Brunell sucks
discuss
|
Re: brunell sucks
he didn't play that well today, but neither did the offense in general. the O-Line didn't do their job, the backs weren't really picking up the blitz, and the the receivers weren't getting separation. the raiders' D should not look this good, so we shouldn't put it all on brunell.
|
Re: brunell sucks
These the sky is fucking falling threads suck
|
Re: brunell sucks
dont be a moron. the redskins suck. its all good though; next yr is our year!!!
|
Re: brunell sucks
Brunell was overthrowing and underthrowing WRs all day.
Not many drops, Brunell just blew it. |
Re: brunell sucks
Brunell played like an old, backup quarterback, oh wait... Anyway, his bag of tricks is empty. I wouldn't go so far as to say he sucks, but I won't be expecting him to win us anymore games.
And the O line was horrible today too. Why did someone come free EVERY time the Raiders blitzed???:banghead: |
Re: brunell sucks
he looked like the brunell of last year, couldnt move the ball at all the second half
|
Re: brunell sucks
everytime he went deep for Moss it was a post. so fucking predictable.
|
Re: brunell sucks
Brunell didnt just play bad, he made stupid STUPID decisions. The next time I see them run that streak to Jacobs, I'm going to kill myself. Whatever. I know were only 5-5, but I'm pretty much numb already.
Same old skins, different year. |
Re: Brunell sucks
the offensive line sucks.
|
Re: Brunell sucks
Have no idea why my post was deleted, but I'll say it again. No. Brunell does not suck.
|
Re: Brunell sucks
Sorry, my mistake. Wrong thread....LOL!!!!!
|
Re: Brunell sucks
Brunell played like he played last year. But this game wasn't his fault. Part of the blame goes to him, but it's not all his fault. He is still a good quarterback, and he's definitely better than Patrick Ramsey. We can't keep depending on him to win games on last minute drives. He can't do that on a consistent basis.
|
Re: Brunell sucks
Not with the sketchy line play. They don't pick up blocks. How would you like to be back there passing?
|
Re: Brunell sucks
If Joe Gibbs would coach 4 quarters of football or if Mark would play 4 quarters of football, we wouldn't need to try to win on last minute possessions. I don't see why it is so difficult for this team to play agressiver for 4 quarters. They get a small lead and then try to sit on it. The Skins haven't really tried to put anyone but the Niners away this year. That's why they're .500

Re: Brunell sucks
I had to watch the Steelers and Ravens today. Maddox and Boller SUCK, Brunell is average. I think we all started hoping he was great after we saw the improvement from last year to this year. He's better but he's not above average.
|
Re: Brunell sucks
a big reason for his early season success was santana moss... now that defenses are keying in, there's no other wideout to step up (aside from the occasional cooley pass).
|
Re: Brunell sucks
This game is on everybody. Don't just single it out on the quarterback or the coach. The offensive line can't protect consistantly, our secondary gets burned consistantly, we can't create the turnovers except when we turn the ball over, Gibbs couldn't come up with the right game plan, Brunell played poorly,etc.....this was a complete team loss.

It's amazing how whenever Maddox plays now, the Steelers lose. That guy is just bad luck. Even when he plays decent they still lose. |
Re: Brunell sucks
The trenches is where we lose every game. O-line isnt very good in pass protection and we cannot get any pressure on the qb GAME IN AND GAME OUT... OVER AND OVER AND OVER the opposing qbs are torching us. they have time to pick their ass and scratch their nuts before every pass, its getting a bit rediculous.

Re: Brunell sucks
I see you didn't have enough balls to post a thread about how Portis has fucked this team over by his inconsistent play today. He fumbled 2 balls while Brunell did not. No INT's either.
The reason a thread like this is ridiculous after this loss reveals how alot of you have selective amnesia because you watched Brunell make spectacular throws all year, in the pocket or while scrambling and you cheered your asses off. Let me remind you Brunell was the QB who threw the ball to every player who has scored this year. No anyone better? Brunell lead the Redskins to 4 TD's last week only to fail in cleaning up the shit that our defense has been giving up all season. Wasn't that 28 points against the 1# defense in the league? Well they weren't 1# after last week. |
Re: Brunell sucks
Whether or not Brunell sucks is really irrelevant. The more apt question is would we have been as or more succesful this year with Ramsey in there. The answer to that my friends is - NO!!!!
Brunell has had a remarkable probowl caliber year, and one game does nothing to change that. This is coming from someone who didn't support Gibbs at all on Brunell. I was wrong, Gibbs was right, and Brunell's heart is our only hope of getting in the playoffs this year. |
Re: Brunell sucks
Another thread hardly worth starting.

