Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Per Adam Schefter,
Colts are the favorite for Collins, 100M in space |
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
[quote=skinsfaninok;1219802]Per Adam Schefter,

But if we made a real, comparable non low ball offer I think we'd have a shot for Collins own personal reasons. But if the boneheads act like themselves and well, do bonehead hit per the norm then we'd have no shot. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Can we just start free agency? This legal tampering thing is silly. The week of the combine should be the legal period since that's when teams start talking anyway.
|
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
I wouldn't go above $10 or $11M a year for Collins. If someone wants to give him an Eric Berry type of deal so be it.
|
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
The #Redskins are actively shopping several players -- including LBs Zach Brown and Mason Foster -- in trade talks and are strong players for C.J. Mosley, sources say. #Ravens have hoped to retain him, but Mosley has a huge market. Washington would need cap space to do it.

Eric Berry is good...but that contract isn't. Not gonna age well. |

Add Mosley and Collins and we're cooking with fire on D |

The Bama redskins lol |
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
we darn better clear lots of cape space ,see if we can get a 4th or 5th rounder for z brown and anything for mason\
|
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
i will say with a healthy front line and r foster and mosley and kerrigan faily darn good
|
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Probably going to be hard to get anything for ZB, maybe a 6th or 7th at best since it's obvious we're going to release him.

I like this strategy |
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
NFL Network Tom Pelissero confirming big interest in CJ Mosley. #realshit

Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Collins does nothing for me. The Giants made zero attempt to resign him. He's probably better than anyone we have but at 10 million? Even 7 or 8 mill, no way.
|
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
If I were the Redskins, sit pat and be active in the 2nd wave in free agency. That is always where the best value is. The first wave most of the time ends up being buyers remorse.

I simply think there is better value than Collins at safety in this market. If would could get Mosely, I think he is a better player at his position but again...ILB and Safeties, is this where we should be spending big money on Defense? |

Yep, I agree. Let Mosley get his 16 M a year elsewhere. |

I kinda liked the setup of Shaun Hamilton and Rueben Foster. You had some middle round prospects at ILB that are kinda solid too...I liked the kid out of Notre Dame. |

Agreed. ILB is not a position I want to overspend on. Now if we end up signing Mosley what do you guys think it says about Rueben Foster's availability ? (If anything). |

What is Mason Foster worth in a trade? A bag of UTZ potato chips? |

I’m stoked to have Collins because he always wanted to be here but I’m kinda worried about that money we put out.

Lot of money but we weren't getting him with less than that. I like the move. This was the only position where I was hoping for a splashy signing. Good use of the cap space. Other needs can be filled with cheaper contracts / via the draft. |

Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Just remember folks, reported salary money doesn't mention any guarantees. That being said, I like this move a lot. Makes me feel better about the Safety position.

Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
It's basically a 3 yr 45M deal.
|
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
$45 M garunteed not really too bad ... Heavily incentive laced deal I guess
|
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Dumb. Just plain old dumb. Not worth the money at all. If we were going to pay that amount to a safety then I would have rather paid it to Mathieu. He is probably much more of a complete player and has better open field skills to cover TE's. Our front office seriously has the biggest hard on for Bama players that I have ever seen.

While I like Collins in general, I would very much prefer for Redskins to use that money on Mathieu as well for the reason you mentioned.. I suppose we can switch our name to Washington Crimson Tide now? |
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Team now has to focus on LG/EDGE rusher in the draft. (QB if they don't get Rosen)
