Pre MNF Vs Bengals Thread
What if, just what if JD comes out and shines?
I could see it happening. I really want Noah Brown 100% up and going with first team. Everyone is on the Bengals, but don’t be surprised if we come out and give the best performance of the season so far. -Can the defense build off that second half? -Can JD give us a wow , big play throw? Continue to do what we should have been doing last year with a rookie QB, run the fucking ball |
Re: Pre MNF Vs Bengals Thread
Hopes aren't high for a win, but hopefully looking to see a.solid performance and not an ass whooping.
|
Re: Pre MNF Vs Bengals Thread
If we lose everyone will say, 'expected'. But if we win... More pressure on the Bungles to win. Only pressure on us is to avoid embarrassment and/or breaking our new QB.

Re: Pre MNF Vs Bengals Thread
JD definitely need more support from the WR corp, so it would be nice to see a boost from them in this game.
The secondary need to step up big time. It's starting to look like Higgins might play the game, which will be huge for Bengals. |
Re: Pre MNF Vs Bengals Thread
I believe the last time we were on MNF we beat Philly right?
The Bengals Rushing attack is non existent (31 st) In the NFL. BUT... Our secondary is bad so I expect a close game to the end. I'm going with JD5 in this Heisman matchup 24-20 |
Re: Pre MNF Vs Bengals Thread
For us to compete week to week, JD is going to have to run often. I hate to say that but we simply do not have anyone that scares a defense besides him

I think JD, BRob, and Ekeler are going to have to run. BRob ran for 133 yds last week, against a d-line that has an elite tackle, and we need to capitalize on that. |

Re: Pre MNF Vs Bengals Thread
Honestly can't remember the last time I saw us on MNF. Pretty cool. I could also see JD coming out and killing it while the Bengals underestimate us. Going to be a super tough game but not totally impossible.

Re: Pre MNF Vs Bengals Thread
JD with 4TDs! 2 Rushing, 2 Passing, 300 Passing Yards, 100 Rushing Yards.
They've been holding the playbook back to let JD ease into things and they targeted this game as JDs coming out party. He will shine bright on Monday night! Will lead all rookies in jersey sales after Monday. Unfortunately the Defense is going to give up 500 yards passing so we still lose. |

Joe Burrow looking like the Offspring lead singer these days with that hair
https://www.nfl.com/news/bengals-cb-cam-taylor-britt-on-commanders-nice-college-offense
That "college offense" still scored on all the meaningful possessions last week. As the offense settles in and defenses focus on the run more the deep shots will happen.
Dallas and Philly both could lose (big) on Sunday. A win Monday night would be quite a statement by DQ and team. Sent from my SM-S711U using Tapatalk |

Keeping it simple is smart actually. JD is a noob and isn’t seeing everything yet…like every rookie. |

After looking at some all-22 film shot from behind the QB, I don't think that WR improvement is the primary thing needed for our passing game to improve. They have been consistently getting open on crossing routes but Jayden Daniels has hesitated to throw the ball when they are "NFL open", meaning gaining separation. This is normal for a developing NFL QB. Jayden is learning his trade. In time, he will anticipate his receivers coming open and complete more passes to them. |

Yeah, you are right. After seeing your post, I went on youtube and found The QB School channel that has nice breakdown on JD's Giants game and it shows he missed multiple open WRs. I agree with you, with a lot of people raving about JD's film study habits, I expect to see him improve in this area later in the season. |

Thanks for saying I was right about something. I'm married so I don't hear that very often. The tape I watched was of the Bucs game. Same story for both games. I think he'll gain more confidence soon and improve dramatically. |

I have a terrible feeling about this game. Please let me be pleasantly surprised when it is over.

Expecting anything but a loss tonight is crazy. This is the definition of a prepare for the worst, hope for the best scenario. |

Eager to see how JD plays on the road next 2 games, especially in primetime tonight.

I had this as a loss coming into the season and have no reason to change my mind at this point. Nothing will be surprising though as far as a result goes. The Bengals are 0-2, so if they lose I won't be surprised. Washington has a new everything and is going against a much more "seasoned" team, so if they lose I won't be surprised. I just want to see the team compete in all three phases, and come out on the other side as healthy as they were when the game started. |
Re: Pre MNF Vs Bengals Thread
This is the game to take some deep shots. It is one JD's strengths and could be super helpful tonight. I haven't seen as many as I'd like so far this year from him. Hope KK dials it up.

I feel the same way as you do about the deep shots. KK and DQ had better watch out before they get on my bad side. |
Re: Pre MNF Vs Bengals Thread
Forrest a healthy scratch? Will be interested to see if Davis can generate some pressure. We are going to need it.

Go Commanders! |
Re: Pre MNF Vs Bengals Thread
WAS is averaging about 5.5 yards per rush, CIN is giving up about 4.5 yards per rush. Let's not overthink this, KK. And yes, if they can establish the ground game, then I hope they take some deep shots off play action.
No stupid penalties and getting more TDs than FGs when (if) they get into the RZ would equal improvement, though. Should be a fun game, regardless... no expectations. |
Re: Pre MNF Vs Bengals Thread
I'm also rooting for Washington for survivor pool purposes :)
It looks like a ton of people picked the Bengals, just like a ton of people picked Tampa and LV this weekend... |
