Re: Guice Looking Good
Hope so

Re: Guice Looking Good
The biggest thing will be building the muscles up around his knees and hopefully avoiding another ACL injury. I have high hopes for Guice, and can't wait to see him on the field next year. I just hope he truly does come back stronger than before.
|
Re: Guice Looking Good
The good part about his injury was the timing. He should be ready to rock for training camp.

Re: Guice Looking Good
Well the beauty of the timing is that it was so early it left him plenty of time to rehab for next year. A 2 month setback isn't ideal but all things considered he should be fine for next year as long as it doesn't continue.
My big concern is hopefully his rehab focuses as much on his legs as his upper body strength. As a RB that should be his primary concern. We hear stories all the time of players devoting too much time to one particular aspect of the body during injury rehab and that's how recurring injuries happen. |
Re: Guice Looking Good
Hopefully he doesn't have to battle anymore infections . He already had a few infections after surgery what kind of doctors do we use that getting infections is common
|
Re: Guice Looking Good
All that picture shows is that he hasn't become a complete fatass. I hate these types of "News" stories.

It's not only the doctor responsible for preventing post-surgical infection. Patient compliance is a massive factor. |

Schneed, do you work in healthcare industry? I'm just wondering because your explanations of infections (in this and other threads) are right on spot. |

Yes. Not as a provider, I'm an executive - my department provides data and analytics for both clinical and financial decision support. So we end up meeting with doctors to understand how the medicine works, which helps us in turn understand how the business works. |

Sounds lucrative. You guys hiring? ;) |

LOL, they're doing face transplants these days, I don't see why tibia/fibulas can't work! |

That's cool! One of the perks of working in healthcare organization, you get to learn lot of things about health and healthcare industry.. I work as QI (data analytics and audit) for integrated health center, and I'm trying to work my way up to similar position in near future. |

Re: Guice Looking Good
Guice got injured early in the preseason....hopefully he'll be cleared to participate in full minicamp by late May.

Schneed going full Oprah...
You get a job and you get a job and you get a job. |

He looks in great shape.
That was a little bit of cutting, good to see. You can tell he's ginger with it but that's to be expected as he works back. Some cutting is definitely progress. |

If we can get him 100% that would be huge |
Re: Guice Looking Good
Adrian Peterson will pay dividends with Guices recovery. If anybody knows how to bounce back quick from an acl year is its AP.
|
Re: Guice Looking Good
Doesn't matter how he looks in shorts and a tee shirt. Rob Kelly looks good in shorts and a tee shirt running around. All that matters is when he puts on the pads and starts getting hit. Then we'll know what kind of a player Guice is.
|
Re: Guice Looking Good
If healthy, I believe he can play at All-Pro level. Keep him fresh by playing AP and others and draft QB high next year, so we can build the team around him.
Really excited about what this guy can do. |

RB is a, if not the, position that is almost impossible to evaluate without pads and defenders. Timing, vision, and slipperyness are top qualities. A lot to be hopeful about but coming off a knee injury, especially for an RB is always iffy. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |
Re: Guice Looking Good
He'll be fine and dominant.
|
Re: Guice Looking Good
Would we rather see him in crutches right now? Of course what really matters is when he hits the field in pads. But it's good to see him on track right now to be back full strength.
|
Re: Guice Looking Good
Guice is going to be a monster if he can stay healthy
|
Re: Guice Looking Good
All I'm saying is I would keep expectations low on Guice. He's never played a NFL game and hasn't played since his bowl game in 2018. The potential is there obviously.

Re: Guice Looking Good
Getting Guice back is like getting another high round pick at little cost.
And what I cant wrap my head around is why not build around him and the run game....hello, look at Dallas. We are too fixated on the QB |

We are too fixated on the QB
Good point, and justifies your intense focus on the TE position, needing an effective in-line blocker at that spot (effective at minimum, dominant preferably). As for Guice, I'll personally be shocked if he's not a stud. There are not many things with this team I'm more sure about. |
Re: Guice Looking Good
Im really bullish on Guice...just want him healthy.
If we take our first 2 picks and go TE and then LG...wow...could really raise the profile of the offense without worrying about QB. |

But the TE needs to be a blocker and a receiver. Not a soft hands receiver that wont do the hard work. We also need a blocking and receiving Fullback. But our coach is fixated on the 3WR sets, has not blocking TE's or FB's and then wonders why we cannot run the ball. Abandons the run all together when we lose the lead in games. |

The fact the FO did give a look at a converted TE from Oline whose primary function is blocking...kinda gives me hope. |
Re: Guice Looking Good
I've mentioned this a few times, a few years ago I think they should have told Reed to lose 20 pounds and play the X WR. He can block DB's, he can't block NFL LB's. Oh well...

I'm looking forward to seeing the 2 headed monster of Derrius Guice and Adrian Peterson...

I like this idea better than any I've heard. He is an awesome receiver. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |
