Friday Night Football

The Dolphin and Cheifs game has been moved to Friday the 21st at 7:00pm. I wish that the NFL would have more Friday games.

It interferes with the local High School games.

Sunday is my Holy Day.

No, I just drop by Moorpark, Westlake or Agoura Hills. The atmosphere is excellent, the games are fun and everyone has a good time.

So much better than anything I saw in England.

TiVO the 'Phins/Chiefs game and watch it when you get home, sans commercials.

You would have needed to find the local rugby teams- great sport and great fun to go to tournaments. And there is that bar thing after the games :biggthump

Yeah, but then I won't move from my couch all weekend.

I already have NFL, NHL, Premiership Soccer (West Ham United) and a lively girlfriend.

And she's got tickets to the UCLA game on Saturday.....

My Step-Brother played for our school Rugby team, I was at quite a few......:party-smi

University Rugby is cool, but still not the same Rah-Rah that you get at High School game, which I find facinating.

The NFL has kicked around the idea of adding more weeknight games. Personally I love the Thursday night openers. A regular Thursday or Friday night game would be great, u can never have enough football!

I bet it will. TV networks live off of the NFL, they'll switch up any schedule to fit an extra NFL game in.

Re: Friday Night Football

I think one reason we don't see more Friday games is that, if I remember right, some law was passed around the time the AFL folded into the NFL preventing the NFL from televising games on Friday night or Saturday if any high school or college football game was being played within 70 (or so) miles of the broadcast station that same day.

I think the NFL agreed to this in exchange for a law exempting their merger with the AFL from antitrust review.

I bet the NFL network our someone else will carry it.

ESPN does not have a game this week. I wonder if they'll pick it up...

Yeah I like it that its all on sundays. Its easy to make up bullshit for whoever asks and just say I have religion on sundays (which I do).

I really dont think this game will be on nationally, probaboly just the Cheif/Dolphin markets.

Re: Friday Night Football

If they moved NFL games to Fridays it would kill the free farm system. That's why no Friday/Saturday games. Keep the good 'ol High School/College feeder system alive and kicking.

Besides, down here in Texas, Friday night football is sacred.

Exactly, everytime I have seen an NFL game moved because of weather, it seems to only be televised in local markets. I will be extremely surprised if anyone carries the game nationally.

Re: Friday Night Football

They announced that only Kansas City and Miami markets will get the game. I'm not sure if those with NFL Sunday Ticket will get the game. I'm pretty sure they will be getting it, as we did the Titans/Dolphins last year.

I hope so. If it was a Redskins game I would be pissed if NFL sunday ticket didn't show the game. That's what I pay 200 bucks for. I think they will show it.

Yeah, Friday Night is High School football night - and Saturday is College Football! I think having NFL games on Sunday is the best option.

Yep. I'd be absolutley beside myself. That said, I think the contract states that they get to show all the games as long as its not a local blackout, so I'm pretty sure KC/Miami fans will be good.

No national tv for the game. It will only be on in Miami & KC.

Yeah, I too would love a Wed. or Thurs. night game. There's so many games each week, it would be pretty bad ass to have a nationally televised weeknight game twice a week.

Which I find absolutely crazy. Does CBS think "The Ghost Whisperer" is going to outdraw the NFL?

I agree. I would have thought at least the NFL network or direct tv would have the game but I guess not.

Probably too short notice to change the schedule's around. I'm sure it takes some time to get together a camera crew.
The game won't be available on DirecTV either on the "NFL Sunday Ticket."

The game will air only in Miami, West Palm Beach and Fort Myers markets, along with Kansas City and Topeka, Kan. Palansky said the NFL is looking for a way to replay the game on Sunday.
DirecTV is replaying the broadcast on Sunday at 1pm.
