Who is your break out player for the season?
Who is the mf’in Skins player who will breakout this coming year?
Chase coming back off injury, a rookie, a second year guy who who just needed a lil experience, Payne in a contract year, etc?? Who is the guy who will be quiet baller…a guy not necessarily to break out but just be that core, dependable guy who everyone is like wow nice to see him finally step up and solidify himself as “a dude.” First question, I think Chase bounces back hard with a better offense on the field. He gonna be in the teens end of season..count on it. Second, I think Cosmi was good first year, but he could have that Johnathan Allen -like early emergence at Right Tackle. 2 other players I like to be difference makers..Curtis Samuel and I think Kam Curl has probowl potential if they just leave him alone to play Strong Safety |
Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
Defense- Chase Young. Dude is way too talented not to come back with a vengeance. He has learned the NFL you have to put 100% in year round. Think he he has a great rebound season.
Offense- Jahan Dotson. Just think this kid is going to explode as defenses are going to be too concerned about McLaurin leaving man coverage on Dotson. He is the total package with sick hands too. Wentz and him have already built a connection. Think Dotson/McLaurin is going to be bigtime for a while. |
Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
Terry McLaurin - 1500+ yards and double digit touchdowns if Wentz plays 90%+ of the games.

It's incredible he's put up the yards he has already in his career considering his signal callers. Eager to see him paired with Wentz.

Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
The breakout player for this team BETTER be Carson Wentz! He better come close to that 2017 season or this is it for him. He should have a good oline, and great weapons, so no excuses. He better stay healthy and play well.
That being said I think the breakout player will be Montez Sweat...this is a make or break season for him as well coming off a lack luster season...I think Young will be limited for a while making his comeback and I think Sweat will take advantage of the open spotlight. |
Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
Sweat should be a stud this yr, the whole DL should be
|
Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
I'm going Jamin Davis on D. I think things will slow down for him this year, he'll be playing a position that better suits him, and a healthy, more productive D-line will go a long way to helping him make a big jump.
I'm going Curtis Samuel on O. I can see McLaurin and Dotson getting all the attention from opposing defenses, and he will quietly become the most productive/dangerous offensive player. |

He simply doesn't have the motor or whatever you want to call it- like the Bosa boys. He can't rush like those guys. I've seen more of Nick than Joey and he just isn't as good. Sure he is big strong guy, looks good getting off the bus, but just not all that impressed vs the massive hype that was behind him. I've seen him get handled too many times that I know he simply will never be an elite player. Good to pretty good? Sure. |

I'm just not buying it w/ those guys. They get a lot hype because of draft pick status, but the results have been average at best. It'll be more of the same this year. |
Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
I'd say Samuel. Put him in the slot, not outside, and let him work in there. I think if they just put him there he'll do some damage. Hopefully his body holds up.

Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
Gonna give 2 for offense and defense
Offense: Antonio Gibson 1,200 yards rushing and 400 receiving and 16 total TDs Terry McLaurin 1,400 yards receiving and 11 Total TDs Defense: Chase Young and Montez Sweat go for 12 sacks each |

Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
McLaurin is going to throw 2 bills on 1 or 2 teams this season.
|
Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
Chase young = hope he returns to his physical form and has improved his skills. Not sold yet.
Wentz needs to be a break out player at the obviously most important position on O My biggest thing this year is the fucking COORDINATORS. Scott... how do you plan to spread the ball around and use ALL THE WEAPONS on offense. You better not disappoint. JDR = scheme better and call better games or get the fuck out. That is all. |

But I'm with you on the fact I'm not crazy confident that neither him nor Sweat are gonna have a bounce back season. Last year was incredibly disappointing, and obviously part of it was attitude. Both of them. So I'm in "prove it to me" mode, more than confident mode. |
Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
Offense: how about a big season for Cam Sims? With a lot of attention on McLaurin, speedy Dyami Brown and rookie Dotson, and uncertainty on Logan Thomas, a bigger target will be a welcomed asset for Wentz.
Defense: difficult to pick a break out player on our secondary with the mess it was last year, but I think Kamren Curl will continue his growth. I'm also curious to see if hard hitting second year safety Darrick Forrest can find a bigger role. Maybe at the expense of suspicious McCain? |
Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
If Chase doesn't kill it this season (maybe needs a few games to get back into playing again) he either just isn't as good as advertised and/or doesn't have the drive to do what is needed to be really good.

I think the question is about the bolded part. His rookie season proved his has the talent, the potential. Time will tell if he does what he needs to do to be great in the NFL, which demands pretty much a struggle of every instant. That is not written yet, it's pretty much in his hands. |
Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
Brian Robinson will break out as the #1 in the back field. I love Gibson, but I'm not sold on him fixing his fumble issues. He was taken out at times last year, but there wasn't a proper replacement waiting in the wings. So I think we have that now, and by mid season Robinson will take the lead back role.

Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
I'm going with Jamin Davis his speed and strength is elite level once the game slows down and he does less thinking and more reacting he will be tough to handle..It clicks for him this season...
|
Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
As long as Wentz and Davis/Holcomb stay healthy this year, this team fucks.

I'll believe it when I see it, but this is a huge year for him and Chase Young.

Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
St. Juste. Reports out of minicamp were saying he looked fantastic and was the only guy to give Jahan Dotson trouble consistently.
|
Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
I forgot about St Juste. Hope he is past all the concussion stuff.

Opposing teams are going to game plan for CY. The brilliant Jack Del Dust Up is going to drop CY in coverage on passing downs to confuse everyone including us and CY. |
Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
Deron Payne is my breakout player.

But yeah, this is not the issue of this defense. To broaden the discussion though, I do think JDR will have a lot of pressure to produce results this year, perhaps more so than Rivera. This defense was supposed to be the strength of this team and has been disappointing. Last year, the secondary's miscues and Dline under performance point to mediocre coaching. He doesn't have the excuse of a couple of DBs missing a couple of OTAs days now, so the results better be there, and quickly. Oh and I don't want to hear that the defense is missing some pieces (aka LBs), that's on them. Envoyé de mon SHV48 en utilisant Tapatalk |
Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
The defense was ranked #4 in points allowed in 2020, and tanked to #25 in points allowed last year. I get that there were a lot of injuries, COVID absences, and there was a lack of continuity at every level...but JDR just needs to be shown the door if the defense doesn't get back to somewhere near the top 10 this year.
And I agree with your point "...I don't want to hear that the defense is missing some pieces (aka LBs), that's on them." No excuses - ESPECIALLY if the offense shows marked improvement. |

Yup, and the #1 change needs to be JDR kicked to the curb if that happens. |
Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
Do rookies count as breakout players? If so, I would say Jahan Dotson. He will be a special player, IMHO.

Not a sexy pick, but would be ideal with Schreff moving on if Cosmi could anchor that right side |
Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
Joey Slye. Will hit multiple game winners.

Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
Terry McLaurin will breakout into the mainstream. We know how good he is but everyone else will now too....Gonna predict
96 catches 1,431 yards and 13 TDs |
Re: Who is your break out player for the season?
Last yr was Allen and Payne both
This year I'm predicting CY goes off for 13 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. On Offense I'm going to say Curtis Samuel |
