Around the NFL Week 1
It finally here fuck faces! Some scoffed at the NFL for even trying.
I don’t know how the Chiefs don’t repeat... |
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
We'll see what happens. Wait until the first outbreak. Hopefully they learned from the Marlins outbreak.
In the meantime, football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't believe the season starts tonight. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
This will be a wild season without Pre Season games. Buckle up
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
I honestly don't think the lack of preseason games will matter much. Some teams in recent years didn't play their starters at all, or very very little. But I'm sure it will be a front and center story line early on. Any sign of rust will have announcers pointing out the lack of preseason games.
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
I remember the strike shortened season. Bit messy but good fun in the end. Can't see the level of play being worse than that week 1 & 2.
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
Patrick Mahomes is 7-0 in his career in September, with 23 touchdowns, zero interceptions, and a 129.4 passer rating in those games.

I think it will affect rookies and younger guys that don't have much experience. There might be a big drop off in play from starters to young bottom-of-the-roster talent. And I think the injury risk will be greater because it's hard to go from practicing to regular-season full speed. |

The good thing is every team is dealing with the same situation at least. |

I think it mainly represents many lost opportunities for bubble guys trying to make the 53. But I'm not sure it'll have a big impact on on field performances. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
Glad fans are there in KC ...they 100% Should be

The bad things is, for us, most teams aren't dealing with one of the youngest rosters in the league with a lot of player turnover and an entire new offense and defensive scheme to install. |

Skip Bayless On Cowboys QB Admitting Depression: ‘I Don’t Have Sympathy For Him Going Public’ Man Skip Bayless Is a major asshole. Look football aside, prayin for Dak and His family comes thru dealing with his brothers suicide. Gotta hurt to lose a sibling that way and I am sure he is still in pain. I didn’t hear about this when it came out, but prayers up for the dude. Seriously fuck off Skip Bayless |
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
The hypocrisy continues with the NFL not mandating one way or another fans or no fans. Fumble, Roger.
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
Skip is a ass ... hats off to Dak for shining light on the subject of depression...why would bayless say that ??

I’m not saying fire him that doesn’t educate anybody on what he did as wrong but make him meet with people battling depression, maybe volunteer time at a mental health hospital and sit in on some group sessions. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
Dak may have encouraged many people, especially young people, to seek treatment. He may have saved lives. What better tribute to his brother than to help others suffering from the same illness that cost his brother his life?

They left it up to the States to determine that. Aldo KC Is freaking ridiculous |
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
Skip should be fired just on the basis of his career full of horrible takes.

Nah, pretty late in the game for him to learn empathy or emotions. Just fire him. Trash is gonna be trash. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
I can't believe people still watch that garbage
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
How about the booing during the show of unity last night. Love how they can't even do that lol.

People do not buy tickets to the game to get lectured by millionaires. I was disappointment to see a lot of players advertising for a racist domestic terror group on the back of their helmets. This is going to kill the NFL. I've already given up on the NBA. The constant politics and lectures just ruin the game. Just play football. |

Imagine booing unity, and imagine booing it the night before the 9/11 anniversary. Unity... it's not about the flag or BLM, just a simple showing of unity amongst the players and people can't even be all in on that. Sad. |

"All people are equal" "Ugh, keep the politics out of the game. Just shut up and play football" |
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
People are tired of the political bs...and for some unknown reason booing is bad but rioting is just fine.

Who condoned rioting and looting? |
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
Unity is political?
Ugh. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
I enjoyed the game yesterday.
I was quite surprised with how dominant KC's Oline was, against a very decent Dline. The rookie Edwards-Helaire was running into avenues all night and Mahomes wasn't pressured that much. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
KC didn't even seem like they were hitting on all cylinders and they still made Houston look bad.

If you believe that, your ignorance is the definition of why your country is so divided right now. I hate talking politics in what should be a friendly forum for sports fans and I very rarely comment on other peoples opinions but this comment is just plain the dumbest thing I have ever heard. And that is saying something on here. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
In respect ... you said you hate talking politics on a forum that should be about sports .. that is all some of us want .. play football and stay out of political statements during game ... i have no issue whatsoever with every American citizen wanting police reform .. we need it but until we can at least agree that burning /looting and violence is not the answer then nothing is gonna change ..look the Blake guy was shot in back 7 times .. the cop was wrong .. but let’s not forget the victim has been involved in bad stuff also and has some responsibility in his situation .. the lines are blurred between true victims and creating a hero out of a criminal .. there is many sides to all of this .. but using violence to stop violence is a war . Where is the nfl outrage over the mass killings in the Chicago area ?? Been going on for many years .. where is that outrage and protest ?? The NFL is full of hypocrisy.. ain’t gotta look far it’s going on with our team .. the good ole boys are gonna let Snyder get away with the latest scandal ... where is the protest Sunday at fed Ex to have him removed as owner ???

I understand your perspective I support your right to that perspective, nuance and context is in everything but the statement in that post was flat out the opposite of keeping politics out of football, which is why I felt compelled to comment. I will comment no further unless it is to state that the Cowboys suck. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
This thread is a perfect example of why all this shit will in fact ruin the season. While it hasn't comandeered this thread entirely, it may be on the verge. This will continue all season.
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
Well the whole kneeling thing didn't end the NFL as some thought, think they can survive this too. Most games don't show any pre-game stuff anyway.
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 1
They could kick puppies and burn flags before every game and I'm still watching, especially this year.