Re: Brunell sucks
I will say one thing, that pissed me off last week, pisses me off this week and i've seen it from Brunell before. When it is fourth and the game... I dont care if you dont have a single guy blocking for you, you have to...HAVE TO put the ball somewhere in play. You cant take a sack, you cant throw it away. At worst you have to throw the ball up for grabs on the other side of first down marker. Thats the only thing I'm REALLY pissed at Brunell for doing, because he's done it two striaght weeks. Everything else was a team effort, and so was that last play, but I put it on him for not giving us a chance there.

Re: Brunell sucks
he looked like last year he forced ball over threw..... in the last minute he had plenty of poeple open he missed every one of them ...i was never on his bandwagon he sux
|
Re: Brunell sucks
Who was open in that last minute?
|
Re: Brunell sucks
Who was open in that last minute?
Not one single person. The same way it was for 60 minutes. Some people exagerate the facts to make their point credible. Fortunately, we ask questions on this thread. |
Re: Brunell sucks
Brunell does not suck.. Did u think he sucked last week? Did he suck when he went head first to get the 1st down? This thread sucks!! I could make a million more points but its not worth it. If you think he sucks after one bad game that wasn't entirely his fault then you have no idea what your talking about anyway.
|
Re: Brunell sucks
dont you think some of those overthrows had to do with taylor lacking the speed that patten has...how many times did he over throw jacobs...brunnel doesnt suck he just has to adjust to the new personnel
|
Re: Brunell sucks
off and def line sucked, bottom line, anything else is mute,if we had M Vick it might have made a difference being able to scramble away from the pressure
|
Re: Brunell sucks
But if we had Mike Vick we also might not make anywhere NEAR the amount of completions that we do right now.
|
Re: Brunell sucks
This thread should have read: "Robert Royal Sucks". All the blind side sacks come because Robert Royal sucks as a blocker. Jansens play has dropped off a bit too, but attribute that to injury.
Sure targets like Cooley have become fumble prone now. Cooley has to be playing hurt. Portis' fumbles were inexcusable today. I realized the offense came out flat today right in the first quarter when our drives stalled at midfield. We weren't able to pick up third and shorts against the Raiders D? How does this team not come out ready to play in a home game after a loss?! Coaching staff equally to blame for this dismal outing. |

You're right, but for some reason at times our offense looks very simular to last year. There has to be a serious problem when you max protect and your QB still does not have time to attempt a completion. However I still can't imagine our passing game gaining any steam when we only use two receivers in most patterns. Teams have found ways to limit Moss and for some reason the coaches haven't found a counter. |

Thats a good one....nice comeback |
Re: Brunell sucks
MB is the least of the O's problems. The line line could not protect him yesterday and when he did have time to throw he only has 1 receiver thats a threat. When that receiver is shut down their is no passing game.
|
Re: Brunell sucks
What is wrong with you people. Look I was on the wagon last year calling for Brunells head. But no way are we 5-5 without him. To say Brunell suck is rediculous. The last two games we lost fall on the coaches, both offensive and defensive. Brunell has made a tremendous amount of plays this year for this team. Portis fumbles twice yesterday, but the fact is we are winning late in the game and should have been running the ball, not throwing deep ball after deep ball down the sideline to our #4 receiver. Brunell does not make the calls, and be glad the throws were a little off, because if not the would have been picked. Brunell is putting ball where only the receiver can make plays. If the receiver cant, then the ball is thrown out of bounds. Brunell has by far, been the MVP of this team so far this season, as well as moss.
Its the coaches job to find or figure out a way to get somebody else open if Moss is getting doubled all day. This crap of not having any receiver is just that, crap. They play in the NFL, they cant be that bad to where they cant catch a damn ball. Portis should have had the ball late in the game and he didn't. thats what it comes down to. Bad play calling. on both sides of the ball. |
Re: Brunell sucks
The bottom line is that Brunell has played some good games and some bad games this season. Either way, though, Gibbs' decision to make him the starter means we start all over at the QB season next season or in 2007. Therefore, we're in for a couple more .500 seasons.

Re: Brunell sucks
I predict the Skins will win-out and Brunell will be the MAN! At 11-5 the Skins will not only be in the playoff, but will win the Super Bowl!!! Brunell will be the most valuable player and will, of course, be in the Pro-Bowl and on his way to the Hall of Fame. Whatever you do, do NOT sell Brunell and the Skins short!
