Re: HTTR Always
I'm hoping the best news comes after Sunday's game, saying Bruce Allen was canned. This would make my season.

Re: HTTR Always
Just listened to Adrian Peterson’s interview with JPFinlay On his podcast... man I love his attitude. This is the kind of dude I’d like the team to pay to stick around for a couple years. It might not seem to make sense if we’re in a rebuilding mode, but a guy like AP could be the lone brightspot for an otherwise bad team and his attitude could be contagious for all the young players we’ll have.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I hope Guice/AP are 1 & 2 next year. I'm really pumped about Guice. I'm selfishly so happy about that vitriol he got leading up to the draft because he seems like a legit good dude on top of being great player. |

If he can, then I’m all for it. There is no way in hell satisfied with rob fucking Kelly or Perine in that role. If it’s not AP, we need to go out and get someone else. |

I know AP is getting up there in age, but he is not typical for a player that old. We all hope for the best with Guice, but you know how ACL tears and what not are. No guarantee Guice will be what he was before. I do like the idea of a one-two punch between Guice and AP. Should keep both guys fresh. My favorite memory is Mark Brunell and Santana Moss torching the Cowboys in MNF in 2005. The two long touchdown passes. |
Re: HTTR Always
Since Guice is coming back from injury and AP is old rotate them like NE does with their backs. Just let AP know his role before resigning him.

Re: HTTR Always
Nine picks in this upcoming draft. While we're waiting to hear about how compensatory picks will be awarded, it looks like it will be this:
- 1st round - 2nd round - 3rd round - 3rd round (Cousins compensatory) - 5th round - 5th round (Trent Murphy compensatory) - 6th round (Ryan Grant compensatory) - 7th round - 7th round (Niles Paul compensatory) We traded the 4th for Ha Ha. If we keep him, great. If we don't, we should get a 2020 compensatory back. And we used a 6th in last year's supplemental on Adonis Alexander which I'll still take. Developmental player with upside at an important position. Four picks in the first three rounds is good stuff. Could see a WR, an athletic LB, a talented Guard, and a safety coming out of those picks. |
Re: HTTR Always
And call me crazy, but I'd be excited about seeing what Colt McCoy can do with a fully healthy offense and an offseason of reps as the starter (since Alex will still be healing).
|
Re: HTTR Always
As frustrating as this year was, it's the NFL. You're never as far away as you think. What could have been if our QB didn't break his leg and we kept Brandon Scherff healthy in particular.
Let's see what happens in the offseason - if we get a new coach there's a lot of reason to believe the defense could be better under a new coach. If Jay stays and coaches Colt with Guice, there's reason to believe the offense could be surprising next season when healthy. I think there's more of a foundation here than the despair in the air would lead you to believe. |

AP has proven he can still carry a heavy workload and excel at it. Guice can get a few series a game and gradually get experience over time. AP and guice have actually spoken about it, and are excited about the possibility. Having them both in the game means the team would never be taking a “play off” and would be going full throttle 100% of the time. I think they could be a great tandem like in New Orleans with kamara and Ingram from last year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

After his performance this season, why would AP be the back up? He was awesome this year. We don't know what DG will be. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |

Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
Because Guice is the future and its smart to limit an aging RB carries. Also, Guice ability to catch the ball was heralded the short time he was here. The ability for a RB to pass catch out the back field has become a weapon that elevate offense. AP can do it, but it’s not as natural. I fully believe we can use both in an offense that is versatile as well as balance. Plus look at our WR....yes pass catching options are needed. |
Re: HTTR Always
AP knows full well he would be looking at splitting carries with the young buck in the building.
|
Re: HTTR Always
Yeah and I think he knows Guice would deserve more of the carries. I'm extremely high on Guice, there's plenty of reason to believe he's very close to the talent that is Saquon Barkley. We'd have to see how he bounces back from the knee but I'd honestly be surprised if Peterson beats him out. Remember, Guice is a much more impressive receiver out of the backfield so in today's NFL he's got that versatility you really need.

