Giants Pregame Thread
I'll kick it off with the Pro Bowl rosters:
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/28313440/2020-nfl-pro-bowl-rosters-afc-nfc-lamar-jackson-leads-picks Scherff named reserve, Tress Way finally gets his due. Landon Collins named 1st alternate, Matty I. named 4th alternate. (Maybe it's just me, but I think this year's "Pro Bowl is overrated" justification is Matty I. being 4th alternate and Landon Collins being 1st alternate. Matty I. has made way more of an impact at his position than Collins has) |
Re: Giants Pregame Thread
How is Landon Collins in the pro-bowl? Might as well put Josh Norman there too.
|
Re: Giants Pregame Thread
Lol Collins in but QD isn't?? Are u kidding me?
As for this game, it's simple Go giants Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |
Re: Giants Pregame Thread
Collins has been pretty damn good in the run game. But that's only half the job. He leaves a lot to be desired in the passing game.
I don't get upset about pro bowl picks. It's not based on reality and the pro bowl might be the most meaningless game in all of professional sports. Haven't watched it in at least 5 years. |
Re: Giants Pregame Thread
I haven’t watched it since Sean Taylor trucked that kicker. That’s the only thing memorable from any of those “games” as far as I am concerned.

But back to the Giants, I just can’t root for us to lose to an NFCE team. Just can’t. Would love to see dallas and the eagles tie with both fan bases go nuts.

Give him one more year and get rid of him, shitty signing. |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If I go watch somewhere, I'll want us to win. I'm not going to watch. So I'll be perfectly fine with losing. Won't be mad if we win tho either. Way easier to tell other people to lose on purpose and ignore any pride they have. |

Technically he's not in there yet, but he is 1st alternate. Feels like he's living off name rep on this one. |
Re: Giants Pregame Thread
After seeing Preston Smith succeed in GB, I'm willing to give some players like Collins a pass and see how they do with a smart and competent DC.
Of course, others like Norman and Nicholson, need to go. Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk |

Nicholson has been a disappointment, he was very promising when he first came here. Collins is intriguing to me, early in the season I was very disappointed, missed tackles, over committed, plus I was holding him to high standards after all the offseason talks (superbowlS, the Giants are gonna regret etc...). But as the season moved on I thought he played better. He sometimes gets beat in coverage but has been a solid contributor in the run game. I'd like to see him perform under a true DC before deeming him awfully overrated. (Likely not gonna live up to his contract though). |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Same here. Like last week, a competitive loss would be the most rational thing to root for, but I won't hate beating a division rival. It's worth a couple of draft spots IMO. |

I mean he had 51.9% of his punts inside the 20 and 0 touchbacks in 2018 ! That was even more impressive than this year. |
Re: Giants Pregame Thread
Biggest “I don’t give a fuck game” of the year.
Want Haskins to play well, no injuries and ultimately lose Like Sheldon Richardson famously said on snapface locker room game day: “Fuck this game...where the ho’s at” |
Re: Giants Pregame Thread
A loss would get us closer to a BlueChip player that isn't available later in the first round.
This is the deference between Khalil Mack and Ryan Kerrigan or Julio Jones and Josh Doctson. It's Young/Jeudy or bust. |

Missing the point. Top 5 pick should get you an All-Pro position player or franchise QB. Michael Thomas Draft(2016) 1: Goff 2: Wentz 3: Bosa (DROY) 4: Ewok looking punk in Dallas 5: Ramsey Bosa, Elliot, and Ramsey are all by far better than the next DE, RB, and CB drafted. Excluding QBs, there are 3 can't miss blue chip players in the next draft: Young - OLB/DE Jeudy - WR Okudah - CB These 3 guys will probably be better than anyone else drafted behind them. This is an opportunity to get an elite can't miss player, they need to take advantage of it. Also, being in position to draft one of these players gives us significantly more trade value. We might get lucky and have a team mortgage the future for one of these guys. No one does that for 2nd round picks. Chase Young might be worth 2 #1 picks. We need to be in position to draft him even if we fuck it up and don't draft him. |

Re: Giants Pregame Thread
While it's good to see Anderson starting to contribute more on the field, our current defense coaches have shown that they are not able to coach players properly. So at this point, I'm willing to give most defense players including Anderson another chance with new defense coaches.

My point was it ain't make or break if we don't pick in the top 3, the Browns being my example. There are so many great players in this league that were drafted outside of the 1st round entirely. Thomas was one example. The position that we may need the most is TE. Look at the best guys playing that position, Ertz, Kelce, Kittle, none drafted in the first round. Look at the Seahawks? They haven't picked in the top 5 of the draft in years. They've turned their entire SB caliber roster over and are still a SB contender. |

Brady is the prime example but there are so many others. Also so much of it depends on what organization you're going to. Brady isn't the legend he is if he is taken by the Redskins or Browns. If he is drafted here he's disgruntled and may even be on another team cause he would have forced his way out a la Cousins. This is why it is so important to get a GM and coach that see things the same way. |

Daniel Jones is taking most of the 1st team reps per radio people.

I would go as far to say that Payne and Allen are being used the wrong way. Allen isn't a 3-4 DE. That is not his best position at all and it's stupid to ever put him at the position. He should be a 4-3 one gap attacking DT. Also Payne should never be used as a 3-4 NT. He's not a Casey Hampton type that is suppose to take on a center and a guard and eat up blocks. Both of those guys should be in positions to attack more and be disruptive. Holcomb should be a sideline to sideline MLB so he is able to use his speed more. |

Cooley has mentioned this multiple times this season...the current front seven base should operate as a 4-3. Ryan Anderson and Allen would benefit the most from this look...Anderson is prototypical OLB in that set. |

If we end up getting Young and he becomes Khalil Mack like, no one...NO ONE will be going, yeah he's great and all...but I still wish we'd have beaten the Giants in week 16 back in 2019!! However...we are the Redskins, so even we do get him, he'll probably be the next Preston Smith here...or often injured. |

Re: Giants Pregame Thread
What a mixed emorions game. The offense clicked last week and I don't want to see a regression against a horrible Giants defense, so I want us to score a ton, but i want Manusky gone, so we need to give up a ton, preferably to Barkely on sceeen passes, not runs up the middle.
