Bills Post-Game Thread
The OL needs a complete overhaul. The defense needs a DC with a spark.
Howell was overwhelmed by the Bills defense today, hopefully it's just a cruel learning experience. Give Robinson the fucking football 20+ times a game. Cut Gibson and Wylie today. Fuck Philly! |
Re: Bills Post-Game Thread
Positives:
Fuller Slye Negatives: Everyone else (players and coaches) |
Re: Bills Post-Game Thread
I’ll never understand why we didn’t take Oline with last year and this years second round pick.
Ron handling of the Oline personnel decision is enough to have him and his entire staff fired. |
Re: Bills Post-Game Thread
The thing is, Wylie is here because of EB. I'm sure he was in the draft room too, and could've talked RR into an offensive lineman instead of a DB in the 2nd round if he thought that was more important.

It’s ridiculous Ron made the call on Trent willams and Morgan Moses, 1 HOF and another solid tackle. He went with Cosmi who had to be kicked inside. Decided on 2 ex Carolina guards who were complete failures. Ran off Schreff. The track record is atrocious at Oline and Ron is the guy signing off on every one of these moves. |

But he has the actual athletic ability to play RT. Wylie absolutely does not. He's a total slow-twitch player. Floyd must have been laughing his ass off going against Wylie. |
Re: Bills Post-Game Thread
Trent Williams isn't staying here if Bill Belichick is the head coach.

Surprising outcome but AZ played well and inspired. Dobbs is underrated. Also agree about the frustration on the oline. Bad personnel moves have led to this.

This was a humbling loss....Gibson needs to be traded.....how many times can one guy keep fumbling ?

I LOVE when people say we should trade X player! Dude we are shitty team with shitty players who the fuck would give us anything for AG ? You’re a numb nuts |
Re: Bills Post-Game Thread
So are the preseason polly-annas willing admit that maybe they were incorrect to think our OL had improved? I kept pointing out all summer that our new guys were not any better and maybe worse than our old guys.

I love these "smartest in the room/call out others" posts when most others said the same beforehand. Most fans on here stated or believed the o-line could be an issue this season. |
Re: Bills Post-Game Thread
The o line is trash and was horrid all summer and barely held it together through 2 weeks.

And you're right, everyone thought the line would be an issue.

Re: Bills Post-Game Thread
Weirdly... I don't feel that bad about our team right now...
I thought defense played really well. 2 possessions game in the 4th, with the Bills having short fields all day... Basically until that point they had allowed one big play TD on a short field courtesy of a 3 and out and a David Mayo penalty on the punt. Long story short I don't know how you watch this game and not see the L coming down to our almost rookie QB crumbling down against a good defense and having an awful game, hopefully he can turn that into a learning experience. Oline needs improving for sure, 1 of the 2 only signings we got was an awful one. Cody Barton is too slow though. And I didn't love Jarmin Davis missing a tackle on 3rd and short before the 2nd Bills TD. That loss ain't on the defense at all though... |

I don’t mean to be so rude but it’s a stupid statement The only thing to do with AG is deal with him or cut him , no fucking team is saying we need to trade for that fumbling POS |

Instead he pulled a Turner and got cute with the passing game. The DL kept over pursuing Allen who patiently waited and took off for big runs. All around team breakdown |

Ugh. Just an awful game. Howell looked overwhelmed and the D hung in until the 4th quarter then wilted (knowing the Bills were going to run they still gashed us). No sacks. Fuller, Slye, and Way played well. No one else did. Team looked outmatched in every phase. On to Philly. Win that and we are tied for the lead in our division. Hard to believe that after today’s debacle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nah I disagree with that part man, Josh Allen is gonna have some crucifying 3rd down runs against any team. Especially if you keep giving him the ball back. Was the D perfect? No, but they kept giving us a chance in this game, and Sam kept throwing that chance back to the Bills... Yes the Oline was bad. Yes that's on the coaching staff. And obviously they didn't do enough to help their young QB, so if you wanna find some playcalls that could have been better, that's fair. But I wouldn't let it distract us from the main reason we lost. |
Re: Bills Post-Game Thread
Main reason to me was o line, play calling, then Sam.

Re: Bills Post-Game Thread
Performance aside this is where I thought they’d be after three games. Doesn’t matter how bad you lose it counts the same. Thought this was an interesting quote, sounds like the Bills knew exactly what Sam’s tendencies are:
https://twitter.com/john_keim/status/1706059830526365737 Not necessarily pinning this on Sam but he will have to develop defensive reading skills if he is the guy. And of course the o-line needs to play better |
Re: Bills Post-Game Thread
Maybe Ron should bring back his old OL coach, he waited till the last minute to make Wharton the OL coach, maybe he’s over his head. What kind of bullshit was that?

Sam is a virtual rookie so he can't be expected to perform like a seasoned veteran every week. |

Re: Bills Post-Game Thread
OL isn’t good , Howell is raw and needs more reps clearly but what concerns me is he makes bad decisions (Zach Wilson) type decisions. I hope he comes back this week and plays well because we have no chance if he doesn’t

I guess I'm one of those. lol I still think, as a whole, the unit is better than last year's unit. Unfortunately, that's not saying much. And it's still a bad combination with the QB we currently have, paired with the game plan that was rolled out there this weekend. The Bills just teed off on Sam knowing he holds on to the ball too much. The only way to counter that is to run the ball - effectively. We did that, but not nearly enough. Rushing attempts: 13 Passing attempts: 29 Yards per rush: 8.1 Yards per pass: 3.3 Like MTK/Mooby said - time to burn the tape and move on to Philly. Hopefully, they can make some adjustments to the offensive game plan this week. Otherwise, it will be the same result. Philly is good, but they aren't the Bills. It's a game that can be had. |

It’s the moving on part that scares me. Philly is going to Buffalo us. I have absolutely no faith in our coaching staff at all. |

And yet we managed to punk them last year when they were 8-0 and we were 4-5. It's a week to week league. |

On a different note, it will be good to see how Howell respond after yesterday. Howell said, "the sun will come up tomorrow" so this is a good sign that he is aware that yesterday was just one game and can move on easily. The downside is the opponents now know that their defense plan is to confuse Howell, so Eric and Howell need to have plans to counter that defense plan. |
