Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
While the Redskins line did well, the same cannot be said of the Cowboys offensive line :firedevil:.......Dallas had hoped the O line would be better. Rookie right tackle Petitti was awful, Cards DE Okafor blew past him and the Cards took advantage of a slow moving line. Petitti started in place of Jacob Rogers who suffered a sprained knee. Bledsoe was sacked twiced and faced severe pressure. Cards QB Kurt Warner also had a nice showing against the Cowboys defense.........Can't wait for Sept 19......

Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
Even though it's only preseason, it's interesting to note that every team in the nfc east has lost so far. We'll see how the eagles do tomorrow night.
Great news about the Cowgirls line. |
Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
Bledsoe + no protection = disaster
|
Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
I think Bledslow will be a slight improvement over Vinny. Cowboys lose big in 05!!
|
Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
Yeah, our line play was just plain horrible. It's back to the drawing board for us on the O-line, RT is still open, it's not solified for us, and that's not good. Bledsoe is a classic pocket passer, and if our line plays like it did last night or like all of last year, we won't do crap.
I expect Parcells to light a serious five-alarm fire under their asses though. |
Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
the giant's line gave up 5 sacks, the roids only gave up 4 ;) looks like they got some work to do.

looks like our D will have some work to do on them |
Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
really bledsoe can't move away from the rush, i mean if he doesn't have a line to help him the season is over for the roids, i always feel it all starts and ends at the line, they got some injuries at the line but if they can't help bledsoe it will be a long season for them. We have the line and the protection and Ramsey's single preformance in a preseason game isn't gonna change my mind bout him.
|
Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
I think Dallas' only hope on offense this year is J.Jones. He's got to have big, big year if Dallas has any chance of going to the playoffs.

Kind of like with our offensive line during the Spurrier era....I still think Ramsey suffers from shell shock from those seasons...;) |
Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
heres a few stats from the cowriods loss, hopefully these stats will help cheer up some of you all, it definately made me feel a little bit better.
in 5 offensive possessions the roids starters only gained 27 total yards and 1 first down. the roids had 12 penalties overall for 91 yards, 7 of those were against their offensive line. in 4 series julius jones had 10 yards rushing on 6 carries, 1 of his carries went for 7 of those 10 yards. wr larry fitzgerald of the cardinals had 5 catches for 81 yards including a 31 yard td in the first half. :dallas: |
Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
looks like warner might still be able play, given big time receivers (boldin, fitz)
|
Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
maybe they should try to get their drug addict back, i am sure carter can ellude defenders some. Bledsoe better take his calcium pills because he will get sacked everytime without a good line. He draws blitzers almost the way Ramsey does, if you remember when we put hasselbeck in for Ramsey Hasslebeck got sacked less. Bledsoe is the type of player who will be good if he has good protection.
|
Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
Don't worry. We'll still find a way to lose against them.
|
Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
i don't know they had a 3rd and 50, really how do you get a 3rd and 50?
|
Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
a 3rd and 50? geez something must be horribly wrong if you've either been penalized that bad, or taken down for a loss in two plays.

Exactly! I was waiting for someone to speak the awful truth. It doesn't matter what third rate scrub lineup they have on September 19th, whoever they are, they will play like Pro Bowlers against Washington. |

