Perhaps. I don't think it's a given though.

Hell no. Develop Paulsen as a regular TE, and Paul as a receiving TE.

Cooley's done.

Bad news . Hope Fred Davis has a 100% recovery ,I hate for any player to have serious injuries .
you want to go the rest of the season w 2 tes? or who else would you sign?
Go with LA as #3 if you have to. I have no clue who's available out there, but someone young with potential would be good. Our FO did well finding a kicker off the street recently.

edit: Paulsen just looked good on that catch.

Somebody should already have called Cooley!

Lets hope Cooley comes back. He will give the locker room a boost. Not that it is down but he will brighten it up.

I wouldn't mind Cooley if he's in shape. Paul hasn't shown anything outside of being solid on special teams.

I don't think adding Cooley would necessarily help this team.

redskins5044 10-21-2012 03:15 PM

Add a young TE maybe off of someone's practice squad.

This training staff sucks. Orakpo, Carriker, Davis, Merriweather, Helu, Garcon. This team has wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy to many injuries.

kct1975 10-21-2012 03:35 PM

I totally hate seeing Fred Davis injured! If he is out for the remainder of the season...I do hope that Chris Cooley is resigned. I think he would be the best option as a replacement.

I don't know why people are so dead set against signing Cooley. Granted it is not a given, but we need a body at TE and Niles Paul is sucking it up as a TE.

He knows the system and the players. Bring #47 back!

Not sure you can put all of this on the training staff. These injuries are part of the game, as sucky as it is. TV does not do this game justice. The speed and violence of the game is pretty insane. If you ever get a chance to stand on the sideline up close and personal it is amazing that some of these guys get back up.

hailgreen wants basically any te as long as it's not cooley, or to just keep paulsen and paul

Go with youth.

Many teams in situations like this bring back a vet that knows the system. If Cooley is not in shape then he shouldn't be signed. But if he is, I don't see what is so terrible about bringing him.

At this point Paulsen is the only good TE. Paul is not catching the ball well and can't block to save his life. We need a body at the TE position and I am sure the options are slim out there.

Forget Cooley. I say we sign Kellen Winslow :D

I wanted Cooley on the team at the start of the season, but at this point just can't see bringing in a TE who hasn't been on a roster for the whole season. Like someone else said, lets scour practice squads and find a guy out there, unless he's on ours already

If Cooley is healthy and in shape, I take him back. Doesn't matter whether or not he's used, we need to have depth in case Paulsen or Paul gets injured. Paulsen looked good today but Paul has been underwhelming.

It's just been a problem for years. I mean when I see stuff like Laron suddenly being healthy in New York it makes me wonder whats going on here. It also puts Larons rage quote in perspective.
“That’s why they have great doctors and they have okay doctors, great trainers and okay trainers,” Landry said. “(The Redskins) had people who just had the job title, but not the passion for their job. . . . I don’t respect the training staff at all. I don’t respect the coaches over there. I don’t respect (Shanahan). I do respect Coach (Joe) Gibbs, who brought me there, and Coach Gregg Williams. I respect that 2007 organization. After 2007. . . . nonexistent.”
Granted it should be taken with a grain of salt but I've seen to many key injuries over the past few years to not at least be suspicious. Also if I recall correctly Laron isn't the first one to take a shot at the Redskins training staff.

They do have jobs, their called offensive and defensive linemen.

May not be a bad idea to bring Cooley back. He would be hungry and would probably play well for the rest of the season. He's a Redskin thru and thru, rested, and wants to play. Cant hurt at this point.

People around here need to let go of CC. He can't run anymore.

Cooley doesn't really fit what we need in a TE anyway. That's why he's not here at the moment.
