#82 Ben Sinnott
What's the deal with him ? He's a 2nd round draft choice and he's far behind Chris Cooley (3rd round pick) was twenty years ago......
|
Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
Hopefully just learning behind Ertz. Can’t expect every high round rookie to get it right away. Jury still out imo.
|
Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
I think it's mainly because Ertz has been the primary guy at te and Sinnott needs more experience. He may see the field a lot Sunday with Ertz may be out. No doubt about it though, Sinnott is talented and has potential through the roof.
|
Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
I am definitely hoping he steps up if Ertz is out. I think the coaching staff has chosen the slow path for any rookies not in a position of dire need (ie qb and cb). This week should see more production out of Sinnott

Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
TE's are traditionally slow starters. I'm not reading too much into it yet. But yeah, if Ertz is out, ideally he steps up.
|
Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
Sinnot wasn't going to come in here and start over Ertz. He wasn't even going to win time from Bates who is a very good blocking TE.
|
Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
I feel like we have the same discussion every year.
Not everybody is going to come in their rookie season and become a key contributor. Some guys take time to develop. Let's revisit this discussion next year once he has a year under his belt. |

A little odd to see so much consternation about rookies on a team that's 9-5 and heading towards the playoffs. Especially when we have the rookie of the year at QB. |

guy needs to be on a gallon of milk

Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
While I’m not worrying B.S., John Bates seems to be playing well enough to cover Ertz in any absence

I would not be surprised if he has makes some plays Sunday. Really want him to get a real chance now with Ertz potential status.

I agree.....he's been too limited.....I blame this on the coaches.... |
Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
Zach Ertz has been playing well. There hasn't been a reason to play Ben more than they have to this point. I think Zach is ranked #9 in the league for Tight Ends in receptions.
If Zach is out, this will likely be a big opportunity for Ben. I'm confident he'll step up if that's the case. Eventually, he'll have his 'break out' game, and his draft position will be validated. |
Zach Ertz has been playing well.
He has played pretty well this year but has had more drops at a position that should have your best hands. Sinnott is faster and much younger. I wanna see what he can do now with this opportunity. Hope he plays some and JD targets him.

If Sinnott gers more than give targets I'll be satisfied with that..... they need to start involving him more in the offense....... |
Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
I’m calling bullshit on all the excuses.
You don’t draft a TE in the draft to just block. "The amount of things I can do is unlimited," Sinnott said. "With my alignments, with what [Kansas] K State trusted me with. I think Coach [Kliff] Kingsbury's going to have a lot of fun with what he can do and with where he can put me." I want to see some of this fun stuff he is talking about. Dude can’t beat out Bates. |

I think it's clear that this team doesn't rush players, and is overly cautious in giving playing time to non-vets and injured players. Is that a good or bad thing I don't know, but I don't think it is a reflection on any of the rookie class. Sent from my SM-S711U using Tapatalk |
Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
i think Ben is competing for Zack's PT not Bates. If Bates is in its most like to help block and/or a running play
Zack was definitely brought in as a vet leader that KK was familiar with and was definitely here to help JD5 along (short term solution at TE) Ben has to be their long term catching TE so there is no really no need to rush him But we did make this move Tuesday, which maybe for depth and tells me Zack is out for sunday https://sports.yahoo.com/commander-sign-former-eagles-tight-183322289.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAEUlurTDnfc5ShLwHLlCbU5RwFgmsqopgd3O5lZlyFM1Jxmc0Z6yLdEv61BL_BVCRZwT96gdblEizfRjhXB4fz2ZrOanZ1rKzivgfnJAm1xu4R5FiBFd8EdFpabEiG-1o9fJKZtuWodB-YTXkwrpWOqjCP5OdBDYzDx0uGqfEeuZ#:~:text=The%20Commanders%20(9%2D5),squad%20ahead%20of%20Week%2016. |
Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
If Sinnott doesn't play then John Bates will see a bunch of looks from Daniels.....Bates is a huge target at 6'6 260....
|
Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
Hopefully his comparison is to Trey McBride. Second round pick (55 be 53), offense run by kliff Kingsbury that has Zach Ertz at tight end #1, and they’re both basically the same size.
McBride only had 46 receiving yards his before December in his rookie year, so maybe Ben’s also a late bloomer. Or maybe he stinks. |

Sent from my SM-S711U using Tapatalk
This article pretty much tells the entire story on Ben Sinnott's lack of playing time. It's just that Zack Ertz has been able to do much more than was expected of him this season and John Bates is one of the top blocking TEs in the league. There is nothing wrong with Ben Sinnott. His time will come. |
There is nothing wrong with Ben Sinnott. His time will come.
I certainly hope you are correct. Expectations should be high considering he was a 2nd rounder. He's only 22 years old so a long career potentially ahead of him.

His time will indeed come. But Sinnott should have had more playing time in the offense......he should have at least 20 receptions this season.... |

He's had a few drops but overalll been good. Him and JD have a good connection especially over the middle. Excited to see what Sinnott can ultimately bring to the table.

Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
How great was that fake punt catch! Lets go Ben , looking forward to a break out sophomore year from him
|
Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
Ertz is 34, how much does he have left in him?
Sinnott very likely looking at a big role next year. |
Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
Let's hope. At this point I'm believing that they're both maximising the value of Ertz to teh team (he's established a great rapport with Daniels) and ensuring that as as Sinnott develops the transition is seamless. Not to far from how KC is managing Kelce's 'decline'.
|
Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
Was a nice catch on the fake punt! I think Sinnott will be far more involved next year and will prove to be a quality pick.
|
Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
Ertz said today he has no plans to retire and wants to come back, I'm totally fine with that as long as they get Sinnott more involved too.
|
Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
Sinnott needs to be starting next season. Ertz can be used in sub-packages or clear passing downs. We need to get more athletic on the field.

Re: #82 Ben Sinnott
I have a lil one, he’s playing his first year of football…he’s excelling at LB on defense. On offense it’s been tougher, bigger learning curve. He’s been at TE 2nd team. But this week he’s been some RB and last night H-back, which he looks good.
Got me thinking of Sinnott…he didn’t have the big break thru at TE, but I swear he looks like he could play an H-back roll…I wonder if Kliff offense could use him more often and line him up more in the backfield. I think it would be a nice wrinkle. |
