Giants Pre-Game Thread

If we can't beat these assholes at least once this season, then I'm just assuming we will never beat them again.

Would be nice to get back over .500 and break this damn funk against the Giants.

I want Daboll's head to stay bright red all 60 minutes.

Maybe Ron's "lucky zombie" streak on the road to .500 starts early this year. But it would be way too satisfying for us to kick a Giants team while they are down. Never happen. I predict that we lose in the ugliest way possible.

Re: Giants Pre-Game Thread

They got an awful record... But watching the vs the Bills, their D can be legit.
It's gonna be a good test for Sam, I do think he's gonna get pressured quite a lot, maybe make some mistakes... do we see improvement on the "holding the ball too long" front ?
Can the defense deliver and give us the ball back against a most likely Tyrod Taylor led bad offense ?

We learned 2 weeks ago how bad teams can surprise and crush us. I think the Giants' defense has the tools to a very good one, do not tread lightly...

It's the Giants, they are absolutely the favorite to win this game. That's not even accounting for it being a home game for them.

My only hope is that they have a major letdown after coming close with the Bills, just as we did against Chicago after coming close to beating the Eagles.

What we did against the Bears was an abomination. That would be real nice like if the Giants did that for us.

Somehow, we're going to lose like 15-13.

Giants d line ate us alive last year, I expect more of the same. Don't think we win this simply on that token

I want to see Rodriguez play more and pound the ball. Same for Hudson on D.

I think we will play more 5 man fronts vs Saquon who looked good the other night.

#1 focus, stop Barkley and Jones from running.

The 5 man fronts were reasonably effective v. Atlanta (they're a good rushing team, and we held them to 3.7 YPC). Of course, Ridder threw for 300 yards.

Giants Pre-Game Thread

Negatives
They have better coaches
Road game
Dotson turned into a putz
Oline
Barkley is capable of ripping us a new asshole

Positives
Their oline is worse
Our quarterback is better
Terry

I have a terrible feeling about this game. 3-3, division game, and a chance for us to go over .500 against a 1-5 team has Ron “disaster” Rivera written all over it.

This is a major code red. We win and it is season on. We lose and it is season over.

We're playing the Giants, we should all have a terrible feeling. We constantly lose to them.

And seriously, WTF happened to Dotson. He's playing like straight up ass. He disappears for about 58 minutes a game, and 1 of the other 2 minutes, is him dropping a pass.

He's clearly talented and seems like a great dude, he must be in his own head too much right now. Or at least I think that's the most likely scenario. But I haven't stayed at a Holiday Inn Express, so I don't know anything.

I was at our game in Denver, very close to the sideline. Turner is very skinny. Not short, but very lean. I was actually a little surprised when I figured out that was him. I think that's a part of not seeing him on the field much. He needs to add 20ish pounds. He's like 6'5 and 215-230. He needs to get up to like 250.

I don't think he's better than McLaurin, Dotson, Samuel, or Brown, at WR. He's gonna need to pack on a lot of weight to be a regular option at TE.

that's the reason he ain't playing. when he is in the game there is no threat of running the ball. i think by next year he can put on that weight. he's not done growing into his body.

Re: Giants Pre-Game Thread

Just stop the run. Same game plan as last week. More 3 LB's on the field, and 5 linemen. Giants are a mess but they gave Buffalo all they could handle. We aren't capable of blowing out anyone so this will be a close game.

What will EB do about all these sacks? Can they finally clean that up? We are on pace for almost 100. Absurd. Make adjustments EB.

We will. We cut off the head of the snake. This once storied franchise will get back. Harris is a great owner. See the Sixers. See the Devils. We got top five cap space. A good young quarterback. Some good young core pieces. A full compliment of draft picks. And most of all an owner not named Dan Snyder who people will actually want to work for. The future is actually able to be bright for the first time in a long time. Beat the snot out of the VaGiants in the meantime.

I’m pretty sure JDR and Daniel Jones work on the defensive game plan together.
That’s the only possible reason for Danny Dimes looking like Steve Young when he plays us.

Really need to win this game. It would help offset the Chicago loss and win a division game against a team having a rough year. Typically, Washington doesn't play well at NY. That needs to change Sunday. Barkley is a playmaker. Their new rookie receiver Hyatt is super fast.

Let's go Commanders!

Re: Giants Pre-Game Thread

It all hangs on the D. If they can produce more like the Falcons game and much less like the Bills game then we can and should win this. The noise coming from the players themselves seems to suggest they learnt some things about themselves and as a team. Atlantic are a middle of the road team, but even saying that this was probably the best D performance all year. I'm cautiously optimistic, assuming they don't regress.

This is the most important game of the season to date so far. We were never going to beat the Eagles for best record, but we have to be able to beat the Giants to have any possibility of a decent season.

SkinsGuru 10-19-2023 11:09 AM

Re: Giants Pre-Game Thread

I think the biggest problem with the defense is the LB's. If we play a team that is one dimensional we are fine. We can go with the 5 man front and do a decent job of stopping the run. Problem with that is it opens the passing game up and poor QB's like Ridder can throw for over 300 yards against you. Luckily for the Commander he sucks and threw 3 poorly time interceptions. If we use extra DB's instead of extra lineman we have a chance to stop the pass, but then teams will run down our throat. AND there is the problem, we don't have the personal for a base defense that can defend the pass or the run, we have to load up to stop one which gives up the other. Rivera the GM really as to go!!!! (and the coach IMO)

Giants just lost another Olineman with torn biceps. Signed a practice squad player. This is now without a doubt the worst oline in football. Chase Young and Co better not get clowned.

Didn't the Bears have the same situation? Really bad o-line. Starters out and what not. When have we ever seen this line totally dominate as a group? It never happens. You normally have one or two guys but never as a group.
