Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
I honestly felt sorry for their TEAM last night. It was possibly the saddest thing I've ever seen. Forget them upsetting the Giants, that effort was pitiful.
As far as their fans however, it couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch... ;) |
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
I agree with the fans part - they are awful.
I'm not sure I feel bad about the team, though. I didn't feel bad for the 49ers when we rang up 52 on them. Of course, they managed to put a few on the board themselves. |
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
There's no way I can feel sorry for a team that had so much success and pretty much owned the NFC East for 4 years. Watching their downfall is sweet justice.
|
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
I agree, no way we should feel sorry the Eagles and their arrogant fans. Furthermore, with the NFC east getting considerably better, I think their dominance is pretty much over.
Poor McNabb, who know when he'll see another Super Bowl now - I'm so glad!! All of those NFC championships and no rings to show for it!! |
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
I think my signature pretty much implies I don't feel sorry for them at all. TO is their own fault and they don't have a backup QB who can play. The Rams, Jags, Bears, Skins, and kinda the Dolphins are all playing different QB's than they anticipated right now and 4 of those 5 teams won this weekend. The Eagles won't get any sympathy from me.
|
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
As weird as it feels I thought the same things. I'm thrilled the fans are crushed, but I do feel sorry for the team. I always thought Andy Reid was a pretty good guy, and Donovan McNabb seemed to be a class act dealing with TO, so I do feel somewhat for a team that has gone from being in the NFC championship game 4 straight years to the pathetic shell of a team it is now.
With the exception of Dallas, I never really like to see a team get blown out and humiliated. |
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
it was painful to see them get stomped like that.
|
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
feeling sorry, what?!!! It is sweet to watch these bitche$ take their rightful place at the bottom of the division again. Only team in the division not to win the super bowl in the super bowl era. What a wretched franchise! And don't even get me started on their pompous fans.
That said, I'm rooting for them to beat the Giants next week. |
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
I don't feel sorry for them, I just see a win on the schedule on January 1!!! We should beat the Cards and the Eagles. The question is can we beat the Boys and the G-Men.

I just have this "Vikings syndrome" fear about the last game of the year. I'm nervous about going up against a team playing for pride with our own season on the line. That said, I don't see them doing much without McNabb and TO. If they had one or the other, then maybe, but they have no playmakers left. |
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
Any idea why Westbrook didn't play that much last night? I don't remember him going out hurt, but I was just listening to it in bed.
|
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
If you're feeling sorry for the Eagles right now, go curl up under a warm blanket with a cup of hot tea, cuddled up next to your little puppy, and hunker down for the winter, because I henceforth forbid you from watching football.
There is no WAY we should be feeling sorry for them. They owned us for so many years and had chance after chance after chance to win it all. |
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
I was laughing when the score was 21-0, but seriously, can you imagine being Detmer when he came in? I'd be like, "Um, coach. I'm hurt."
Oh how the mighty have fallen. |

As far as their fans however, it couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch... ;)
I thought I was a better person than this. But I dont feel one bit bad. I love watching the Eagles lose...especially after hearing it through 4 years of college in Philly. And on a personal note, I loved how empty their stadium was by midway through the THIRD quarter. I got into an argument with an Eagles fan at this years home game about just that topic. Normally I ignore annoying people while waiting in line to get into the stadium, but when he called Skins fans a bunch of fairweather fans who only come to the games when we are winning, I had to jump in. I hope that idiot was sitting there freezing his a$$ off wondering where all of his "diehard" fans had gone! Moral of the story: Skins fans rule! |
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
The Eagles organization had become a smug bunch of jerks over the last few years. Management felt they could handle players however they chose and reap no ill-will or public consternation. For a team with the success they had and a players coach like Reid you didn't see players taking below market value deals to play there like in NE. That should tell you how players felt about the Eagles. Now it is coming back to bite them in the ass. They have neglected to add depth at key positions. Their one major free agent aquisition was a complete disaster. They have an overrated QB, no running game to speak of, zippy WRs and the most hateful assholes for fans in general. In short, no I don't feel bad for them. I hope they never win another game. I'd love if they went 0-16 next year and lost every game 42-0. I have said it before, watching the Eagles lose ranks second to only watching the skins win.

Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
oh,how fast the window of opportunity closes.as arrogant as the eagle fans have been the last 5 years, how could any non eagle football fan not enjoy their demise that started last night?i think its alwful fishy that as soon as the ship starts sinking, alot of the big name players start jumping.it seems like the whole team is ready to cash in this season
|
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
There's no reason to feel sorry for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Let's keep in mind how they stomped us (and danced in our end zone) several times while we were down in the past four years. Let's return the favor on New Year's Day. |
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
AS for the fans I loved watching them leaving with their heads down as they left the stadium. For some of the players I did feel kind of sorry for them trying to win or just score some points only to have the Seahawks score again on D. Oh, but then I realized it was the Eagles and just started laughing. I only hope we can whip up on them the same way.
|
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
it is kind of strange seeing the eagles suck so much ass. but im glad because the fans deserve it since they are the biggest assholes in football. hopefully they will be down and out for a while.

Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
I am glad the Eagles organization lost badly. I hope the Eagles organization continues to slide as it becomes clearer and clearer to players that it's all business, none of this "we are family" stuff. As FRPLG noted, nobody seems to offer the hometown discount to them and they are pretty merciless with older vets. (yes Trotter and Douglas came back, but they seem to be the exception not the rule). I hope they enjoy their wonderful cap numbers as they slip into mediocrity.
As for the fans - I hate them. Generally, I believe in sportsmanship and "sports karma", and so I don't like to wish ill upon other fans. For Philly, however, that goes out the window. These smug, loudmouthed, thugs deserve any bitter disappointments they receive. Now that they are losing, let's just see what kind of fans they really are. I hope every one of the 42 points caused them pain. As for the athletes, for the most part they seem like class guys, and I will not wish injury or other ills upon them. I hope they lose but do not wish for the players themselves be embarrassed. It is, however, all part of the game. They play for the wrong team and I will always root against them. Summary: dislike the smug organization, hate the fans, am ambivalent about the atheletes and, as long as the Eagles keep getting "L" 's, I am happy. |
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
The way I see it is that is very beneficial for us if the Eagles get destroyed from here on out. With any luck, our last game in Philly is going to mean something, and it will be a lot easier to win if there are as many Skins fans at Stinkin Financial as there are Smeagol fans. They are the ones who are fairweather.
|
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
Fairweather a**holes is what they are.
I hate to keep beating a dead horse, but I distinctly remember their website from earlier this year (around pre-season when the TO debacle was heating up) how they were poking jokes and fun about our losing ways, our fans and how we're not half the organization as they are! They profess to know sooooo much about football and winning, and coaching etc. Four championships later and no rings to show for it!!! My, how the Mighty have fallen!!! |
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
Did anyone see how empty the stadium was after halftime? They mostly showed up close shots of the stands, but the did a flyby right when they came back after halftime. They couldn't have been much more then 35% full.
|
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
There is no way a team can stay on top for long in todays NFL. the Eagles and the Patriots have been on top for years. The time for them to be on top is over.
No need to feel sad or feel sorry for them, it happens to all teams. T.O. or no T.O.; McNabb or no McNabb this team was due to be dropped a notch. Injuries, salary cap it all catches up to you. |
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
I felt bad for them a bit, but not too much, they got what was coming. As for their fans, i couldn't have thought about a nicer christmas present for them.
|
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
stupid bandwaggon whores got so much shit today from me. I felt bad yesterday but today i threw stuff at every eagle fan that I know. HAAAAAAA they were so sad. Last year at this time I had to listen to all their bitching and now they have nothing to say. I think they are trying to jump on some other bandwaggons but i think after a while they have grown fond of the eagles and can't betray them. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA What a beautiful day

Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
They reaped what they sowed. They took a gamble on Owens. They knew what they were getting and took the risk. And it worked. They are a super team with Owens AND when healthy.
But Owens is Owens. Having gotten to the Eagles after whining about his free agency - when his agent failed to file the right papers - and when he refused to report to the Ravens - it should have been no surprise how corrosive TO can be whenever he gets in a pout. The Eagles run a first class organization. I admire how they manage their salary cap, their talent level and game plan. Guess they figured they could handle whatever would come. Who knew? They got what they deserved, but I do feel sorry for the players, especially, McNabb. This sympathy does not apply to their obnoxious fans!!! :Flush: |
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
That thread is even more ridiculous now that they are losing - who's laughing now.....BITHCES!!

Feel bad for Philly?????? NEVER.. Their ship is sinking fast and they won't recover next year either.
|
Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?
Here is one reason I hate these bastards look at this post..poor loser bastards
there's this one lady that always gives me shtein about the Eagles whenever they lose. so today, i come in, tired from last night. she says in her whiney, high pitch voice, laughing "Well the Eagles looked terrible last night." I just responded, "Yeah, but not as terrible as your ass looks in those pants." and just kept walking. |
