Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
Did he completely blow off Gibbs after the game? After the first Skins victory over Dallas, he did kind of a half-handshake. This time, Joe Buck said it looked like Parcells wouldn't even acknowledge Gibbs. What a prick!

Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
yea hes gay
|
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
I noticed that too... utter lack of respect. Well, he did get out-coached and embarassed again, so... F-em. The tuna was canned!!!!!!!!
|
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
Whatever, screw him.
|
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
No need to focus on that petty stuff, leave that to Dallass fans. We won. We STOMPED them. That is all that matters.
|
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
parcells is the biggest asshole for a coach
|
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
I just saw the replay on the Fox postgame, and he did shake hands with Gibbs. Still a jerk, but no reason to dwell I guess.
|
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
BRING ON THE FREAKING GIANTS........ hows that for low-key

yeah it just took him a while but he acted the same way after the last game. all the media treats him like he's god's gift to football despite how frequently he shows he's a giant prick. |

I really don't think we should talk about this, because i remember after the first game against the cowboys last season (MNF, cowboys won 21-18) Parcells wanted to shake Gibbs' hand but gibbs barely acknowledged him and walked away. Cowboys fans were calling gibbs classless after that one. I just believe that gibbs was too upset after that close loss, that he just wanted to get off the field quick. |
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
Everytime we play the Cowboys why does the postgame handshake have it's own thread?
Seriously... who cares?? |
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
Guys Gibbs and Parcells shook hands after the game and Fox showed the handshaking in their OT show after the game!

It's pretty cool that they don't like each other. Adds some additional fuel to the rivalry. I loved the gamesmanship at the end of the game when Parcells wouldn't take a knee and Williams kept bringing the house on Bledsoe till we got a pick. Perfect ending!! |
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
They should STAMP "NO CLASS" on those tuna cans!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT A GREAT WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ummmm....Another 2 lucky plays?........HEHEHEHE:woot: I LOVE THE REDSKINS!!!!!!!!!! |

Yea, I have seen him do that to Parcells too. Definately, no love lost between the two |

Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
Although they weren't exactly close in the 80's, I thought that they became friends after Gibbs retired. In fact, I seem to recall Parcells sending Gibbs an email after learning of Gibbs return saying: does this mean we can't be friends anymore, or something like that.
|
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
actually i always thought that Gibbs and Parcells got along. At least that's what i heard, i remember hearing somewhere that after Gibbs came back into the leauge, B.P. was the first one to send him an email, trying to talk to him.

Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
I do.
Why? |
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
At least he shook Gibbs hand. Tomorrow he's going to wring some cowboy necks!
This is a stressful job and when you lose the way the Tuna's team lost, you are going to be a little p*$$ed. Parcells sees Gibbs as his toughest rival. If his handshake wasn't sincere, it also wasn't personal. Cut the man some slack. |
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
yea, kind of coach is Bill Parcells anyway? He is a sore looser
|
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
Some people complained about players being a little too happy after games, now it's coaches that are sore losers.
|
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
Not that I care all that much, but I did think it was funny when Gibbs was walking off and looking over at Parcells and waved and kinda did a "ok just a wave ok thats fine, just a wave". I didnt see that they eventually shook hands but oh well...
|
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
I thought this thread was going to be about the fact that he refused to take a knee even when the game was so over that FOX was showing us with 8 wins, etc. What was the point of that? Have a little class--admit it's over like a man, and get off the field. (In response, Williams blitzed like 10 guys, and bledsoe grounded the ball twice. Weird.)

Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
It is alway fun to watch post game with Tuna after they lose!!!! Great theater!!! It was funny as hell when he said after a few questions from the reporters "what do you think this is a state of the union address!"!!! I bet a punter and maybe someone else is without a job monday!!!

Yes, this is what I saw as well. At first, Gibbs motioned as if a wave would be fine, but then, another replay showed them with a brief handshake and that was it. I saw absolutely no disrespect on Parcells' part. He an old-school guy, and takes losses very seriously. If any of us expected him to kneel in front of Gibbs and kiss his feet, or share a laugh and yuck it up with him, that's not going to happen. He was beaten, he acknowledged his opponent after the game, and left the field. That's exactly what we always say our players should do after a loss. |
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
got to remember thats an awful long walk the whole way across the field for BIG bill
|
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
Did you see him on the sidelines after his punter kicked a 15-yarder? He deliberately sought the punter out on the bench and stared at him. Gibbs would never do such a thing to any player in the glare of the camera's eye. As if the punter was the reason they were losing! It was hilarious to see the punter get up from his seat and move away, after the staredown with Parcells.

Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
What I thought was the best of all was that Dmitri Patterson had a pick in front of Keyshawn!!!
|
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
It didn't mean anything. Parcells showed a lot class and respect at the press conference. These guys have been duking it out for a few years. I'm quite sure its tuff to lose to your rival like that and not feel any emotional.

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE POST BEFORE RESPONDING. I posted because Parcells completely blew off Gibbs - he didn't go to midfield and refused to even wave to Gibbs after the game. That is a classless move. IMPORTANT PART OF THE POST: When I posted originally, that is what the commentators said happened. This isn't a "Parcells gave him a limp handshake and gave Gibbs a mean look" post. There is nothing inferential to dissect regarding what happened. I thought it was important. Feel free to disagree, but don't presume you are right on a matter of opinion. HOWEVER, once I saw the replay, I immediately posted this:
I just saw the replay on the Fox postgame, and he did shake hands with Gibbs. I wouldn't wish and injury on anyone but if there was a time for someone to get injury for the sake of justice it would have been right here. What a douch bag Parcells is. Forget the after-game pleasantries. If I was on a team that was getting pounded I would expect us to lay off to make sure we didn't get any injuries. The way Parcells kept on trying to get a meaningless score really put his guys in a bad situation and was completely inexcusable. What a jerk. |

That was just bizarre - the only thing I can think is that it was spiteful, but that's just speculation. |

I gotta say that kinda pissed me off more than anything. Parcells is so utterly beaten and outplayed and now he's taking a timeout with 17 seconds left, down 35-7? Just end it, jackass. I LOVED Williams bringing the heat on a jerkoff coach who's unwilling to admit defeat. And that final interception...serves Parcells right. |
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
That was just bizarre - the only thing I can think is that it was spiteful, but that's just speculation.
I think that is exactly what it was. It was spiteful towards both the Skins who he forced to have to defend and his own players who he needlessly put in harms way. No excuse. Again, what a jerk. |
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
It was payback for Gibbs fish like hand shake last year or did you for get about that one? You know this two coaches do not like each other. It would not surprise me of Parcells is calling the Giants coach this morning

Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
Frankly, I liked what Buddy Ryan used to do as the HC of thge Eagles and the Cardinals. Win, lose or draw, Ryan just jogged off the field at the end. He didn't go to shake hands or wave at the other guy or flip him the bird or anything. He just put his head down and jogged to the locker room.
At that point in the day, his job was done. It was "Miller Time". All the "ceremony" of a handshake and that kind of stuff is forced most of the time so he just ignored it. And he ignored it with EVERYONE in EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE. If all coaches did that, we wouldn't have these kinds of threads... All by itself, that would be a benefit for maknkind. |
Re: Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?
I think it was great the way it ended. Parcell was mad at his players for playing so poorly and mad at us for beating the crap out of them. I wish all our games ended this way. It was on national TV and everyone was watching.

Tuna was mad as hell about the way his team had just performed so he decided to keep them out there as long as he could. Shows his style ha!! |
