LeVar takes 250 shopping at Wal-Mart

The morning Local Channel 7 reports that yesterday LeVar Arrington took 250 people here from the Hurricane to Wal-Mart and gave each a gift card to buy clothes and stuff.

Showed the folks with shirts and pants and HATS for him to sign too.

That was pretty cool of him and you could see by his BIG smile he was enjoying what he was doing. Bravo man!

Now, back to your regularly scheduled Quarterback Threads.

^5 to LeVar

peace to those people
mike

That's good news. I love hearing stories like this. Gilbert Arenas brought around 18K worth of toiletries and supplies to the DC Armory last week. Some athletes have their hearts in the right place.

I love all the athletes that play for D.C. Lavar stepped up big time and helped those poor folks out.

and in a direct, personal way that really matters. instead of callously writing a check for a negligable amount to an NFL player and just sending to a charity organization.

LaVar is an emotional good-hearted guy with a conscious as strong as his hits.

I love LaVar too. He is the man. That one time I saw him at training camp he was all smiles and as he left in his car he even stopped a second like he was going to give me an autograph but then all the fans mobbed him and one guy even hung on to his car as he was trying to leave.

LaVar puts up with more than his fair share and he still wears a smile on his face. I have a lot of love for LaVar Arrington. He's THE man. And hearing about this makes me respect him even more.

I hope he's a Redskin his whole career. We need a franchise player, and He's the closest and best thing we got to that. And as you just pointed out he's a great citizen for this city.

i agree, joe knows. when i went to fan appreciation day at training camp, his line was one of the longest, a lot of people got in the line, and we waited all day, but he stayed after all the players left so that all the fans got their autograph. it was a kind hearted move by him.

That's wonderful, but let's hope LaVar makes a little more of an impression on the football field Monday night than he did against the Bears.

Re: LeVar takes 250 shopping at Wal-Mart

Watching Comcast's interview with him on the Dallas game, he seems like he's not very happy as a Redskin any more. They showed clips and talked about how he usually single handedly crushed the Dallas Offense and his response was, "Well alot of things have changed since then. I don't know if I'll get to play much of a part in the game, or what my role might be but I hope to make an impact if I get the chance tp participate."

That made me scratch my head. LaVar needs to be unleashed on Dallas! After all, he ended Troy Aikman's career and had Aikman live up to his last name!

Didn't he end Testavertie's too?

Don't worry about Mr. Arrington's spirit bro.
He's got a clip board taking names!

Since he started talking with the media again he's had a very laid back attitude when talking about his play and the team.

I think he's just a bit more humble after his long road back and seeing that the 'Skins D could thrive without him.
