Miami Week aka the rise of Callahan
In all the commotion around JGs firing, and Callahan promotion I missed that we signed a TE that Indy released, Hale Hentges. Here is a link around why Indt released him - https://www.al.com/sports/2019/10/indianapolis-colts-waive-tight-end-hale-hentges.html
I actually think Callahan can win games with this roster. People talk about players quitting on coaches, but reading Gruden's remarks I think he had checked out long ago, and the players followed his lead. That said, winning 3 to 6 games instead of 0 to 3 doesn't change a thing except lower our draft position, and give BA less rope to hang himself with. So I am in no mans land with this game. Do I watch and hope to see a spark, or do I actually enjoy my Sunday. Hmmm oh well. I will say 23-7 Skins win prompting a BA smug look of cockiness. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |
Re: Miami Week aka the rise of Callahan
We win because how Redskins-y would it be to win crap games just enough to screw up our chances at getting Young/Jeudy?!
|
Re: Miami Week aka the rise of Callahan
Wins are the worst enemy of this team right now.
They need to win the offseason by having the first overall pick in the draft and trading it to the highest bidder. Miami has realistic expectations with their rebuild and are stockpiling picks and not worried about winning. I'm worried Allen will convince Snyder the team is close and give the same excuse Gruden used weekly, injuries.... This team needs a full rebuild on offense. We need to accept that regardless of who is head coach, having the first overall pick will speed up that process by trading the pick for additional picks. |
Re: Miami Week aka the rise of Callahan
Burn it all down! Down to the ground! I believe if the 'skins lose to Miami, we are set to go 0-16. Never in my wildest days would I have ever believed this franchise would reach such lows. But, how fitting it would be for such lows to be reached with Snyder as owner and Allen as GM.
|
Re: Miami Week aka the rise of Callahan
I think Miami is truly wanting the #1 pick and I see the skins getting #2 so I look for a ugly ass 23-17 win by the skins here but they will still finish 2-14 and grab the #2 pick.
Miami will finish 1-15 |

Redskins worst record since the league went to a 16 game schedule was 3-13. All time worst record is 1-12-1 in 1961. This team could make history. It is going to be hard to lose to Miami, they are purposely tanking and I heard somewhere that their point differential after 4 games is the worst ever in the modern era. I think the best chance to lose to Miami is to start Colt McCoy. After removing his lost yardage from sacks last week he had 75 net yards passing. |
Re: Miami Week aka the rise of Callahan
It's sad that we are in October and I'm already doing mock drafts
|
Re: Miami Week aka the rise of Callahan
I think we lose.
The bigger question is, are we such a retard organization that we pass on Tua in the draft? |

Not on the field, the players are still gonna go out there and play hard. |

TE is a huge hole. I would trade the #1 Pick or #2 Pick and load up. Haskins will be fine |

I have never been less interested in a game involving a favorite team of mine. Time to find something else to do.
|
Re: Miami Week aka the rise of Callahan
I hope Miami wins the game in order to humiliate Dan and Bruce as much as possible. I expect it to be close.

If Redskins think Buchannon is better than Harvey-Clemons then go for it. |

Personally I can see the Redskins winning this week and squeezing out a win against the Jets. All of the other game look like Losses to me. IMHO...the Only way the Redskins could possibly get to 3-13, would be if the Dallas Cowboys have the NFC East and Home Field Thoughout the Playoffs locked up by the last game of the season...then...and Only then...can I see the Cowboys resting everybody and the Redskins possibly pulling out a close one. Re: Miami Week aka the rise of Callahan
Callahan isn't important. It's all about O'Connell and the offense. Callahan will just stand there looking important while Oconnell runs everything

We win, Callahan goes on a "hot" streak and wins 5 out of our remaining 11. Bruce Allen says Callahan has righted the ship and that's why we're giving him a 5yr/25mil extension. Callahan keeps Manusky as d-coordinator, blames all issues on Gruden. Problem solved, the universe is aligned again. |

Darnold has been out and will be back soon and some new guys are still trying to mesh. The Jets are probably the best of the 4 winless teams and probably will be much improved by the time the Redskins play them. |

That was the Giants problem when they canned Coughlin , they didn't can Reece and let him hire McAdonothing . Then they fired both of them and had to start from scratch.A full blown rebuild . |
Skins / Phins = Battle of the Bad
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27806068/washington-redskins-miami-dolphins-battle-week-6-winless-bowl
Redskins: Some fans would probably like 0-16 because it might be the only way to get the changes they desire. The Redskins would have the No. 1 pick and might get a front office led by someone other than team president Bruce Allen. But, it's so difficult to recover from 0-16 -- and a team that finds itself in this abyss might not be one that can climb out. It would also destroy the team's belief that it has a good young talent base, making it more challenging to attract a good coach I'm going Miami 23-20 |
Re: Skins / Phins = Battle of the Bad
Colts turned out alright after the "Suck for Luck" season.
|
Re: Skins / Phins = Battle of the Bad
I heard somewhere Miami has the worst point differential ever in the modern area after 4 games. Their off season moves scream complete tear down and rebuild to the point of going in tank mode. I think if it looks like they have a chance at winning Flores will yank Rosen and put the punter in at QB.
Keenum throws for 350 yards with 4 TDs and 4 INTS and loses a fumble, but Redskins win 28-14. Enjoy the victory folks, the next one will be a long time coming, probably next season in fact. |
