Smooty in trouble?

Hahahaha this is hilarious.

Who would've thought Smoot would get involved in something like that.

Re: Smooty in trouble?

maybe chris carter should go preach to his former team about not getting involved in of the field issues.

Puts a whole new meaning on the term "Signing Bonus". I am fairly confident this was NOT part of the package offered by Joe Gibbs' Redskins last year.

I seem to recall that Smoot was somehow involved in Sean Taylor's DUI last year. Didn't he get picked up going home from a party at Smoots?

No Taylor was returning home from a party somewhere in DC in honor of Rod Gardner's birthday. Smoot may have been at the party, but I think that's all.

what a suprise! guys in their mid 20's with lots of money to waste getting involved with strippers! why I never! i mean none of us would ever do something like this if we could....but if anyone actually could make it happen..... :food-smil

Re: Smooty in trouble?

A man can't get a bunch of people drunk, hire strippers and engage in oral sex in public anymore! Jesus, what has America come to?

Wow....and the news media would probably bury him that much worse if he was still playing for us!

Re: Smooty in trouble?

unless there's sexual assualt or it was clearly listed as prohibited before the cruise's start, i'd just as soon leave it as privacy and rich guys without enough to do. If it was a strip club they took over no one would care. If something super-bad did go down, i'm sure they'll be investigating and any victims will be well paid (off) without involving the courts... luckily it ended within 40minutes, so the amount of time for a boatload of drunks to do really stupid things was cut short.

Well, At least Smooty has a career lined up for post-NFL.

i got to believe he's wishing he was back here. tice is probably gone at the end of the year, so , smoot gets to go through another rebuilding while we are on our way back.
as far as the incedent is concerned. in public is the key thing here.you just don't do it in public.

celts32 10-13-2005 10:24 AM

Re: Smooty in trouble?

Who cares. It was a private party on a boat...don't the Minnesotta cops have anything more imprtant to worry about? A stripper party where things got a little out of hand...boy that's something that never happens...pulllllease. Leave the Vikings alone...it's bad enough that they can't even score a TD anymore since Randy left.

TheMalcolmConnection 10-13-2005 10:46 AM

I really DON'T think that Minnesota cops have anything better to do.

That's the point right there. Go have this party where no one else is around.

BigSKINBauer 10-13-2005 03:12 PM

Re: Smooty in trouble?

it is fun for us as fans to make fun of this, but i can't believe that the media actually cares this much. There are polls asking whether tice should be fired because of this, tice should be fired for a lot of reasons but this should have zero impact on him. I am not "offended" as some people are, it is a bunch of football players with a hell of a lot of money on there own free time.

The only thing i think that is wrong is if you are gonna have a sex party do it with your own crew and such, the crew of the boat must have been like what the hell.

firstdown 10-13-2005 03:25 PM

Re: Smooty in trouble?

The problem with what I've heard they took over the bar and were yelling at the crew. They were herasing an 18yr old girl employee and were having open sex all over the boat.

AnonEmouse 10-13-2005 03:35 PM

Re: Smooty in trouble?

"Doyle says that escalated to players giving and receiving oral sex.

Doyle said the outing ended early, and the boats returned to shore when staff members complained to the captains that some of the people on board were engaging in sexual acts and taking off their clothes."

I think the staff were complaining beacuse they didn't get any. Though if the players were perform oral on each other then they're beter off without!

OK, it's quoted out of context for humour.....

Seriously though. You ONLY bitch about stuff like that if YOU'RE not getting any. Even if I wasn't and girls were taking their clothes off, you'd THINK one would keep their mouth shut.

Re: Smooty in trouble?

hmmm ok i will make my usual ignorant statement:

please dont take offence, its just reality

the crew was either gay or racist. if most of the players were black and most of the women were white, and if most of the crew are white men....

yes i know its stupid to say. but some people have a problem with inter racial "dating".

skinsfanthru&thru 10-13-2005 07:27 PM

Re: Smooty in trouble?

If the rumors about what happened r true, I think it was more about the crew watching pole's getting smoked as opposed to what color those poles were. not everything has to do with the color of one's skin and I'm pretty sure seeing people having sex around u while u're trying to work, skin color wouldn't really have too much of an impact on whether or not u accepted it or not. U'd either find it offensive or u wouldn't or somewhat in between. but for me, breasts r breasts, cuz that's the way I roll. :biggthump

BigSKINBauer 10-13-2005 07:31 PM

Re: Smooty in trouble?

well i must disagree, i don't think race played a part of it. C'mon, there was an 18 year old girl getting harrassed, now some 18 year old girls might not want to pleasure Fred smoot or the wizinator man. Also some old lady said that the vikings jumped out of their limo and all took a piss on her yard.

If it was Onterrio Smith at least we can assume it was CLEAN piss.

Re: Smooty in trouble?

doubt its race, MN is just a fairly conservative place and i guess the crew weren't prepared for what happened and they don't give those kind of tours.

Re: Smooty in trouble?

Folks, I guess I am just getting too old.

IF the rumors circulating are true, these guys were way out of line. This has nothing to do with football ... you can't even put this up to team members bonding. This is wrong if you make minimum wage or a football players salary; not in public, not on a commercial vessel with a commercial crew, not when you are a public figure representing a franchise such as the NFL. This is conduct unbecoming and grounds for dismissal in just about every organization I can think of.

If my daughter were a crew member on that vessel and were treated with such disrepect, I would be out for blood. And I think the majority of you would also.

I hope some lessons are learned here.

I agree with you. A lot of guys I work with are fine with going out and messing around like that, but if you mess around with their daughter or sister, they get mad. It's strange how they hold their "women-folk" to one standard and have an entirely different one for themselves. I guess it's just hyprocisy.
