Bengals Trade Dillion

To New England for second round pick in 2004 draft.

New England just got that much better.

SKINSnCANES 04-19-2004 04:28 PM

Well there go any rumors about them wanting S.Jackson. The Patriots are definitly going to be a force next year. Im glad we dont play them (until the SB alteast...)

skinsfanthru&thru 04-19-2004 04:31 PM

thats kinda scary if dillon stays healthy. i mean they haven't had a really solid running attack since curtis martin left. they really r gonna try and break the mold of champions not being able to make it to the playoffs much less repeat as champions.

BrudLee 04-19-2004 04:32 PM

Let's see...
A running back with a history of "me-first-itis" with the "No-I-in-team" coach.
Oh yeah, that's going to be fun.

New poll: How long until Dillon demands another trade?

SKINSnCANES 04-19-2004 04:35 PM

I see Dillons attidude changing real fast. Hes on a team that can win now. Before he was the only player on the team and figured as long as he had teh ball their chance or winning went up. Being on a team that can win will change you attitude quickly, plus they have a great coaching system to keep him in check to.

skinsfanthru&thru 04-19-2004 04:35 PM

he's not gonna demand a trade as long as they stay in the superbowl picture for the next couple years. this is gonna be his first time with a winning team 2 and that can change some people.

SKINSnCANES 04-19-2004 04:36 PM

Where does it say this trade went though, Ive been looking and cant find any info on it?

skinsfanthru&thru 04-19-2004 04:37 PM

man i gotta type faster so i don't sound like an echo

Gmanc711 04-19-2004 04:39 PM

They are reporting it on the draft show special thats on ESPN right now. Its a good show that breaks down the draft.

SKINSnCANES 04-19-2004 04:40 PM

lol, its cool man. Ive noticed that its happened a few times today though. Maybe you and I should make one of those commericials that compare two types of online service, haha

Thanks ill have to go put it on.

skinsfanthru&thru 04-19-2004 04:41 PM

has anyone heard about the other new england story, about ty law getting areested for resisting arrest and failure to obey an officer. the dude got out of his car and chased for like 2 or 3 blocks then when got caught he told the officers "not to touch him because he is a proffesional athlete." i think u lose the title "professional" when u run from the cops.

raleighskinsfan 04-19-2004 04:43 PM

There is also a link at NFL.com to this story on the Bengals website that talks about the trade and its implications, impact, etc....

sounds like money to me lol.

Defensewins 04-19-2004 05:02 PM

The patriots just keep getting better.
After just moving from Boston, where I lived for the last 4 years, I really have become impressed with New England. They make great personel moves. Their coach and GM have created the perfect model of how to run a team in the salary cap age.
Before I moved to Boston I lived in Maryland and I thought New England was another Bengals, Browns or Cardianls. Man have they turned it around.

SKINSnCANES 04-19-2004 05:46 PM

I dotn think anyone considers the Patriots a subpar team anymore, thats for sure.

I dont think Ty Law knew he was running from the cops, I think he thought he was getting chased down by his agents, the Postons.

Daseal 04-19-2004 05:47 PM

Ty Law was a black man in a nice car, I woulda run too. Coulda ended up like that dude that got shot 41 times in the chest in NY, or the guy that got sodomized with the broom elsewhere.

Why exactly was he running. Resisting Arrest and failure to obey a police officer are charges to tack on more fines/time to someone. Did he actually break a law in order to get pulled over or attempted to be arrested? Expect to see this one tossed outta court.

I don't think the Patriots will make it past round two of the playoffs.

SKINSnCANES 04-19-2004 06:13 PM

Who cares if you have millions of dollars and get a 150 dollar ticket. Why would he run... Unless he was with Wayne Brady, and Brady shot one of the cops and he didnt want to be at the scene of the crime. heh

skinsfanthru&thru 04-19-2004 08:40 PM

he was pulled over for a traffic violation. this isn't his first screw up with the law either. he got busted with extacy coming over the border from canada i think.

