Texans Pre-Game Thread
Chase Young is back and a chance to get over .500. Big week for us. We have to get this W.
I like our chances. The Fightin' Chase's: 23 Texans: 16 |
Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
I don't think Houston scores more than 14, their OL is VERY bad and they have no passing game.
Commanders 24 Texans 13 |
Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
Man, I really hope we don’t come out flat in a short week after an emotional win. That would be the kind of thing we’d do. Let’s see if this year’s team is different. Last night felt different - the team that fought harder won, and beat the more talented team.
Our D is legit. We basically handed them a td early on. Eagles with less than 100 yards rushing and less than 265 total yards. That’s not easy to do. And we are starting to utilize our weapons - McLaurin and Samuel in particular - better. Liking our run game too. Have got to keep it going next week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
We got be ready.
It is more probably that the HOU would be us then us beating a 8-0 PHI team at their house on a Monday night. Any given Sunday. |
Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
Gonna make some texas brisket for this one.

Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
Love Dameon Pierce, that kid is an animal. I would vote for him for offensive rookie of the year.

Hope the boys don't fall into the trap. |
Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
Texans are playing hard and are pesky. Not going to be an easy game. They played the Giants tough. Always hard to go on the road during a short week. Very much a let down spot.

That has to be the formula - run, run, run, play action, run some more. |
Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
So will it be Carson or Taylor under center on Sunday?

100% agree. 110%, actually. |

No question TH |

I can't imagine it won't be Taylor. 3-1 as a starter and just helped take down the 8-0 Eagles on MNF at home? I expect that there will be a story about it being a short week and the team not being sure that Carson is quite at 100% to soften the blow, however. If TH plays well (admittedly against a weaker opponent), then they can cement him as the starter after next week. If not, then they can go to Carson. But for now, I can see them wanting to kick the can down the road for another week on this decision. |

Would you play a rusty coming back from an injury QB or a hot one that makes things happen? There’s your answer |
Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
We are officially in the playoffs as of right now?
Wow Im sure we will end the season with the best record for a non playoff team and secure the 16th or so pick in the draft ... but wow. |
Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
TH qbr now is 47.2…below avg but higher than Kyler Murray, Matt Ryan, Russel Wilson, Baker Mayfield, .Mac Jones, and of course, Wentz
|
Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
Funny how quick the pregame threads come after a win. Lol
Houston has literally been in every game. Dont be fooled by their record. Im going to make a bold prediction though. We blow someone out. I know. I know. Us- 33 Them - 16 |

200 percent Taylor. |

That makes sense - kicking the can down the road for another week. It's a legit question though. I still feel like when this team wins it is despite TH, not necessarily because of him. However, I suppose you also can't underestimate how the team seems to rally behind him. In a way it isn't good though in my opinion, because I don't like the idea that they don't play their best when someone else is under center... Like they really bring it when TH is the QB, but not so much when CW is...? |

Floating the ball into deep coverage is always a terrible idea. So you want him to be confident, but not "I can do anything" confident. No doubt the squad rallies behind him though, knowing any game could be his last. I expect this ride to continue until he has another "lost all my confidence and I have 47 passing yards at the half" type performance. |

I was about to post this. Short week with a hangover. No way this team is coached up in time. |
Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
I'd consider driving down for this game if Houston wasn't so boring on offense
|
Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
After 10 weeks Washington lead all teams in average time of possession, and I will go out on a limb and say they will lead by a wider margin after week 11. Should be a similar game plan since Houston has been even worse at stopping the run than Philadelphia. A lot of Robinson & Gibson, with Curtis (our Deebo) Samuel sprinkled in.

Turner is the key. Will he revert back to his pass happy ways? I hope he realizes running is their strength and sticks with it. |
Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
I listened to Ron earlier , no chance Wentz starts Sunday
|
Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
We have 2 previous QB's in TE's Thomas and Rogers. I want to see some trick passes from those guys, get creative.

Not sure i want to see Logan passing the ball, but id love to see him become a pass catching threat and redzone target again. |

If you saw Terry interview with Van Pelt you'd also say no way in hell Carson plays another down unless TH gets injured or is THAT bad. And I agree with Terry. That was an emotional fucking interview. |
Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
Definitely all the markings of a trap game. Commanders -3 is spread
|
Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
The conditional 2023 pick is reason enough to keep playing Taylor. He would really have to play extremely awful for Wentz to get back in there any time soon.
|
Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
If Ron is just trying to get whatever advantage comes with keeping the starter up in the air for the Texans, fine.
But if he's seriously considering going back to Wentz come on man! Gotta stick with the hot hand, it's a no brainer to keep TH in there. |

You do no Logan was a starting QB for VT and has a pretty good arm. |

Of course. But there is also a reason he plays TE now and Id rather see him return to being an offensive weapon at TE than start running trick plays as a qb Im not opposed to SF’s idea of running some sort of play with Logan taking a snap but Logan was a damn good pass catching TE before his injury and I would love to get him more involved there. |

Also Taylor would have to get hurt or screw up real bad to come out. I think if he starts the next couple games that the chances of Carson accounting for 70 percent of the snaps at qb are almost impossible and it would keep our conditional 2023 a third instead of a second. Not saying they will hold Carson out simply to keep the second but it is definitely in the minds of the decision makers. |

Taylor damn near ended his career on Monday with that one pass though and it is not the first time. i think those two have some trust issues they need to work out. |
