Pierre Garcon

Should the Redskins bring him back? Because of the injuries to Crowder last season and the underperformance of the entire WR unit is it worth bringing back Garcon ? He's already familiar with Gruden's system...he's 32 years old but he can still play.

Re: Pierre Garcon

Absolutely not. The team needs more speed all over the field. WR, Linebacker, pass rusher...

Like us to draft a WR as well as add a John Brown, DJax type-vet on the outside WR.

Re: Pierre Garcon

He's still better than what we have now which is sad but I'd rather go young

Re: Pierre Garcon

If his price goes low enough absolutely, I just don't think it will go low enough to make sense for us. I wouldn't pay more than $2M or so per season at this point. Not staying healthy enough.

Re: Pierre Garcon

I doubt Garcon would even want to come here due to our QB situation.. I imagine Garcon will want to go to a contender team to have a chance to get a SB ring before he retires.

Skins moved on at just the right time from Garçon.

True, he has only played 8 games (16 total) in the last two years. And had 1 TD.

No we do not need him

Re: Pierre Garcon

No. We need someone fast who can stretch the field. Garcon was never that player in his prime and he certainly isn't now.

Re: Pierre Garcon

Garcon will be 33 when the season starts. If there is a need at WR, look to the draft. By NFL standards, it is cheap labor with growth potential.

The 2019-2020 vet minimum for a player with 10+ years is approx $1,045,000.
However, if Washington picks a WR in say, the 3rd round, his salary is $743,573.

Re: Pierre Garcon

He supposedly has tailed off drastically and has trouble staying healthy, I'll pass.

I would gladly take Garcon over Josh Doctson....

really? Doctson has been more productive the last two years and his contract was about 75% lower than Garcon.

Doctson has been so disappointing that I would take a 50/50 Garcon over him.

Garcon missed half of the last 2 seasons but on a per game basis, he is far more productive than Doctson.

Doctson is averaging 35 yards a game and has never had a 100+ yard receiving game. he isn't a starter in this league. He can't break tackles and doesn't go over the middle. It's time to move on from him.

Paul Richardson is the only veteran WR we should bring back.
We need to see what the young guys can do.

Re: Pierre Garcon

Im not ready to just write Crowder off. I still think he could be productive and also would be good to see 4 WR sets where both he and Quinn are on the field at the same time causing some matchup problems.

Personally I like Jamison Crowder a lot, and I think [emoji848] that he can still be very productive.

Re: Pierre Garcon

You people tossing around bringing Garcon back....please think about what you are suggesting.

If you are ONE player away from a deep playoff run, and PC is that player....SIGN HIM.

But is that really the state of the team right now? Today? In this conversation? Are the Skins really one player away? Or are there more needs on the roster?

Forget Garcon. And Crowder has ONE more year to prove himself. He is in the final year of his rookie deal. Correct? If the team has NOT extended his contract by now, guess what? They AGREE WITH YOU. Crowder is playing for his contract extension life in 2019.

I am not a Skins fan, but I have been a member of this board for more than 10 years! And you guys deserve BETTER!

Look to the draft for WR, QB and even TE. Free agents to fill some rotational and depth positions. But build through the draft.

To hell with Garcon. He had his chance with Washington. Move on and find the guy that makes a difference.

You guys need to draft Santana Moss v2.........
Hated that guy.......first rate 'Cowboy Killer'.

The only knock on Garcon is that he's a few years older than he was when he left....he did have injuries in SF but what's the difference between Garcon and Mo Harris ? Or Garcon and Trey Quinn? Or Garcon and Cam Simms ?

Garcon can be brought back to have a lesser role than before....just consider him a depth player at this point.

Re: Pierre Garcon

Your backup WRs need to play special teams.

Look, Garçon was a nice player here once upon a time, but it’s over.
