Re: RIP coach Joe Bugel
RIP to probably the greatest o-line coach we've ever had.
My condolences to his friends and family. |

Oh man, RIP amazing coach.

Re: RIP coach Joe Bugel
Heartbroken!! Loved Joe one of the best, if not the best OL coaches ever!! RIP JB!!
Loved this story from John Keim: A story to sum up Bugel: Before the NFC Champ game in Jan 1983, Bugel was nervous facing the Dallas DL. The non-smoker was smoking in the locker room in pre-game. After the anthem, he shouted for Dallas DL coach Ernie Stautner. Then flipped him off. Russ Grimm went on to destroy Randy White. |
Re: RIP coach Joe Bugel
Thanks for the memories we old schoolers hold near and dear. Rip Buges

Re: RIP coach Joe Bugel
It has been so long since we were champions that soon there will be very few franchise greats still around. Makes losing the legends even tougher.
|
Re: RIP coach Joe Bugel
Rest in Peace Joe. Loved seeing him on the sidelines, classic old school coach.

If there was a way for me to feel even worse about Joe Bugel's death, this is the post that did it. I know that wasn't your intention, but i didn't even stop to think about it that way. By the time / if we ever get to a Superbowl again, or even "Just" the championship game, it is likely that there will not be very many, if any, true franchise greats alive at that time... :( |
Re: RIP coach Joe Bugel
That was an amazing group of Coaches and Front Office. You could just look at them and the players and you sensed we were looking at greatness. Solid crew top to bottom on the field and staff. Joe Bugel was a key part. Jack Kent Cooke and Beathard put all together.
