Round'em up
I say we round up all the guys who trashed gibbs and trashed the redskins, we line them up and essentially for all intents and purposes TAR AND FEATHER THEM by displaying the brutal threads they wrote over the last few weeks!!
Going to work late will never be so so so sweet!!! HTTR!!!! |
Re: Round'em up
Brunell played absolutely horrible for 3 quarters, if he can play anything like he did in the 4th consistantly, then fine. Otherwise, I still don't believe in him.
|
Re: Round'em up
was it him daseal, or the play calling?????
Stop hating on Brunell, when we opened up the passing game, he connected on 2 long clutch plays, give him some credit and admit when you are a little wrong.... |

Dude, I came back to this post to ask if it could be deleted cause I was caught up in the heat of the moment and thought it was a little harsh, but now I'm having second thoughts HOW COULD YOU HAVE ANYTHING RESEMBLING A NEGATIVE COMMENT??? NEVERMIND, don't tell me how ... let me enjoy this!!!!!!!! |
Re: Round'em up
Let's just enjoy this one for now.
We stole this one from Dallas, on MNF in front of their crowd and we rained on their stupid ring of honor parade, revenge has never been so damn sweet! |
Re: Round'em up
We just had one of the biggest wins in recent memory, leave it to Daseal to fart in our faces.
Thing is I don't even care. I'm gonna have a perma-smile for the next 2 weeks. |

Big choke by Dallas and Parcells- akin to the sox beating the yankees after trailing 0-3 in last year's alcs. |
Re: Round'em up
RIGHT ON MK7 .... sweet stuff huh??? HTTR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Re: Round'em up
And lets not forget Parcell is no longer 77-0 when leading in the 4th quarter!
|
Re: Round'em up
And lets not forget Parcell is no longer 77-0 when leading in the 4th quarter!
That's just an unbelievable stat.........I freakin love that the Skins are the ones to break that streak. What an AMAZING game! |
Re: Round'em up
Consider me tarred and feathered!
I've never been so happy to be so wrong! By the way, I'll be enjoying a tall cold one tomorrow, courtesy of my favorite Cowboy fan co-worker. How's that for talking out of both sides of my mouth? :thumb: I've got to say, though, until about 12:20 a.m. I was busy looking for change to buy him a drink tomorrow! Hopefully, Gibbs will decide to open up the play-calling a little more in the future, to keep us poor Redskins fans from suffering through flashbacks of 2004 for 3/4 of every game. Brunell deserves credit for hanging in there and making the clutch throws when they mattered, and leading the Skins to victory. |
Re: Round'em up
we have a bye week coming up after a miraculous victory. i think we could reserve the Gibbs/Brunell questioning for a week too no?
|
Re: Round'em up
we have a bye week coming up after a miraculous victory. i think we could reserve the Gibbs/Brunell questioning for a week too no?
Yeah let's just let this one sink in a bit before we go back to tearing apart every aspect of the team and coaching staff. It's been a long time since we've had a win this satisfying. |
Re: Round'em up
I'm enjoying this for now. I still have some thoughts concerning the first 55 mintues of the game, but at this point, whatever. We have two weeks, I'm enjoying this win for at least 7 days.
|
Witch Hunt!
I'm back on the vengence tip against our own fans!
How brutal is it that right now there are redskins "fans" that really can't enjoy this because one they are too stubborn to admit they are wrong and two they completely sold there souls and forgot about the skins! We should start an apology threads so those that crapped on gibbs and skins can exercise their demons and BEG FOR FORGIVENESS! he he he, just joking, MEMO TO that little piece of crap Kornheiser calling anyone who says the skins can win is a "IDIOT" to that waste of sperm Czaban who makes a living out of riding his hometown team, to the disloyal fans on this board - Joe Gibbs is in the house now! |
Re: Round'em up
Brunell is still average, and there are a bunch of things we have to fix....but we needed this win in the worst way, and Brunell, Moss and the Defense did it!!!
So many stats have gone to hell today...least of which are the 14/15 in the head to head for Dallas, the 77-0 for Parcells, and the skins need 100+ from Portis to win. If you want to look up the definition of "joy" in the dictionary, there should be a pic of Gibbs jumping up in the air in disbelief after the clock ran out. |
Re: Round'em up
You know I'm as happy as anyone, but Daseal is right. Thats all I'm gonna say right now, we have 2 weeks to get into the BS.
|
Re: Round'em up
Yeah I'm going to enjoy this win. But I can't for the life of me forget all of the bullshit comments about Gibbs and Brunell that I've heard in the past weeks. Some predicted the Redskins to get blown out. Oh ye men of little faith! This goes to show you, that when you spend so much time focusing on whose throwing the ball and not the significance of this game and why we would win, you really should hang your head in shame, because you didn't believe.

