WR Poll
Who will lead the Redskins in receptions in 2005?
|
Re: WR Poll
Cooley!!! lol
|
Re: WR Poll
I think Jacobs will have a break out year. Moss will put up modest numbers though....Cooley would not be a bad pick either.
|
Re: WR Poll
My money is on Jacobs. I just have a feeling he's ready to step up and be the go to guy. Moss will have nice numbers yardage wise, but I see Jacobs as being that go to guy Ramsey will rely on. Cooley should also haul in his share, Patten will also contribute as a deep threat.
|
Re: WR Poll
Yeah in all seriousness I'm going with Jacobs. I think if he can stay healthy he will be the big suprise everyones hoping for.
|
Re: WR Poll
I think Cooley will lead in receptions, with Jacobs leading in yardage.
|
Re: WR Poll
I'm going with Moss. He's so much of a threat once he gets the ball in his hands. Hopefully running a west coast style offense will help his YAC.

I want to agree with you on Jacobs but we spent A LOT of coin on Moss not to make him our number one target! Coles was our number one and he caught 90 passes, although they were dink and dunk type passes! I think Moss is going to have the most opportunities........then Cooley! |
Re: WR Poll
In all likelihood, it will be Cooley. While he won't be a focus of the passing game, he will be the outlet receiver on many plays. If that nets him 5 catches a game, he's an 80 catch receiver. While he won't lead the team in yards, and likely won't be the leading receiver in any individual games, he will consistantly get balls.
|
Re: WR Poll
If Moss can't lead that group of WR's in receptions then we have big problems. Only other possibility is jacobs developing.

I second this statement. |
Re: WR Poll
I dont think Cooley will get enough looks to lead the team in receptions, although I do think he may lead the team in TD Receptions. I'm going to put my money on Taylor Jacobs, I really just have a feeling this is will be the year that he really steps it up. Its either Jacobs or Moss leading the team, if its anyone else we're probaoly going to be in trouble.
|
Re: WR Poll
I don't know why, but Patten seems most likely to me; given his experience and the fact that he is less injury prone than Moss. Cooley will catch some, but if he is our leader in receptions, that is not a very good sign. I would be surprised if Jacobs leads the team being completely unproven, but hey...ya never know.
|
Re: WR Poll
I want to see Jacobs lead the skins in # of catches, but I went with the numbers and picked Moss. He's being paid like a #1 WR and if healthy I think the real S Moss is more the 75 catch 2002 player than the one we saw last year.
|
Re: WR Poll
I'm torn between Cooley or Patten. I'm leaning toward Patten. For some reason I think of Henry Ellard when I think of Patten could mean for us. Just a guy who was always there when you needed that first down...then again that's what Cooley was last year
I could see Jacobs leading in YPC |
Re: WR Poll
I can definitely see Patten being a sleeper for us. I like the Ellard analogy. I always remember him being quiet until a big play was needed.
|
Re: WR Poll
Ellard was clutch when we had him. Even though he was on the downside of his career he was still money. He ran the tightest routes. Too bad we didn't have better teams around him.
|
Re: WR Poll
Cooley!!! lol
If I told you last year that Tony G would lead the league in catches and Gates would have 13 TD's you probably would have laughed as well!! Someone save this post, I wouldn't shocked if Cool Chris Cooley lead the skins with 68 catches next year! But I think Moss will have at least 75-80 catches. . . |
Re: WR Poll
I wouldn't be shocked either and if he stays healthy, I can see him breaking 1000+ yards.
|
Re: WR Poll
gortiz...doubt I would have laughed ...Tony G is and has been the best tight end in league for a while
|
Re: WR Poll
I can see Cooley with 50-60 catches.
Gibbs needs to get the ball down the field to the WRs. I think we could see two WRs over the 70 catch mark if things go right. |
Re: WR Poll
i think it's gonna be moss. second i think is gonna be cooley, he should be getting paid attention more after the season he had last year.
|
Re: WR Poll
we'll get koren robinson and he'll florish in our system goin over the middle
|
Re: WR Poll
moss with about 80, cooley - 50 maybe 60? he'll probably lead in TDs again though.
|
Re: WR Poll
Moss kind of reminds me of that Wal-Mart brand soda. You don't expect a lot out of it, but it's surprisingly good.

Thats funny. . . |
Re: WR Poll
Sam's choice baby.
|
Re: WR Poll
I think Moss reminds me of Coke. Lots of advertising, but it tastes like shit. But David Patten is god damn root beer float.
|
Re: WR Poll
I'm might eat my words if Moss gets hurt, but I think he can contribute in a way similar to Gary Clark or Ricky Sanders. :Smoker:
|
Re: WR Poll
I went Jacobs. Ever since he was drafted I expected him to have a break out year. If he can stay healthy he may light the league up.
|
Re: WR Poll
As of this moment 10:15, Tuesday, 14 June, it is 23, 11, 6, 10, and 1. I went with Jacobs.
I suspect the 1 vote was for Dyson? |
Re: WR Poll
i went with patten, i feel he is the perfect possession receiver.
i think moss will be more of the long ball answer and have the most receiving yards but not catches. cooly will have the most td catches jacobs will be the third wr and have a fair share of catches (this will be jacobs best year thus far) |

Yes, Cooley, Cooley, Cooley................. |
Re: WR Poll
Moss will lead with 70 catches and 1,000 yards. Patten will get around 50 catches for 650 yards. Jacobs gets about 50 catches for about 650 yards. Cooley gets about 50 catches for 500 yards. Portis gets about 40 catches for 400 yards. The rest get about 300 yards combined.

I really liked Henry Ellard too |
Re: WR Poll
And Cooley will lead in TDs. :oink:
