Winslow Threaten's Skin's!

Seem's like little kellen has an ax to grind he say's he's hurt that we didn't pick him, and that we picked the wrong player, and that we promised that we would pick him, or do everything we could to pick him if he was avail. Which is it kellen, we said we try? Or we said we would? Further more If he truley wanted to play for us then he should have made it known by not hiring the poston's, But he's on record as saying payback is coming soon week 4 to be exact, I now have a new target for lavar, and taylor, it's WINSLOW, I am now glad we didn't take him, peronally I think the guy is a dummy, But I do wish him good luck in cleveland, he's gonna need it.

MTK 04-24-2004 06:44 PM

whatever, bring it on. Let Taylor lay a few good licks on him!

beg8878 04-24-2004 06:44 PM

where did you read this?

MTK 04-24-2004 06:46 PM

Gibbs was just on ESPN

offiss 04-24-2004 06:47 PM

They interviewd winslow on comcast, I got it right from the horses mouth.

Daseal 04-24-2004 06:49 PM

He looked absolutely shocked when we didn't pick him honestly.

offiss 04-24-2004 06:50 PM
He looked absolutely shocked when we didn't pick him honestly.
He looked more like he couldn't believe he has to play in cleveland.

Daseal 04-24-2004 06:51 PM

I was hoping we'd trade with Detroit and grab both, oh well!

offiss 04-24-2004 06:55 PM
I was hoping we'd trade with Detroit and grab both, oh well!
At this point I hope we trade with anybody!

hi-jinx 04-24-2004 07:17 PM

He choose his agent and the rumor is the Gibbs personaly told his family that it was a mistake. The Skins, in most teams don't want to deal with the Postons and I don't blame them. Perhaps next year's top draft picks will think twice about their choice of agent.

Ghost 04-24-2004 07:32 PM

Great players (such as Michael Jordan) sometimes exaggerate a minor issue and turn it into a big insult to be used as motivation. I think that's what Winslow's doing. I wish we could have gotten both of them somehow but I think the team needs Taylor more than Winslow at this point. Our D should be pretty decent next season, especially if they can add a couple solid players on the DL from among the post June 1 cuts.

That said, Kellen Winslow can't be happy about going to Cleveland ... I bet he was hoping for D.C. and a unique specialized role as H-back in Gibbs' offense.

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 07:41 PM

hes happy to be in Clevland, his with the Coach that recruited him to play college football. He'll do well in Clevland and should be happy their, his dad just wanted to see him play for the same coach.

Dave Butz Baby! 04-24-2004 07:42 PM

Given his reaction, I'm glad we didn't pick him.

itvnetop 04-24-2004 08:34 PM

think our defense needs any more newspaper headline motivation? i'm really looking forward to week 4 now.

GibbssbbiG 04-24-2004 09:27 PM

LaVar + Marcus shall - OBLITERATE - KW2 -- he asked 4 it!!

Sorry SKINSnCANES & all Miami fans.

Not being drafted by Redskins was the outcome of shallow & short_sighted decision of hiring unethical thug Postons by his dad – KW1 & other family advisers.

KW2 – u ask 4 it!! – and we will satisfy your need to get squashed.

Just u wait kellen.jr -–- LaVar -- MarcusW -- Bowen -- STaylor are coming to OBLITERATE u big-time.

*
*
During the 4th regular season game on ( Oct/3/2004 ), KW2 will be screaming for mercy to LaVar / Marcus / Bowen / Sean ... ...

me_kellen:__:eek:______"me say, me beg U all, not to pummel me silly no more."______:smashfrea

me_kellen:__:screama:______"me is screaming for mercy, me cockroach has lost 3 legs, me is asking U all forgiveness."

*Note: KW2 = me_kellen = me.
*cockroach as an insect has 6 legs.

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 09:36 PM

haha, its cool, he'll be a good player but already on day one his running his mouth. Im glad we took taylor and now cooley

drew54 04-24-2004 09:39 PM

I was almost sick when ESPN said we were 90% set on KWII. I didnt know if I was going to be able to eat my BBQ chicken.

Thank god we didnt select him. I cant wait for week four. My brother lives in Cleveland and we are trying to get tickets for that game. It should be a fun one.

Daseal 04-24-2004 09:41 PM

Did anyone understand GibbssbbiG's post?

I can understand him being upset if we told him we were going to take him. I mean, I think he was probably excited and wanted to join a team where he knew he'd be critical to the system. I don't know about threatening, but I still would be disappointed to.

That's like going to a job interview and them saying the job is all but yours. Let us just terminate the current employee. Then they go around and hire your wife. (In this analogy Sean Taylor and Kellen Winslow are married!)

It seem's to me he's a misunderstood genious, as genious alway's is. lol

SmootSmack 04-24-2004 11:42 PM

I get his post. I think the confusion is in referring to Kellen as "Me-Kellen", an apparent reference to "Me-Shawn" which of course, is a play on the self-centered, arrogance of "Keyshawn"

But "Me-Shawn" and "Keyshawn" sounds similiar enough that it works. Valiant attempt though

I apologize for my puzzling post.

:joke:__________ smootsmack many thanks for trying to clear up my confusing post (#15).

smootsmack, U were right. --- me_kellen is to symbolize -- how KW2 is such an egotistical loser.
I have edited my confusing post. --- Please let me know if it is still confusing.

Daseal 04-25-2004 02:30 AM

Maybe it's me, but I don't see the totally selfish attitude. He was upset because he didn't get a job he felt he was promised. I don't see that as selfish. Hell, if I got drafted to the Browns I'd damn near be contemplating suicide right now!

I'm glad we got Taylor, but I can see his gripe.

skinsfanthru&thru 04-25-2004 02:41 AM

he has himself to blame because he knew of the very rocky relationship between the Potsons' and the Redskins and signed with them anyways. he knew how highly he was being coveted by Gibbs and practically threw that away so I know I personally can't wait to see Arrington, Barrow, Washington, Bowen, and Taylor pound his spoiled ass into the ground. and this is coming from a guy who was heavily in favor of drafting winslow for most of this spring.

He can take his gripe and go pound salt, he has nothing to say, I do not believe anything was promised, he initially contradicted himself when he went off about it, essentially saying that when something is promised, but he kind of backed off that and started saying, when someone look's you in the face and tell's you if your still avail. we will do our best [ or along those lines ] to take you, there is a big difference between promising to take someone, and saying you will try to take someone, he's the one who hired the poston's, as well as Gibb's said during the week that he is really cautious about drafting someone who is a potential holdout and a real problem to sign, with all that said he never called the redskin's to say if you take me we will be in camp on time and have a reasonable number in place, I think all his barking is about drawing more attention to himself, which is why most here didn't want him to begin with, so he has only himself to blame, I believe if he was upfront and a good guy he would be a skin today, even though I think we made the right choice regardless. WINSLOWSER!

Carnage 04-25-2004 04:08 PM

I can't wait for Arrington and Taylor to sandwich Winslow.

JWsleep 04-25-2004 05:17 PM

Also, how must the Cleveland folks feel? They just traded up to get KW II, and all he can do is bitch about how he wanted to be in DC, they promised, blah-blah-blah. I'd probably be pretty uneasy about how happy junior is going to be with the Browns.

I actually voted for KW II pre-draft. Man, am I glad we didn't take him now.

kingerock 04-25-2004 05:31 PM

That would be my gripe too JWsweep. If the most your new star player can say is how much he wanted to play for another team.

Kinda like with Manning, the story isn't I want to play for NY, it's I don't want to play for S.D.

In both cases all they did was paint a target on their backs.

Daseal 04-25-2004 06:06 PM

Well, Gibbs contradicted himself today too. He said at one point that he told the family the Postons might not have been the best agent choice. Then today in the Washington Post stated that the player's agent had nothing to do with it (which I highly doubt)

JWsleep 04-25-2004 06:43 PM

I really don't believe that it was the postons that made the difference. If Gibbs thought KW II was the one to draft, we would have handled the Postons. I just think GIbbs became convinced (probably by Williams) that Taylor was too important and too good to pass up, especially given the NFC East rosters (Shockey, TO, Meshawn). And I bet it was also character issues. Taylor doesn't have that baggage, and KW II already does. KW II is not his dad. I bet Winslow Senior was a reason Gibbs sat on the fence for as long as he did. But then he figured that junior probably doesn't have the character of his old man. And that rant at the draft is evidence that Gibbs was right, if that's what he was thinking.

Week 4 just got a whole lot more interesting!!!

that does not mean it's a contradiction.

itvnetop 04-26-2004 05:12 PM

did anyone notice winslow's other comments post-draft? i found them to be quite disturbing, especially, "I guess they wanted a guy like Sean Taylor over me." Wasn't ST his freakin teammate? "A guy like" sounds very demeaning... his true colors came out and i'm glad we got ST. Players should be happy for their teammates, not put them in a negative light.

That he even opened his mouth at all about this is sour grapes. How do you think his new fellow team mates, coaches and fans in Cleveland feel about his comments and what it implies (he would rather be in DC). He is not a very smart man. He needs to think before shooting his mouth off.

MTK 04-26-2004 05:37 PM

His idiotic comments only solidifies the argument that we got the right 'Cane.

Sammy Baugh Fan 04-26-2004 05:38 PM

Tell him to pack a lunch week four...it's gonna be a long day for him
lol

peace

skinsfanthru&thru 04-26-2004 07:31 PM

taylor was asked about winslow's pre-selection comments and said the game against cleveland is gonna be interesting, but never made any degrading comments like Winslow which even further confirms the skins made the right choice.

Jamaican'Skin 04-26-2004 07:34 PM

The kid shows no class. Instead of a number, he should have the word "target" so ST knows where to hit at all times.