Re: Round'em up
SUNRA, Redskins_P, Cpayne5, GoSkins, Schneed10, and others, make some room on the Brunell Bandwagon. We may have some more folks joining us after tonight.
Matty, take the wheel for a bit. I'm going to have some celebratory beers! :cheers HAIL TO THE REDSKINS! HAIL VICTORY! |
Re: Round'em up
I say we have a parade down the streets of Constitution Ave. in D.C. and declare the curse of losing to Dallas lifted. Then let all of the Gibbs/Brunell haters ride on a float wearing Dunce caps with blue stars on them.

Give him a little time and we could open up our offense a little bit more. Man I'm going to fly into work tommorrow. |
Re: Round'em up
to me football is a 60 minute game no matter how you look at it. and a win is a win. The fact a team can go what 7 qtrs and not score a TD, then score two. says alot about the players not giving up. Its called heart!

That right. Remember When we led those bastards 35-3 in 1999. They came back to tie the game. Then beat us in overtime. And let's not forget last year 23 seconds from victory. |
Re: Round'em up
Please haters and doubters I know the win is less sweet for your bitter souls, but don't sully my moment with ramblings on the first 55 minutes. We just watched an instant classic game and the birth of the respect of Moss factor in the offense this has CB's, S's and Defense Coordinators very unhappy, and Clinton Portis very happy. Less 8 in the box = more yards for CP.

Re: Round'em up
I am keeping my sig, for a while. I am not going to speak negative of Brunell or Gibbs. Brunell did something that we have not seen in a long, long time, he brought the Skins back in the 4th quarter in a big time game.
We have the bye this week and it looks as thought the football gods are smiling upon us with the early bye. Brunell will get a 'mini-camp' so to speak with the first team offence. Gibbs will have this team ready for Seattle. I have never felt so good waking up after four hours of sleep to go to work. HTTR! |
Re: Round'em up
Daseal = "keeping it real"
Why am I not suprised? |
Re: Round'em up
Let's not make this about who the haters are and who had faith. If we can learn anything from that win last night it's that you have to stick together no matter the circumstances. The team was able to do that and the fans need to start doing that as well.
|
Re: Round'em up
Whether it was Brunell, or Gibbs, or the rest of the team, or whoever. I can tell you, Brunell and company has accomplished something NOBODY else has (at least since Gibbs last tenure). It is a major first step on the road to respectability!! Take a little time to "smell the roses"

Re: Round'em up
And lets not forget Parcell is no longer 77-0 when leading in the 4th quarter!
Not only did we kill Parcells 77-0 mark, but we denied Julius Jones the 1000 yds in 10 games mark that only 4 runners have. I remember they said that Eric Dickerson and George Rogers did it. Who were the other 2? :laughing2 |
Re: Round'em up
Ottis Anderson & Edgerin James
|
Re: Round'em up
i don't think you can blame anyone for having their doubts; i did and in the heat of the moment up until the 4th qtr. i def. was getting irritated. i guess that's why i, like most ppl here, never turn off the games. instead of saying 'in your face' though i'd say something like "aren't you glad you were wrong? at least this week." i sure as hell am.

Re: Round'em up
why all this attacking? brunell looked awful for 56minutes and then midnight stuck and he turned into a pro bowler, but whether its the scheme or him or whatever, we still had an awful 3+ quarters before turning the corner, so I'm still going to withhold judgement (brunell was great vs dallas last year too), but i'm glad we have the win and we'll see where it goes from here :)

You can withold judgement all you want. The fact is Brunell led this team like a true QB is supposed to. He kept them together and got the ball to the right player at the right time. And even rushed for 35yds. When it's all said and done, Brunell threw for more yds than Bledsoe, Moss caught for more yds than Terry Glenn and the Redskins are 2-0, sitting pretty with a bye week. How many times did we dominate Dallas for four quarters only to lose on a stupid broken play? That's why you play until the clock says 0:00. Remember last year? We dominated the majority of the games we lost against Dallas, so it is fitting that we get a win in the same way they have beaten us. It's called karma. Or as the old folks say, "What goes around, comes around." Mark (Brunell) my words, we will win more games than anyone can imagine. |

Re: Round'em up
Brunell's play was definitely not the problem with the offense. Our offense is moving the ball. Our drive Killers and in turn our offense killer was blitzes which turned to five sacks (Drive Killer). Penalties drive killers. If one of those two did not occur during several of the drives we would be talking much more points. I was one of those who doubted Brunell, but his play was very solid several scrambles out of the pocket to make plays to Cooley, Thrash, 2 scrambles that led to first downs with Santana then the two bombs. Dallas's blitzes created much problems rather than our offense not making plays.

the quick 2yard dump offs either in the scheme or whatever are also drive killers... we FINALLY opened up a bit at the end and we were able to move the ball much faster. |
Re: Round'em up
Portis is NOT supposed to have more catches than Patten, Jacobs and Cooley combined like he did last night. those check downs were what killed the drives. those dinky passes keep everyone in the box just as much as runs do.
