Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
If we win this game I don't know what I'll do with myself. I'll probably ram a hole through my wall out of excitement like a cartoon character.

Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
Not crazy to think we can win this game. If we play a clean game and get a turnover or two or some key stops, it could happen.
Either way anything that happens from here is just gravy to me. |
Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
Lions 45
Commanders 38 It will be a shootout but Lions will be one step ahead of us. If we pull off an upset; it will be a last minute heroics from Jayden. I just don’t trust our defense. |
Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
every week we play a team that has the strongest this or ranks best at that, and in general we find ways to neutralize those strengths. I think we do the same thing here:

Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
Montgomery is expected to play. Lions' offense is legit, and they have had a lot of injuries on the defense side. I agree with 88commanders, it's going to be a shoot out game. Whoever has the ball on last drive of the game will win.

I am actually happy Montgomery is back. Not that he it not good, but that is means less of Gibbs and Gibbs is amazing!! |

Good point |

Very hard to see us winning this...

Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
I have for much of this season engaged in bit of superstition, which is to say I have predicted that we will not win most of our games so as not to jinx us (and the ones I did predict we'd win -- e.g., Dallas game 1 -- has only reinforced this superstition). Of course, in years past, it wasn't superstition as much as cold hard reality, but I digress.
So keeping with my recent tradition, I predict DET 36, WAS 28. Any given week. I think we will need to win the TO battle by more than 1 (maybe Goff will throw 5 picks like he did against the Texans) to scrape out of DET with a win. Whatever the outcome, this was such a fun season, and I can say for the first time in decades that I am a proud fan of this team. |
Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
Move Goff off his spot
|
Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
Damn it feels fucking great to be Redskins/WFT/Commanders fan. Been watching pro-our team clips all night on national show replays. We're fucking back baby, only took about 30 years.

Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
Beating the #1 NFC seed in a divisional playoff game in the season after you went 4-13 is highly unlikely— just as unlikely as going 13-5[emoji12]

Bobby Wagner ankle injury making me a little nervous. I’m sure it would have to be serious to keep him out of this game, but I don’t want to even contemplate it.

Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
week 3 and 4 Detroit and Washington played Arizona back to back. We played them on a short week.
Also compare the Tennessee games. We have every shot at this! Sent from my SM-S711U using Tapatalk |

Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
Some say we have no margin for error against the Lions but I don't think they need to think of it that way. Have to scrap and claw and fight your way to the last few minutes of the game. Be physical and arrive violently often enough to be within 7 with two minutes to go. Then give the ball to JD5.
Lions are better but JD5 is the kind of player that when its down to crunch time the Vegas odds completely flip. Anybody anywhere anytime let's fucking go |
Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
Game is going to be very tough. If we don't turn the ball over and don't let them run crazy think we have a chance. Gibbs/Montgomery is a great duo. JD5 could thrive in the dome too. His legs and game are bigtime.

Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
Kliff and Quinn better come just as prepared as the players. Tall task tonight.

Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
It's a great day to go to the NFC championship game. Only 8 more hours to go!

Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
I think lattimore being up to speed on this one is crucial. that will open up the defense way more to stop the run. if we can stop the run, and he can cover st. brown, we can make goff start to force throws and look bad.
Our o just has to keep doing what its been doing. i say it week after week since the injury, but this would be a nice game to see brob push through the line for the extra yards. That would really open things up for us. This one is going to be won in the trenches. Either way though....hell of a run this year. |
Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
This is a QB league and the team with the best QB typically wins.
I like our chances today. |
Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
Keep it close so JD can win it at the wire, that formula seems to work well
|
Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
If they pull this one off it will be my favorite game, regardless of sport, since Game 6 of the 2021 World Series.
|
Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
Hopefully our OL plays big tonight. We'll need them. Doubt our D will hold but we'll see.

Re: Commanders vs Lions pre-game
1 more hour, boys!

I have a lot of nervous energy. Heading to our friend's house, all Lions fans...
I need to pound a couple beers, I think. Hoping for the best obviously, but know it's a long shot. LFG!! |
