bounce back win [emoji106]

Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
Gutsy win...
Defense should be celebrated here. AP is a god send...Oline held it together. Hopkins game ball sharing with Josh Norman. Nice win. |
Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
Very close. Offense still needs to get in sync, especially OL pass protect. Defense looks good, 3 to 4 man front and keeps contain on qb's.
Next few games are the get right games. |
Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
This is the Alex Smith effect. Isn't pretty but it's a Win. AD has been our MVP and nobody saw that coming. Defense played well.
Still need a WR (Cooper) And Edge rushers big time Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

AP is the heart of that offense.
Glad to see Norman play with some fire. I’m a bit concerned with defense playcalling. Makes me long for the days of Haz’s repeated house blitzes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
AP was All Day today.
Special Teams won their battle. Both our TEs were good/great. Defense for 90% of the game. And 10% bonus for having a scared coach. So 100% for the D. Forcing turnovers. Season is still alive. We won a game we had to win, so I'll say no negatives. HTTR! |
Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
And a big shout out to Hopkins specifically. He was excellent all game.
|
Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
Congrats, guys! I hate it, though.
I said I thought it was a good chance you take this from us, but I didn't think it would be a game of 3 turnovers and playing catch-up the whole day. I do hope you'll at least try to make this up a little by beating the Falcons and Bucs for us. |
Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
Deal as long as you guys take out the Eagles.
|
Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
3 - 2 before Dallas week. Still somethings to clean up but they won. A win is a win.
|
Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
Game ball Dustin Hopkins.

But he does win, and its not my favorite team. |
Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
Positives:
Richardson Quick Davis AP Scherff Norman DJ Hopkins Negatives: Dunbar Gruden gambled a little bit too much Norman Lack of pass rush scheme? Smith is average at best and looked scared at times, blew 2 golden opportunities inside the 50 before 1/2 time. |
Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
What is everybody opinion of bill callahan? I have followed him for many years and i have never been excited about him. It goes back to his days as the head coach of Nebraska. I understand he is well respected but we have an all pro, pro bowler, and really good RT, yet we struggle with basics.
If you look back at his time in Dallas, their running game exploded after he left. There could be many reason why, but if i look at the body of work since his day in Oakland, it does not stand out. |

Our OL with the type of talent under achieves. Our only hole is LG and even so, it should be able to protect better or is it Smith holding the ball too long? |
Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
D-line did enough, but they need a sack once in a while. Cam got into a little quick-hitting rhythm on nearly every possession, but D stiffened at the right times.
We would have won by more with CT. Good to see Reed and tight ends picking up some slack. Props to the old gents — Davis and AP. Alex and Jay need to find ways of getting the ball delivered more quickly. Hopkins, you are money. A good W when things could really have gotten ugly. |

Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
Hate to say it, but Dallas is looking good today. I don't know how Alex is going to get the ball off with Dallas' pass rush. We are not doing a very good job at pass protecting. A lot of times he doesn't have time to go down field. He is not going to be able to check down all the time and beat Dallas. I do think our oline is very overated.

Talking about BS trying to turn a defender instead of driving him back with power. We have huge stout mofos. Get them firing into people moving them. It's harder to get off a block if your going backwards. I think he is over rated. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |
Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
Nice win, I could have went without the Panthers getting inside the 20 on that last drive before turning it over on downs.

Glad to be eating crow! Taste good after a win! Lots of improvement after saints game!

Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
We finally beat Cam Newton.
I don't see anyone mentioning Doctsons name. Okay, he didn't have a 3 TD game, but he did catche multiple passes. |

Here is why Swearinger got the penalty for taunting at the end. Cam talking smack about going 4-1 before the game. Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
While Norman, AP and Hopkins get a share of the games...the defense stoping the Carolina run game was big, Cam throwing 40 times isn’t gonna win them games.

too bad KD didn't sign with the Wizards:

Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
Cam is cocky he always has been, he's a good QB but will never be a GREAT QB, lacks the accuracy. We almost chocked that game away yesterday but victory Monday feels great. First thing I heard this morning was HTTR on Sirius NFL, it was awesome.

I wonder if the primary focus was containing Cam and not allowing him to use his legs. I hope that's the case, because the lack of pressure was pathetic. |

I'd expect to see the same next week too. |

"The Redskins are 1-1 in their last 2 games, 2-2 in their last 4 and 3-3 in their last 6. They're 5-5 in their last 10, 6-6 in their last 12, 7-7 in their last 14. They're 10-10 in their last 20. They're 16-16-1 in their last 33. They're 18-18-1 in their last 37." Dan Steinberg

Re: Skins 23 Panthers 17 post game
I don't know if it's the aftertaste from the Saints game, but yesterday's win was unconvincing. The team looked shaky (especially Smith), defense looked very soft at times, no pressure, and the offense had to settle for field goals and was overall not effective. Coaching again looked subpar. Sorry but I'm not feeling optimistic going forward.

This! They lose a lot of these games with different QBs who make the passes at the end of that last drive to get a TD, while Cam was either not on the same page with his receivers or just completely missed on his last 3 throws inside the 20. |

You could tell the Dline was focused containing McCaffery first. McCaffrey had been one of the rushing leaders per Avg yards per game... Payne and Allen doing their job. Also Cam will get his scramble yards, but he really didn't get going until the 4th quarter...mostly contained til them. |

I remember the commentators talking about those 2 zone read plays where Kerrigan went right at him taking him out and not even looking at Cam...it was the right call. |

WOW[/QUOTE]Gruden and Jason Garret are both career 8-8 coaches, they might get a special season or rock bottom season mixed in but neither is going to be a longtern playoff contending coach. Too many bad decisions at the wrong time. I have been consistently on the go for it on 4th down bandwagon, but yesterday when Gruden went for it instead of pinning them deep i was ticked off. Our biggest plays had been special teams and defense. On 4th and 4 punt it and pin them at the 2 and let the defense force something. Right idea but at the wrong time of the game. And that is Gruden to a tee. At least he trusts Smith with the qb sneak. |
