NFL Free Agency Thread
Post signings...or what your hearing, visits, etc.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001021843/article/dante-fowler-heading-back-to-la-resigns-with-rams One of the guys I liked...big number for one year. |
Re: NFL Free Agency Thread
Danny Amendola who is 34 and will be making $5M, has never gone over 700 yards receiving. Crowder is gonna get paid, so will Preston.

I have no problem with Preston Smith getting paid as long as he is not getting paid by the Redskins. In fact, I would like it if he signs with another NFC East team. |

Honey Badger has turned down 9.5 mil per year from Texans to the test market. - Albert Breer
Gotta feeling he will be coming back to the Texans... |
Re: NFL Free Agency Thread
Nobody is gonna pay him over that per yr if they are smart

Is Crowder any better than Amendola? Not really. |

Age is the big difference and why Crowder will command more |

Re: NFL Free Agency Thread
KC Chiefs sign FS Honey Badger Tyrann Mathieu. Great signing.
Eagles traded a 6th for a 7th and DeSean Jackson. Insane deal. he will signa deal for three years and $9 million a year. Eagles also signed DT Malik Jackson for three years for $10 million. Add him to DT Fletcher Cox and they got stout up front. |
Is Crowder any better than Amendola? Not really.
Apparently he is. #Jets have now agreed with WR Jamison Crowder on a three-year, $28.5 million deal with $17 million fully guaranteed at signing, source says. Former #Redskins fourth-rounder cashes in. |

Who do we have left at wide receiver? Is Art Monk still on the team?

I'm looking at Robert Davis and Cam Sims. |

I'm kinda surprised there's no news regarding Tyrell Williams so far

Haha and we thought we overpaid for Collins:

I'd like to see the Skins find a way to add UFA Roger Saffold to play LG.

good idea, if the price is right |
Re: NFL Free Agency Thread
I wouldn't go "big contract" for LG. We should give Schreff his extension and look to bring in a quality vet at a good value who has the ability to give you solid play and provide swing depth. The biggest problem at LG has been health...not necessarily poor play. Luavo wasn't great, but when most healthy he performed average enough where the unit play well over all.
I would go solid, healthy Vet and spend a mid round pick or 2 at interior Oline. You need cap balance imo when it comes to core units on the team... |

Looks like Preston Smith to GB

Bad news teddy bridgwater didn’t go to Miami...now they become the biggest threat for Rosen

oh boy...to a rival. You gotta put that on prime time fairly quick. That's like if Dick Gobbler came to the Skins. |

Agreed. I'd still look at a WR early in the draft, but Williams has pretty good upside potential. |

Bell has not signed yet, raiders and jets still pursuing

Re: NFL Free Agency Thread
I think Preston was underrated in his time here. If all you're looking at are sacks you're missing the big picture.
|
I think Preston was underrated in his time here. If all you're looking at are sacks you're missing the big picture.
Agreed but it's not like he was a monster playmaker in the run game either. |
Re: NFL Free Agency Thread
Effective run defender and got more of a consistent rush than his sack totals would indicate. But he doesn't have elite speed off the edge and lacked the game changing plays that you would want from a guy you're paying that much. He would get close to the QB, but if there wasn't an intense push up the middle from Allen and Ioannidis on the play you didn't see Preston getting home too much. He's a decent pass rush cog in the wheel, he's not going to generate pass rush independently. He needs a stud or two around him. But at this price he's being paid to produce like a stud.
The team is right to let him go to Green Bay at this price. |
Re: NFL Free Agency Thread
I don't mind letting him walk for that $$ but at the same time it opens up a hole on the D. He was solid and didn't miss any time either.
|
Re: NFL Free Agency Thread
Guys like Ferguson from LA Tech and Polite from UF will be available in the 2nd. Edge is definitely a hole we have to fill

Hmm, I had no idea Ty Nsekhe's contract was up.
Mike Garafolo @MikeGarafolo The #Bills are signing OT Ty Nsekhe, as @AdamSchefter said. It's a two-year deal worth up to $14.5 million with $7.7 million in guarantees, per agent Vincent Taylor of @Loyalty24_7. |
