Big Road game in SF this Saturday.

The keys to victory :

Make Purdy look like the last pick in the draft

Stop the run game

DO NOT TURN THE BALL OVER

Have to score early.

Do I think we will win? No but Ron's teams always seem to rise up when they are underdogs

We play better on the road. I know Sunday was a let down but I could see us pulling out a W.

On paper it looks like a one sided game, but so did the visit to Philly so who knows. If we were to win in SF it would in some ways make the last two games even more disappointing. If we beat SF then we are genuinely back in the playoff hunt. If not we are almost certainly out. Hope Ron and co stress that fact to the team. Having BSJ back will be big

I think this game will be over after the first quarter. Look at what they did to the Bucs who also have a terrible oline. You can't run on them, TH can't pass, and while our D is decent...they can't stop all their weapons. They'll only need 13 or 14 points.

This, but Heinicke makes multiple potential turnover causing plays every week (he gets lucky with lots of drops), and our O-Line is going to get smacked around.

I don't like our chances unless Turner somehow calls an amazing game.

We have no margin of error.

49ERS PRE GAME THREAD
 

I feel good about this game. No Deebo and no Jimmy G is an absolute bonus.
There is plenty of tape on Purdy now.
There is one key to this game…run the fucking ball. Give BR 25 touches. Grind their defense down. Im not worried about them scoring points. We need to keep it close and just grind it out.
We win 17-10 and Christmas is saved.

If we can beat the Eagles, we can beat the 9ers. Especially with Purdy.

But still no margin of error. Have to win the turnover battle, have to have Turner keep his head out of his ass, and gotta stop McCaffery.

Tall order.

Regardless of who's at QB, I don't trust Turner to stick to the run game.

Philly has a tough run defense, but we stuck to it and kept their offense in the sideline. But Turner or Heinecke or whoever decides to run these stupid empty backfield long pass attempts is going to keep doing it and we're going to lose.

Unless Shanahan has a stroke between now and Saturday he is going to be throwing to Kittle and McCaffrey across the middle when Bostic is on the field, easy pitch and catch completions for a rookie QB

Stop the edge running, pound Purdy into a turdy by pressuring him. Commit to the run and pound the ball with BRob, Gibson and Williams, inflict pain in those LB’s.

Key to the game: BRob and Gibby get 40+ carries, Samuels get 1 maybe 2 max.
Leno and Lucas will not be able to handle Bosa, Need to run at Bosa.

That would be awesome. And I agree. We definitely need to have more rushing attempts than passing attempts to win imo.

Scott Turner needs to make an adjustment - their d-line will feast if Heinicke is doing 5-7 step drops. He needs to do 3 step drops, get the ball out quick or bail out of the pocket. Bosa and co. will feast like Micah Parsons does otherwise.

More play action, more committed ground game, quick throws when it is a pass, settle for 5 yard gains if you have to - this is how we will put up enough points on offense. Defense is getting a favor with Garropollo and Deebo out, they need to handle it.

One last thing - it's another red flag on Heinicke that he has essentially started almost 2 full seasons worth of games for Ron and Scott Turner and he hasn't shown much improvement in timing, footwork, reading receivers or anticipating throws. If he looks flat against the 49ers we might see a switch at halftime.

Yeah that ball needed to be out in front and thrown a second earlier. Wentz can easily make that throw but would he? I'm not so sure. Wentz probably holds it and gets sacked.. lol.

I've seen enough of Taylor. I would put Wentz back in just because we don't have much of a downfield attack and we have 3 guys (actually 4 w/ Brown) who can get downfield.

You just have to take the good w/ the bad w/ Wentz. At least the big play potential is there. Maybe we have some quick strikes instead of needing 15 plays to score.

Absolutely. Said so when it happened. Thats noodle arm. Those are the things Taylor does several times a game that are mistakes which don’t show up on a stat sheet. Just flat out weak, bad, throws. Plus he just completely doesn’t see guys alot.

You say get downfield and maybe in the same sentence (rightfully so). Wentz doesn't get the ball out much faster if faster at all than taylor and he's worse under pressure. These guys prolly won't even get time to GET downfield this week.

Sunday the giants killed us. They're like the Little Giants compared to SF... I'll echo what everyone's saying here... it better be one HELL of a game plan.

Wish taylor had an arm.

With the same amount of time Heinicke had on that play.... Yes, it's an easy score with Wentz. Hell, the rook probably hit on that for a TD.

You can truly sense Heinicke is on a short leash the remainder of the way based on the interview I watched with JP Finlay and Rivera. Go to quick passing and run heavy.

He's just having fun...gotta live life.

Anyway, he threw a bomb the other night - over 50 yards in the air...it was about two yards overthrown though. That probably puts him in the average category as far as the distance he can throw, but I didn't know he could do that.
