Per JP Finlay, it's not true.. And I hope he is right as I don't see Tua being a franchise QB..

Tua is young, has some talent and my big concern are injuries, but I’m not opposed to giving him a shot as long as we aren’t moving a lot of assets for him

Unless as a staff you really love Tua and think he's the future, why bother? At this rate we're heading towards a top 5-10 pick anyway. Wait until the offseason and target someone you really believe in.

I think this Washington interest in Tua is somebody's camp trying to affect whatever dealings are happening between Houston and Miami.

Re: Around the NFL week 7

It's normal for multiple teams to be named as involved in a transaction like this. It's meant to drive up the price tag. I tend to believe JP, because as MTK said, it doesn't make a lot of sense at this point.

If they are going to make a move prior to the trade deadline, they ought to look at what they can do to improve that God awful D.

Anyway, the fact that this doesn't make sense scares me, because that is exactly the type of move I expect this organization to make.

Excellent point by Andrew Brandt. As much as I would want Watson, the baggage he's bringing would be pretty insane.

@AndrewBrandt
I cannot believe an NFL owner, in this current climate especially, would bring in Deshaun Watson and face his fan base with the lawsuits circling that player.
No matter how "good" a trade deal they could get.

I agree with that if we were any other franchise.

Bringing Watson here be equal to lighting a match during a bon fire; we are all ready a burning pile of dog shit what is one more flame. At least it give us more to talk about.

QB is a mission this off-season. I really think he wants a proven vet. Matt Ryan is my guess

Ron better get someone in here that can play at a high level. If he doesn't have the guy in place by year 3 something is seriously wrong with the way he is building this team.

Tua's issue isn't his play, his issue is he's made of glass.. Hard pass unless its for like a 5th

Ron is not good at getting QB's, Cam was a cant miss guy so he had no choice. Who else has he had? Look at the list and u will be disappointed

Other than Cam he's had..

Derek Anderson
Kyle Allen
Taylor Heineke
Will Grier

WOOF

This^ lol....so true, however...massages aside, Watson knows he's a winner on the field and with his no-trade clause, why would he come to this loser franchise. I mean the Dolphins aren't much better, but at least that's in Miami.

Well to be fair, Derek Anderson, Kyle Allen, Taylor Heinicke, and Will Grier were all brought to Carolina to serve as #2 or #3 behind Cam. Neither was ever brought there to be "the guy". You can make the argument that they thought Grier might be their guy at some point, but there are hundreds of examples of Coaches and GMs taking a flier on a guy in the 3rd/4th round - and it doesn't work out.

Kyle Allen was brought in here as insurance for Dwayne Haskins - again the #2. Heinicke was brought in here in an emergency situation, played well in the playoffs, and earned himself a contract to be the - you guessed it - #2.

The one guy he ever brought in to be "the guy" was Cam. You can call Cam a can't miss guy, but history has proven that there really is no such thing.