Daseal 04-19-2004 08:53 PM

Either way. Stoudamire formally of the Trailblazers (can't remember which team has him now) went through airport security with his weed in tin foil...

skinsfanthru&thru 04-19-2004 09:04 PM

he's still on the jailblazers i think

itvnetop 04-19-2004 09:13 PM

when i heard about stoudemire and the tin foil, i laughed for about two minutes... you've gotta be high to think of something like that.

MTK 04-19-2004 10:34 PM

At least Dillon didn't go to Dallas

SKINSnCANES 04-19-2004 10:41 PM

yea I agree. Dillon is still a solid back and doesnt need to be in our division.

Daseal 04-19-2004 10:43 PM

They'll get K Jones =/

SKINSnCANES 04-19-2004 10:45 PM

mabye...if hes still available then. I think Kevin Jones was a better back two years ago then he was last year. Hes going to get a chance with a team to start though, thats for sure. I wouldnt be surprised if hes gone by the Cowboys pick though. I also wouldnt be surprised if teams trade up to get S.Jackson.

Gmanc711 04-19-2004 11:09 PM

Kevin Jones wont have nearly the impact ( now ) that Corey Dillion would have. Hes much better off for us with the Patriots.

SKINSnCANES 04-20-2004 12:19 AM

Yea KJ would be more a part of our three year plan, which includes us winning a superbowl and the rest of our division sucking.

skinsfanthru&thru 04-20-2004 12:31 AM

i heard on the espn draft show today that parcels likes what he's seen with chris perry which i'd prefer the cowboys drafting over jones. jones is a homerun hitting playmaker while i think perry is talented but is a bit overrated.

Carnage 04-20-2004 12:45 AM

Agreed. Perry is talented but Jones is scary.

skins009 04-20-2004 01:33 AM

I'm afraid that Steven Jackson might fall to the cowboys now. That would be bad.

skinsfanthru&thru 04-20-2004 01:46 AM

he's not going that far down the draft and the cowboys would have to trade up to get him. the lions might select him at 6, the broncos will select him at 17 if he gets there but if the eagles move up in the trade with san fran, the eagles might take jackson with the 16th pick.

SKINSnCANES 04-20-2004 03:19 AM

yea theres no way that Jackson falls to the cowboys spot. I dont even think its realistic to think Jackson will be available at the 16th pick...Someone will trade up to get him.

JoeRedskin 04-20-2004 09:23 AM

I read the same about Dallas liking Perry somewhere. It also seems that none of the backs are really considered to be sure things. Am I wrong? Is Jackson supposed to be that much better? I thought I that read Jones is big but not "nifty" and that Jackson is a bit undersized and a fumbler. What is the one sentence lowdown on these guys?

jackson is a multi-tool rb with a good blend of power and about 4.3-4.4 speed.
jones is a homerun threat who never really got an oppurtunity to catch the ball out of the backfield and his weaknesses r that he runs too upright most of the time and he also tries to break the run outside too much.
perry has good speed and size but other than the first game last year and the one against ohio state, i never heard much about him to be honest. here's a link about each.

i think parts of some of these summaries were done before the last college season began but it's the best ones I can find out there since espn has made all of the draft stuff part of the insider membership.

JoeRedskin 04-20-2004 12:31 PM

Thanks SFT&T

Cowroids!

You have to remember one thing about the cowroids, besides watching out for all of the pookie! Their fans think their FO is going to pick-up all 32 of the TOP players in the First round! They think the same thing during FA!

SKINSnCANES 04-20-2004 01:54 PM

And you think as Skins fans with Snyder that we dont feel liek we are going to get all the best free agents and draft picks??? I dont know about you but im just waiting for us to draft Taylor and Winslow.

hi-jinx 04-20-2004 06:32 PM

This trade really opens open the likilyhood of the Raiders trading down. They need a RB bad and I think they thought they could work something out with Cincy and keep their 2nd pick. Now they have the 2nd pick and no RB is worth a 2nd pick. I see no RB worth higher then a 10th pick. Now if the Raiders move way down , some teams who need RBs may need to move up.

SKINSnCANES 04-20-2004 08:14 PM

They need a running back but I dont see them getting it in the first round. They really want another receiver to go with Porter. I see them hoping to get Chirs Perry early in the second round. They have the 35th pick in the draft.
