It is a hard one to take. The Redskins just keep giving games away!!! |
Re: Stomach Punch!
this is going to take a lot of time for me to recover :insane:

Re: Stomach Punch!
this has been one of the few losses in the last couple years where I seriously feel sick about how it ended. this just absolutely blows.
|
Re: Stomach Punch!
I agree that this is a horrible loss. However I remember last season or even the year before with spurrier where I felt entirely worse. At least in this game the Offense put up 35 points against the top Defense in the league. I feel that the Offense did not lose this game. The Secondary stinks as well as the blitzing linebackers that acquired zero pressure. I do not feel physically ill after this game, I do feel that this game does however kick the skins much closer to watching the postseason from home. Gameballs to Brunell and Moss. PLEASE do something with Walt Harris that doesn't involve him on the field.

Re: Stomach Punch!
this was a rocky balboa type of fight, unfortunately we got k.o.'d at the end.
|
Re: Stomach Punch!
But it should not of been a Balboa type of game.

Re: Stomach Punch!
This is the game, where if we miss the playoffs by tiebreak or 1 game, will be the one to point to as the main culprit.

Re: Stomach Punch!
Is anyone else wondering what the heck has happened to our defense in the past month or so?

Thier in NY and Minnesota! Yes I know Smoot is hurt but the loss of him and Pierce is killing us! Griffin as well being out is a big blow as well!!!!! :coach: |
Re: Stomach Punch!
Where was the defense?? Our defense has been giving one big play after the other. I guess people have figured our defense out. Everytime we blizted they picked us up and an almost rookie QB knew where to throw. Walt Harris btw sucks big time.. he was being made look silly.. I am really pissed about this loss especially the stupid dumb penalty we took and on top of that the bonehead call by the officials. Since when does your helmet touching the endzone make it a touchdown. Regardless our defense was unable to stop them in the secand half after we took the lead. Our defense better wake up and start playing with some pride, otherwise our season is over.

It has made mistakes this year. At this point, all we can hope for is they correct them and be ready for next week. |
Re: Stomach Punch!
yea losing today sucked it was truely gut wrenching i felt sick and extremely pissed i thought we mught do somehting this year.(although i still believe we have more then enough chances to redeam ourselves)

Re: Stomach Punch!
one of the worst loses i have had to face. some others include, philthy at home last year, dallas away last year. Honorable mention, giants this year, KC this year, and Ravens last year:insane:

Re: Stomach Punch!
For most of the 3rd and 4th quarter, we were popping TB in the mouth. However, the 3rd year rookie made some good plays and Gruden really stuck it to us by going for the 2pt conversion. Great call by him, despite the fact that Alstott may not have scored. That was truly a stomach punch, and hopefully, Gibbs will learn not to be too conservative when we're up.

Re: Stomach Punch!
Bottom line is there's so much to say about this game that theres nothing to say.... Could have run out the clock, should have stopped them, shouldn't have gone offsides, the elbow was down, too many turnovers, the def sucked, etc. etc..etc.. We still decide our own destiny.... Lets beat OAK!!!

could have would have .........

Re: Stomach Punch!
This one hurt a lot. I'll be spending a lot of time this week telling myself to think happy thoughts, that it's in the past, can't be changed, that we're still in the thick of things, that good teams take blows like this and get inspired, etc., etc. But I keep thinking of the large number of plays that coulda, shoulda, woulda won the game.
Oy. |
Re: Stomach Punch!
No it wasn't. Both teams fought strong. It was a great game to watch.

Re: Stomach Punch!
It sucks to lose, and lose the way we did. But I suppose there are worse ways
"Virginia Tech freshman A.D. Vassallo tipped a missed shot into his own basket just before the buzzer to give Bowling Green a 72-71 victory on Saturday in the NABC Classic and its first win over an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent since 1967." |
