Haskins fined $40k and has captain status removed

Fresh thread time for this bum

@RapSheet
Washington QB Dwayne Haskins was fined $40K by the team for COVID-19 violations after he attended a strip club without a mask, source said. A significant amount. This is the largest known fine for a player for a COVID violation – more than half of Haskins’ weekly paycheck.

@RapSheet
From NFL Now: Washington QB Dwayne Haskins lost his captainship and was fined $40K by the team. But it's up in the air whether he starts this week.

If Smith can't go then they have to start DH. Too big a game to start a guy off the street.

Yeah and the fact that it's a fine and a captaincy thing says exactly that.

But I bet the 'deal' they worked out with the NFL office involves cutting his ass when the season's over.

Could not agree more. After this season he'll be put up in the closet along with so many other great Snyder moves.

We should be talking about the biggest coming game we played in December in a very long time...one that could win the division. Yet here we are with another Dan Snyder-Bruce Allen QB pick special who must be intellectually disabled to be this stupid

Cut him in the offseason and you still have to pay him the guaranteed salary. So on the books in 2021 he'll have a $4.0M cap number. Cut him and the cap number goes up to $8.5M.

Worth it. I'd eat $4.5M to get this shithead out of the locker room. I don't think I've hated a Redskin player so much since Haynesworth.

I doubt the NFL execs are going to be party to a deal that involves a team cutting a player. The deal probably just revolved around the punishment, allowing him to participate in outdoor practices, but not allowing him to be physically present in the meeting rooms.

You're probably right, honestly. I just wish you weren't.

His Captain's patch was like that guy who was awarded a Nobel Prize before doing anything.

He never did anything to earn it. I believe it was purely a motivational tool to try to get the kid going. Failed.

While he's getting off easy, it does bode well for our playoff chances now.

I still hope and pray Alex Smith is ready so they can deactivate him and make Heinicke the backup on Sunday, then cut him the day after the postseason ends.
