FALCONS PRE GAME THREAD
On to week 6 already.
ATL is 3-2 but playing very avg on both sides of the ball. WASH 2-3 and have lost 3 in a row while giving up 36 PPG.. If we lose this game , the season will get UGLY Fast. I think we bounce back with a win 28-21 |
Re: FALCONS PRE GAME THREAD
My avatar will be on the right-side of history by 5 p.m. on Sunday. I have zero faith in us winning this game.
Robinson vs. Davis/Barton is going to be bloody murder. |

It's an absolutely winnable game, but I still don't think we can win, if that makes sense lol. That performance against the Bears has broken my spirit. If we can't even hang w/ the Bears at home, then I sure as hell can't really believe we will win a game on the road against an equal or better team. |
Re: FALCONS PRE GAME THREAD
Spread is Skins +2
After Thursday I am surprised we are not bigger dogs. While my inner fanboy says this winnable there is a fundamental difference between Atlanta and the C-men. Atlanta's losses are to Lions and Jags in other words they are beating teams they are supposed to beat, we are not. I pick Falcons for the W. We are losing at half time yet again, Howell leads a great 2nd half comeback to tie the game with a 1:30 left. Ridder leads the team down the field carving the defense like butter with a game winning field goal as time expires. As RR looks on stunned on the side lines. |

We may pull out the win, but I'm not getting sucked into hope. As @sdskinsfan mentioned, the Bears loss has immunized me. |

He has the continuously stunned face the way the incredibly stupid parents are stunned when their son invites friends after homecoming to the basement and the parents discover ten drunk kids.

Robinson vs. Davis/Barton is going to be bloody murder.
Although, I have as much confidence in this staff as I can beat up a silverback gorilla, I do think we win next Sunday. I have a feeling we'll blitz Ridder from the onset and rattle him a bit. I also think Jon Allen and Payne will come out possessed like maniacs. I think we win by at least 10 points. I sense we're gonna play pissed off as a team and get the W. Then in typical Washington manner, we'll shit the bed the following week versus the Giants. That's a story for another day. |

The reason I suspect that'll occur because bringing pressure allowed us to get back in the game last Thursday. I wanna give those clowns (JDR and Rivera) the benefit of the doubt here and surmise they'll go after Ridder much earlier than they did Fields, and create some mistakes and energize our defense. |

Per Keim:
S Darrick Forrest (shoulder) and S Jeremy Reaves (knee) both will be placed on IR. Length of time still to be determined, Ron Rivera said. |

I don't think Forrest and Butler should be playing together anyways. Play Butler at FS, Curl at SS, and Martin at slot. Might as well keep seeing what we have with Butler (very disappointing so far) and Martin. |

We're 2.5 point underdogs. |

Is it 2024 yet?
|
Re: FALCONS PRE GAME THREAD
Anyone know how long Reaves and Forrest are out for? Is it season ending? Typical Ron never discloses the truth about injuries.

Re: FALCONS PRE GAME THREAD
If this is a completely different team than last week? We have a chance. But... If EB can't stay balanced, ron plays scared, the o line blocks for shit, JDR comes out vanilla too often, chase young doesn't stay disciplined and plays selfishly, the secondary can't cover a fucking day bed.... we are flat out fucked. And sadly that's what we have seen more often than not this year.
Best of luck to us, our mental states, livers, jobs on Monday morning and the team. |

We are going to have to win through the air unfortunately. It is definitely hard to run the ball when you get down big and get down early. But that seems to be Ron and JDR’s game plan. This could be their last game. Who the hell knows. Also this is going to be the best running back we have faced. |
Re: FALCONS PRE GAME THREAD
Houston was able to hold him to 14/46 lost fumble and 2 for 2yds in the air.. granted we can't seem to even stop Fred Flintstone at this rate and I'm sure this will be a "bounce back " game for Dijon mustard.
Kick in the nuts prediction, they bench Ridder if we actually play defense and TH comes in and leads a comeback. Lol, if that's not our luck I don't know what is. |

Next yr doesn't mean we will be a good team.. Just because we have Magic and Harris now doesn't mean they know how to build a winning football team. We need a real GM / HC before anything |

No man. We needed a real owner first. Snyder leaving was always the first step to returning to glory. Nobody was coming to work for that moron. It is why we are stuck with the current shit show. I have absolute faith in them hiring competent people. The Devils and the Sixers are both successful franchises. Far from the laughing stock we have been on the field, court, or ice and off it. |

Shame, probably won't be back under a/the new regime

Re: FALCONS PRE GAME THREAD
This game could go either way but I lean Atlanta. They are at home and I like their coach. Honestly, they'll probably want it more also.

Re: FALCONS PRE GAME THREAD
Week to week league... We'll see... Not checked out but I don't feel there are any stakes for this season anymore... I'll watch our games, feel good if we win, don't care that much if we lose, this year was going to be a wash all along, we fooled ourselves into believing otherwise.

When Snyder sold we all knew that this season was a win because of that alone. Last year at this time we were literally talking about how he would be around as long as we were and there was never going to be any hope. We meant that then and we should remember it now. The future, at the very least, has a chance to be bright. It is all we wanted. |
Re: FALCONS PRE GAME THREAD
It's ok guys, Ron has it figured out...
“I just think that first and foremost there was a good opportunity for us the last couple days to dive into several things, study some things, look at some things, evaluate what we do and how we do it, evaluate the way we're doing it," Rivera said. "And I think, going through it and in our conversations that we've come to some pretty good resolutions and some things that most certainly do need to be corrected, need to be fixed, and some things that we can do to help the players.” Read more at: https://www.kansascity.com/sports/nfl/article280339279.html#storylink=cpy 14-3 here we come :) |

They should have played pissed off against the Bears after coming so close to beating the Eagles, but hey had no fire. The Bears made them look silly. I don't anticipate anything different this weekend, or this year, until they prove otherwise. They could honestly be 0-5 right now, and probably should be... |

Honestly sounds like he's checked out. I respect him because he has credibility and respect around the league, but I'm ready to move on from him. Year 4 if you're not in playoff contention (and based on last week we're a loooong way from contention) you gotta go. Swapping coaches in season does nothing, this isn't the NHL or another league. Firing him early just means admitting the mistake and wasting the rest of the season. I say ride it out and let him gracefully retire after the season. JDR can go too. EB is still too inexperienced as a playcaller to take the HC gig. Ride it out to another mediocre record this year and let the changes start in the offseason. |

Re: FALCONS PRE GAME THREAD
"and some lunch menus that most certainly do need to be corrected"
Speak the facts Ron!
Spilled my coffee. This post sums up Ron's regime perfectly IMO. It's year 4 and it feels like he's about to talk to us about the military culture and how it takes time to change things etc... Don't blame him though, he thought he was buying some time but in a way he set a deadline on himself, this is the time to deliver and he knows it, so he can't be talking about complete overhauls and shit. Lunch menu is about the level of things he can talk about fixing without losing face. |
