COLTS PRE GAME
Commanders can be move into the 7th seed by the end of Week 8 if …
The Commanders beat the Colts Giants beat the Seahawks Falcons or Buccaneers lose to the Panthers or Ravens |
Re: COLTS PRE GAME
This is the week, Turners last week as an OC.
I've been saying it since preseason, when Snyder and that wrestle mania looking bastard get together at midfield, bastard is going to rub the Wentz trade in little Dannys face. Since then, Irsay has added fuel to the fire. Danny boy is going to need someones head on the chopping block. Make this happen Danny boy. FU Scott Turner! |
Re: COLTS PRE GAME
Due to his mobility, Ehlinger represents a greater threat than Matt Ryan would have. Perhaps it will even out because of his lack of experience, but the defense is going to have to be solid against the run as J Taylor appears to be healthy, and Ehlinger is a willing runner. He averaged over 11 rushes per game in college, and has 17 rushes in his limited NFL snaps.
It's a winnable game, but I am expecting the Colts to 'pull out all the stops' to try to get the W. |

Plus, with the QB switch and the Irsay animosity toward DS, they'll probably be a bit more motivated. Going to be a challenge for us as their running game is legit. |

You know I'm a big "motivation matters" guy. But I'm not sure to what extent team owners' beef translate to players motivation... Winnable game? For sure. But let's not forget this team beat the Chiefs and are statistically the 5th passing offense in the league ... Gonna need some Heinickeee magic! |

Bussy is like Lebowski’s rug, it really ties the Warpath together. |
Re: COLTS PRE GAME
The fans have spoken, at least 82% don't want Wentz to ever take another snap as a Commander.

We'd need a better pass-pro OL to get value. I was hoping it'd work out better (and the sample size is still small), but with where we're at, I don't think he'd be worth more than maybe (MAYBE) +1 win over the rest of the season (if healthy). Players like TH. He's a middling QB on a middling team, but at least we can keep our 2nd round pick and $25mill next year. Not against letting him stay or putting in Howell at any time. Season is still essentially lost (ie, regardless of infinite lucky bounces, this is definitely not a super bowl team). |

Re: COLTS PRE GAME
I havent seen a single min of the Colts so far this year. Have a better overall team O and D (per yds) and record.
Colts have a weird schedule. Played 7 games, 2 each against Jags and Titans already. Beat Chiefs, jags Broncos lost to Titans x2 and jags Tied Texans ---------------- 4:25 pm kickoff is cool ... away game --- Skins +3 |

Re: COLTS PRE GAME
JDR is filling in for RR in the presser today. This response made me laugh.
He was asked how the defense has allowed less explosive plays recently. His reply: "I don't know, but they need to continue." |
Re: COLTS PRE GAME
Yeah, that he doesn’t know is a little troubling. It suggests it wasn’t anything JDG helped along through coaching.
Maybe he just didn’t want to reduce further the trade value of Jackson (such as it is). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If he was going for the BB effect it is a poor choice of words. As for the game it is a total toss up in my mind. Ill go out on a limb and say Us 24 Them 13 |
Re: COLTS PRE GAME
Holcomb has been playing real well last few weeks, right place right time, not getting blocked and washed out of plays so easily ... hes def been coached up/adjusted from the first few weeks
I could see him get a turnover this week. Guys been around the ball, bout time he gets rewarded. |
Re: COLTS PRE GAME
I think Terry might go off this week. He’s got 70 friends and family coming to the game and he and TH have a connection. I just hope our D can continue to play well; they need to be disciplined as Ehlinger is apparently an decent runner and the colts have some backfield talent anyway.

Re: COLTS PRE GAME
I predict a fight between Logan Thomas if he plays and Yannick Ngakoue the motherfucker who tore his knee last year with a cheapshot and now plays for the colts.
|
Re: COLTS PRE GAME
We need to win this game. Capitalize on the momentum built from the GB victory. We really may have something in Robinson/Gibson pounding the ball. Heinicke is a better fit with this oline. His mobility opens things up. Let's go!

Re: COLTS PRE GAME
Cole Holcomb out and Trai Turner back at RG. Not great news.

Oh that's bad. Who replaces Holcomb? Hudson (who they recently called up)? Bostic (although he's OLB)? Mayo? Yeesh. I wonder if they'd ever slide Cosmi in at G and keep Lucas at RT? With a hand in a cast, that might be easier, but I have no idea if he has experience in the position. Cosmi was apparently full go in practice. |

Fudge .. Holcomb has really stepped up lately, I think his absence is going to be very noticeable. Trai Turner -- just get a hat on hat, protect from the inside to the outside. Just get your fat ass in front of somebody. |

Dotson out as well

Trai Turner had a bad half against the Cowboys... But he looked very promising early in the year, even though he wasn't 100% recovered from injury. If he's back 100% he's gonna be a big improvement over Charles. |
Re: COLTS PRE GAME
It's bad that we're even having the conversation about whether we have someone who is an improvement over Charles. I had high hopes for that dude when we drafted him, but the fact that he's still here in the mix is disappointing.
Hopefully we get the Trai Turner of 3-4 years ago... |

Re: COLTS PRE GAME
Bostic can play in the middle. He should have fresh legs and be able to play 2 or 3 games with good results.
|
Re: COLTS PRE GAME
It seems to me that if we had to have Holcomb miss any game it would be this one, one where we can use Bostic/Mayo to shut down the run game and dare them to pass it it with an inexperienced QB, who likes to run, and few receiving targets of any note

Good point. Googling up Cosmi to see when he'll be back from surgery, found this interesting read about the possibility of him playing guard: https://www.hogshaven.com/2022/10/27/23424835/sam-cosmi-should-be-moved-to-guard |

Ty Nsekhe came in at LT and Trent moved inside to guard. I can't remember the name of the DT, but he basically went to a 4 point stance and launched into Trent. Trent caught him, twisted him down and they ran the ball down their throat the rest of the game. Completely irrelevant. |