Re: HTTR Always
I don't really care who starts but it would be fun to watch them combine for 25 or so carries per game. Get Scherff back, draft a stud LG, and keep feeding those 2 all season. Teams wouldn't like playing us.

Re: HTTR Always
Let rookies (Guice) prove they should start. Dont give away something that someone should earn.
AP played hard for us with a painful shoulder injury. Never complained or used it as an excuse. Guice was a great college player. He has not proven it in NFL yet. I hope he becomes a star. |
Re: HTTR Always
It's not as if Guice is a mystery, he was here all last offseason and through a good part of camp and he was definitely looking the part. The coaches have a good idea of what he can do.

Yeah I'm confused by all this 'we don't know what Guice is' talk. The coaches all saw him in camp, so did his teammates, and so did the reporters. Everyone raved.
Did everyone just forget about that? |

Yes you are crazy.I've always liked Colt and I think he could put up some good numbers, but he can't stay healthy,he's good for a backup and thats it,this year finally proved that to me.2 games and he's out for the season.Last time he had any significant playing time splitting with RG3 he got hurt also, and he was what 5 years younger? If he's our starter next year we will need a good backup because I dont think Colt would last past 5 games |

Get the injured guys back, have a good off season, hopefully get a new HC, at the very least a new DC that plays this D to its full potential, hope for less injuries next season, drink a sip of kool aid and believe we have the tools to make some damage in 2019! 25 combined minimum. I’m thinking we might be best suited for a run first offense, like the saints the past couple years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If AP comes back, guice has got to earn his workload. If we keep AP, i want over 2,000 rushing yards combined between them with a fairly even split. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Agree...I like colt but he can’t stay healthy.. After the last several years, im all in for getting rid off the often injured. Reed, Luavo, Colt, Doctson, even CT and it pains me to say that.... |
Re: HTTR Always
The expectation of draft picks in rounds 1, 2 and even 3 is they are supposed to be starters week 1. Example DeRon Payne.....
Guice was the starting running back. Selected in round 2. If this team ends up with Peterson starting in front of Guice week 1 of 2019 season, it is just a demoralizing kick in the crotch to your scouting department and the ability to draft as a whole. If Guice is not the starter, you've wasted a second round pick. I do not see Peterson coming back next season. With 9 draft picks in this years draft, your backup running back is not on the roster yet. Rookies cost less than veterans. |
AP knows full well he would be looking at splitting carries with the young buck in the building.
I think we could see more of a 2 headed monster with those two.....if Gruden can wise up and be more creative he can find ways to have AP and Derrius both in the backfield simultaneously....the defense wouldn't be able to key on both of them...reminds me of Marcus Allen and Bo Jackson together for the Raiders back in the day. |
Re: HTTR Always
If I'm the Skins I'm in no rush to re-sign AP unless he's down for something like a one year $1M or $2M deal. I don't see any team out there rushing out to sign a 34 year old RB. He'll likely be in the same spot he was last year, hanging out waiting for a camp injury.

There is an opportunity to knock the Eagles out of the play-offs, nothing better than to piss in their breakfast cereal.

Re: HTTR Always
Not sure it makes any sense financially for the 'Skins. But rest assured, that with Foles cap number next season, he will not be with the Eagles in 2019.
Lots of talk about Alex Smith not making it back...... IDK, but can we start the 'Foles to Washington' rumors now? Or is it premature? |
Re: HTTR Always
Foles will get paid, we can’t afford another big dollar QB

Re: HTTR Always
As long as Bruce "Wrong Way" Allen is here. I say fuck the Redskins! They don't deserve us as fans.
|
Re: HTTR Always
Thanks AP for the great year you had had, but we need to draft another RB, so if guice gets hurt again we have a RB that can continue for us. Not saying a first or second round, but looking around 4th. If we dont take a QB in the first we need to trade down some to get more picks

Re: HTTR Always
I'm thankful for the fact that this season is almost over. One more day and we won't have to be concerned with who's out for this week, or where our next guard is going to come from.
