Re: Paul Richardson released
What an amazing Friday!
I love you all! |
Re: Paul Richardson released
So long. Thanks for all the fish.
Reed's got to be next. |
Re: Paul Richardson released
Another FA signing that made zero sense. Can't stay healthy and never had any real consistent production. Why would you make this signing in the first place?
I hope these new guys smarten up in FA. Allen had to be the dumbest loser ever when it came to FA. Numerous loser signings, his last being Collins. |
Re: Paul Richardson released
horrible signing said it day 1

Re: Paul Richardson released
I remember when they signed PR and Gruden was saying some shit like he was going to be the next Deshawn Jackson. That is fine if you think it but where was the actual evidence of that? He has never even had a 1,000 season.

Re: Paul Richardson released
2nd worst FA signing

http://www.thewarpath.net/showthread.php?t=64092&page=2 Lots of people liked the signing. I didnt mind the P Rich signing, was somewhat concerned bc seattle fans said we over paid for an oft injured guy and it seemed they were clairvoyant. Felt like a move we had to make bc of D Jax, Garcon, Pryor situations. Much like the Alex Smith signing, we made a hole then had to fill the self inflicted hole even if we had to pay more than we wanted to. Not sure if I like the release here. I perhaps would have carried him for one more year but I assume the team knows something .. doesnt play through pain like dunbar? |

He was always hurt, so in that aspect, he was the next DJax. |
Re: Paul Richardson released
Is Jordan Reed a post 6/1 cut or what is the delay?

Post 6/1 really doesn’t matter with no cba, plus if we didn’t wait to post June 1 p rich, wouldn’t make any sense to wait with reed. Zero excuse not too cut him |

I think diplomacy (and perhaps a decision from Greg Olsen) may be the delay. Jordan Reed's whole career was here, he was a 2nd contract guy and I think its different when you are thinking of cutting a guy for concussions vs play (norman). Also, cutting guys like Norman and Richardson now is the respectful move for vets so they have an increased chance of signing on with a new team vs a cut in mid to late FA. But w Reed, the decision isnt what new team he will sign with but if he will ever play again. Theres plenty of time to move on from Reed, I dont mind them be respectful. of course with that said, theyll probably cut him in an hour ... |
Re: Paul Richardson released
Yeah, the Norman and Richardson firings were the easy ones. Now it comes to Reed, who is a fan favorite. The best scenario is for Reed to retire. I hope the team can bring him in and make a mutual announcement on his retirement.
I’m also in favor of releasing Moses. I don’t know the cap situation with him, but he had a terrible season with so many penalties. We can do better with a draft pick or UDFA. Put Martin in there. RR needs to send a message to other FA that poor play equals the door. I’d like to see the rehiring of Flowers, Scherff and Trent Williams. Also Dunbar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Paul Richardson released
Probably working out an injury settlement with Reed.

That's the smart play. Shows other players that the team cares about them, especially after they sacrifice their future health in pursuit of helping the squad. Jordan gave us everything he had until he couldn't. Hopefully he's able to retire comfortably without any long lasting issues. |

Jordan Reed drafted in 2013.

Always liked Paul Richardson, but he just couldn't stay healthy here. Wish the best for him.

Respect or not, gtfo now |
Re: Paul Richardson released
As far as I know, Reed still hasn’t cleared the concussion protocol. He can’t be cut until he’s cleared unless they work about an injury settlement.

Re: Paul Richardson released
I wish Reed well and hope things don't go south for the guy. He took that nasty hit in that pre season game and was never heard from again. If he hasn't been cleared by now I'm seriously concerned for the guy. He should stop playing football. I just have a feeling that he is going to be one of the guys that ends up w/ severe CTE
|
Re: Paul Richardson released
If he hasn't cleared protocol by now then that has to be the clearest indicator to himself that he should retire. I agree they are probably talking an injury settlement hence the delay in news.

Re: Paul Richardson released
Richardson always looked too weak and fragile to be in the NFL, he looked like he never saw the inside of a weight room. He was listed at 6' 180#, he couldn't have weighed that in full gear carrying a full Gatorade bucket.

Fucking bum sucked from our salary cap. Glad she’s gone. Garbage

Exactly. Concussions are cumulative, the next one is much easier to get and harsher than the last. The fact Reed lost a whole season to a concussion is telling. He should not be allowed back in the NFL, he has to live with that brain for the rest of his life, he has already scrambled it too many times. It is obvious some people can get away with taking more head trauma than others, unfortunately there is no way no know the level a person can tolerate until it is too late. A good example is professional boxers, Ali was already showing signs of irreversible brain damage in his late 30's, Joe Frazier lived into his late 60's without any such issues. Pretty sure Frazier took more shots to the head than Ali. |
