TAFKAS had this posted in the news wire and I thought it was worth devoting a thread to.

Hate the guy all you want for what he does as an agent, but today the guy is a hero.

My hat goes off to the guy.

Yup. Most definitely. I mean just because you're an asshole at your job doesn't mean you're not a stand up guy outside your job.

This is all I will say about politics, but I don't like Bush as a president HOWEVER he looks like he'd be a pretty cool guy just to hang out with.

But anyway, there are several players around the league who think Rosenhaus is a great guy. And really all he's doing is his job. But yeah, hats off to him for stepping up when duty called

It's funny. Up here in Philly you should hear how the media is ripping Rosenhaus. I'm still waiting for the written articles to come out about this, but his comments after the drowning incident are absolutely sickening. I heard them on the way in to work this morning and the guy is just such an a$$.

I will give you that saving the boy's life was a great thing. No doubt about it, but you should have heard him talking to the media right after it happened. He actually used this incident to say that (and I'm paraphrasing here): maybe Philly will see that he's not a bad guy and give him some love.......even though the boy was from Chicago (yes, he actually said that), hopefully Philly will still want to give him and his client some love. He also described the scene as "mass hysteria" with the boy's parents in a state of shock......but he had the confidence in himself to know that he wouldn't fold under the pressure.

I know it's hard to imagine, but if you heard him, you might actually like him even less now than before he saved this boy. It was really funny.

I'll try to find a full transcript of what he said for you guys to understand just how bad it was.

He's definitely doing something right from the business side of it. We might not agree with his morals but he's good at what he does and apparently is a life saver. He's also a black belt. I was like WHAAA?!

Okay, informal pole, who thinks this thing was staged?? I mean, I have not read one sentence about this, and I don't intend to because the media has a way of twisting things. . . .something for sure is rotten in Denmark! ( from a Tarantino flick). I just don't buy it! He has to be public enemy #1 right now in the most popular sport in the country ... and now this???

This might sound wierd but i like him, he is doing his job better than anyone has ever done it and we have to respect that. I don't agree with holding out but i do respect him, he and 2 other people run the whole agency, no secretaries or anything, just them 3 and Drew handles most of the calls. He is unmarried and has a half a billion dollars worth of contracts this year. Well i will like him until he skrews the skins over, portis and taylor love us to much to hold out though and moss will learn to love us

I think he gets way too much heat. He works for his clients, his players don't have guns to their heads telling them they have to hold out, they choose to do so.

I think he gets too much heat and the players don't get enough blame in all this.

As for his comments after saving the kid, yeah I heard him on Rome today and there's no doubt he's still a loser, but hey, a little kid is alive today because of him, and that's all that should matter.

no way it was staged, the kid was 4 years old and was knocked out. No way could you get a 4 year old to act like that, the kid is in the hospital.

by the way i just heard that not 1 first round pic has been signed by their respected teams yet, maybe Rosenhaus will jump on the job

heh. you know they are all waiting for alex smith to get his contracts done. see all the other rooks wait for him to get his done so they can set the minimum for theirs. because they don't want to get a deal done, then find out that some person below them got signed to a better deal. but if they don't get a deal with alex smith done by training camp, we could see some holdouts.

I agree gortiz.........I think Rosenhaus staged the whole thing, to improve his image and get that edge in negotiation of client contracts.............. ;)
