Noble Out 4-6 Weeks

Just posted on redskins.com. Apparently had to scope the knee again today. This is a shame as I know he was itching to play the cowpokes.

That blows. I wonder if it's time to just let him go. Him and John Hall

Re: Noble Out 4-6 Weeks

This is exactly why there should have been more of an effort to bolster the D-line this offseason and at least look for some depth.

Re: Noble Out 4-6 Weeks

yeah might be time to let him go, salavea can do it. But we definatly need some depth at WR MLB and D-Line
We have 4 WRs
We have 1 MLB
D-line we have killings and boshetti at backup for DT

Re: Noble Out 4-6 Weeks

I think it's about time we move on. He has been hurt so much I barely remember him playing. I think he was adequate when healthy and we should try to find a more atheletic, and healthy DT.

Boschetti?

Sounds like a good plan to me...

Plus, McCune is being developed at MLB.

As for WR, Jacobs is coming back. Wonder if they'll pick someone up? Farris (sp?) from preseason? A bigger body?

As for D-line, we've got a good blue collar group there. Plus, we kept an extra guy (Killings?). I'd be more into a pass rushing DE down the road, though they are not easy to come by...

killer pass rushing DE, true #1 elite WR, great QB and an extra corner that could start... thats the complete list for me. hopefully campbell can be the QB, and maybe jacobs can be that WR if no one else sneezes on him...

I believe that Greg Williams could put Ramsey on the line at DT and we would be fine.

Ramsey's impulsiveness may serve him well on the defense. We would create a new position called weaselback for him. He would probably be offsides, hold, PI and personal foul all game long. Or be unconcious.

Re: Noble Out 4-6 Weeks

i don't think we need killings, i think that we should just release noble, considering he's never very healthy, plus killings, and keep boschetti for the rotation with salave'a.

with our rotating system that'd leave us a bit too thin, we didn't keep as many DEs this year causes of our DT depth.

Re: Noble Out 4-6 Weeks

I think Noble is a great guy, from what I hear anyway, but it might be time to move on. Besides Salave'a is a good compliment to Griffin.

We have Aki Jones on the PS, but I think he's a DE if I'm not mistaken.

Re: Noble Out 4-6 Weeks

Noble is finished. He hasn't played an entire season since we signed him. Let him go along with Hall and Jacobs. What's the use of holding on to guys that can't stay healthy? Especially when Noble isn't capable of playing against his old team.

Re: Noble Out 4-6 Weeks

Yeah, I think he's done. I don't even think IR is an option either. Hall....I'd wait till he comes back, I mean he's a helluva kicker when healthy.

I'm kinda on the fence with Jacobs though.

I'd like to see what we've got before giving someone else a free upgrade.

What do you mean?

Re: Noble Out 4-6 Weeks

Noble is the kind of guy you have to root for. He's not all that big and he certainly isn't quick or fast. But he plays hard every snap of the ball and he has success because he works hard. He never gets beat for lack of trying.

Having said that, it is almost a miracle that he was able to play as much as he did last year after the injury he suffered two years ago. There was some talk that he might have to have an artificial knee inserted. OUCH !!

I hope he can come back from this one too, but one of these days, his legs are just going to give out on him.

Re: Noble Out 4-6 Weeks

Good post SC, I agree.

Sounds like Noble himself knows the end of his career is probably near for him.
Noble, who is expected to miss four to six weeks, said he is focused on playing through a substantial degree of pain in the second half of this season, although he may have to think seriously about retirement after that. "I've done enough damage to that thing, and I'm only 31 years old," Noble said.
This is really sad to see because there is no doubt he will have a severely debilitated knee later in life that will barely function. I think he should really look at things and see if he playing one more year is worth it in the grand scheme of things. Big ups though big boy you always played hard, when you were really f$#$'d up.

will our second round pick next year be a d-lineman now?????

I have always felt we should draft the most talented player first regardless of position but this is hard to pull in the league nowadays. I think this is a reasonable move but I don't know what we will get in the second round with the last pick overall after we win the SUPER BOWL....oh yeah!!! oh yeah!!!