either that or they'll play slightly worse than us but have the refs on their payroll. |
Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
ok ok, we will beat them, either we are cursed or we just happen to lose against a certain team that wears silver and blue. I am not gonna say we are cursed so lets just hope that we happen to win against a certain team that wears silver and blue.
IF THEY HAVE TAKEN OUR HOPE THEN THEY HAVE ALREADY WON WE WANT DALLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
either that or they'll play slightly worse than us but have the refs on their payroll.
I don't know, man. I don't think you can blame the refs for our bi-annual stink-a-roos against the Cowboys. Sure, there are some bad calls, like the pass interferences penalties in first contest last year in Washington, but more often there are just plain lame performances -- like the second game in Dallas when we were only good for 10 points against a defense that was really struggling at the time. Let's face it, the last time we beat them, Chad Hutchinson was their QB, and we didn't exactly spank them that hard -- it was only like 20-14 with a rare defensive TD off of a fumble being the difference. They own the Redskins, it's as simple as that. And the refs are not the ones to blame. |
Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
After Bledsoe got used and abused, isn't it interesting that Romo got the nod to come in over Jerry Jones' boy, Henson ....is Parcells letting Jerrah know who is REALLY in charge ;) Dallas' line is in deep trouble.......no one to protect Bledsoe's blindside......
and Adams was a disappointment last year. And I'm sorry, Larry Allen is over-rated..... We just gotta beat Dallas this year........... :dallas: |
Re: Cowboys' Line Fails To Protect Bledsoe
Arizona game planned for this game in efforts to bolster confidence in their team and to try and drum up enthusuasm for potential season ticket holders next season.for their new stadium
They succeeded...8 man fronts, blitzes and a new OC who has an enviable trio @WR Bad part is they just gave teams a lot of film As for the Cowboys? They were strictly evaluating..no game planning I will admit our OL was very shaky, but again no game planning Our RT by the way..a 6th round rookie..was at LT last week and was on crutches until last Monday Parcells was putting guys in positions that they were not comfortable with Proof?
"It's hard for me to really explain to you what I was trying to do with the offense because it didn't look like we were trying to do anything," Parcells said, in a good enough mood after that preseason opener to even poke a little fun at himself. "But I really was trying to do something. "I just couldn't give anyone here any proof I was trying to do anything. And I'm not trying to be funny, that's the truth."

"After the first series, Drew came over and said, 'We can play catch with Terry (Glenn) all day,'" Parcells said of his conversation with Bledsoe. "And I said I know, but that's not what I want to do."

"We probably would have called some plays with Terry Glenn down field," Bledsoe said of countering all that press coverage they were confronting. "We got a guy who can blow the top off that coverage, and we need to take advantage of that."

"I wasn't disappointed in him," Parcells said. "I really didn't give him what he does; I was trying to do something else. I think he held it once, but he couldn't find anyone."
|

You too, huh? Our 2nd round pick from last year's draft, Jacob Rogers, has chosen season ending knee surgery over playing through pain This is his 2nd year in a row he will not have even seen the field Bust. Fortunately, Rob Petitti, who was viewed as a potential 1st round pick going into last year has been quite the revelation He weighed 361 at the combine and then hurt his toe in Mobile and was sent home His stock went into a free-fall--all the way to the 6th round Parcells set weight limits for him 3 times this offseason--and Petitti, to his credit, met them all ..and is now 322 and battling through a ruptured blood vessel in his foot and the transition from LT to RT. He's taking his lumps but Parcells is really high on the guy Petitti is the antithesis of Rogers. Bledsoe keeps us from being a 10 win team...a team that could seriously challenge the Fecals Unfortunately, Parcells stubborness will keep Bledsoe, no matter how much he struggles, in the line up as long as he's healthy--just like Interceptaverde last year. And his stubborness of not inserting Henson/Romo into the strting line up last season when the season was lost set our future back |

Ah...no need to mention our recent success it speaks for itself Hell, why do that when a Fecals fan could say they've taken 9 out of the last 10 from us? Parcells just doesnt want to wait for a young QB to develop and would rather to and salvage an aging has-been QB--to the very bitter end Now its on to Bledsoehopeless Gibb's deserves credit for pulling the plug on the Brunell experiment (perhaps too late to the chagrin of skins fans) and giving a 3rd year guy Ramsey valuable reps in a lost season which can only benefit him. Then, Ramsey gets all the 1st string reps this offseason so at least there is a potential for an upside there The Giants get credit IMHO too by starting the future early even when they were wildcard contenders The Cowboys will be hindered until either Romo or Henson get the reigns--and even then there is no guarantee of success at the QB position and as far as this quote:
Anyway, I usually would say, "Good luck, except when you play us." But, as you are a divison rival, and the hated Cowboys, I can wish you no luck. Sorry.
I would'nt have it any other way :FIREdevil |
